Best fitness watch I have ever owned
Hands down I love this watch. I was a bit cautious at first but I shower with it take it to the beach you name it and it has not been damaged. The charge lasts me about 5 days give or take as well. The smart notifications are handy being able to read messages form all sorts of apps and being able to play and pause music from my phone.

Confusing and fails on the essentials
Confusing and fails on the essentials.
I'm a runner. I bought this because I wanted a watch to tell me my time, distance run, and heart rate in that order of priority. It doesn't. At first sight it seemed to display info. in big easily read characters. To me this is important as I am long sighted, I don't carry specs or wear contacts. Big characters I can read, small ones are a blur. Considering the price, anyone young enough to have 20-20 eyesight probably could not afford it.
During the run, the default display is four data fields, much too...Read more

Great Watch
I purchased this just over a month now and love the watch. The best feature is the GPS which means I dont have to carry my phone with me anymore. It does everything you it to. Tracks your steps, your location, fastest km's, and so much more. A must for those who love to track what they do each day.

Great sports watch with ANT+ support
I pair my Sosche Rhythm+ heart rate monitor to my phone while exercising inside (where I can place the phone and constantly see the screen); however this was a pain for running outdoors.
While the Garmin watch has a HR monitor - I've found wrist mounted monitors to be not so great. Fortunately the Forerunner will allow an external heart rate monitor (like the Rhythm+ or ANT+ chest straps) to override the built in one during a workout. The builtin one then gets used all other times to track my HR during the day, during sleep and as a sanit...Read more
y check when I'm anxious. Ability to use an external heart rate sensor is the main reason I chose the Garmin over something like an Xiaomi Amazfit (it might, but I couldn't find that sort of information). The other reason is software and app quality - Garmin software options are fairly stable and solid and more likely to support or be supported by third parties (as well as the hardware itself). The main let down I've had was getting over excited and downloading a bunch of apps and watch faces for it - quickly finding that its responsiveness can drop severely and reverting back to basics.Similar opinion? Great entry level running sport watch
It is light and comfortable on hand. Battery performance is correct as prescribed. Accurate GPS and heart rate. Very good for running, indoor running, biking, indoor biking, hiking, and multi sports. Fast charging, easy to use, supportive Garmin APP. Overall it is a perfect sports watch for everyday use. My only disappointment is that I couldn't use it to measure my strength training.

Great all round sports watch
I bought this one for my husband as it can be used when jogging as well as swimming. It also does heart rate and you can use the app to download all of the data too. He loves it as an all round sports watch but he also likes to wear it during the day as a watch. He can receive text messages on it too so if he's in meetings he can read them without lifting his phone.

Better than fitbit
If you're a slightly serious runner or jogger, then I recommend the Garmin 235 Forerunner. Featuring in-built GPS and heart rate monitor, this light and stylish watch was an upgrade after I gave my Fitbit away. And I'm so happy I did, Fitbit was a bit of a giggle, but lacked credible features. I can do so much more with my Garmin and the battery seems to last forever.

Does Everything I want!
i was looking for a waterproof fitness watch mainly for running. This watch ticked all the boxes, and I found it for a good price so decided to go for it after thinking about it for almost a year. So glad I did as it has kicked off my running motivation. Although it is big, ( makes a female wrist look petite ), it is lightweight, and I hardly feel I am wearing it. Great for motivating steps per day, and running information is very in depth, actually way more than I need. I don't really think the heart rate monitor works perfectly though, and I...Read more
turned off the "Move" function as I found it unnecessary, especially after having done a big run in the morning. Gave it four stars as I had to send mine back after a few months- the screen went blank after going crazy for a few days, but Garmin happily sent me a replacement that has been great.Similar opinion? So Handy and easy to use
Before I use to carry my phone when I run, now that I have purchased Garmin forerunner 235, the only accessory I need to carry is my Garmin, it does everything. Easy to use, and has a lot of features, it also syncs easily to your phone so you can analyse the activity you have done. I wouldn't leave without my Garmin Forerunner 235.

Best investment for my health tracking!
I chose to spend the little extra on the Forerunner 235, rather than the Forerunner 35 I was looking at. So pleased I did! Was easy to upload different watch faces through the app - I chose one that shows all the essentials: Time is nice and large to read, also shows day and date; the front face also shows number of steps out of 10,000 I've done that day; Shows my heart rate (reasonably accurate - I'm happy with that.)
This watch and activity tracker also tracks my sleep, and I can easily enter any activity to track it. The GPS function is a...Read more
wesome when I went for a few long walks - showed where I'd been on the map, time I'd spent walking, distance covered, my km/hr pace, and heart rate during the walk. I absolutely am loving the features, the interactive format, the link to the app. Just in the two days I have had it, I have increased my activity levels, so it really is a great motivator as well. You can set challenges and goals, and I would highly recommend this model. It is nicely priced as a medium entry model and very much worth it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent running watch
A fantastic watch for running. Accurate GPS measurement - was 100 % accurate over the 21 km Good Coast half. Heart rate accurate when used for running but not so accurate when doing HIIT. Great for counting your steps ect. I have not used for anything other than running so can't comment on accuracy of swimming feature etc.
the first one I received out of the box was dead but JB HI FI replaced no questions asked . Store assistant seemed very surprised - said very unusual for Garmin.

Garmin failure
Weak screen for a sports watch. I purchased 3 and all have cracked the screens with minor impacts, GUESS WHAT....they charge you 70% of the price of a new watch and only offer a second hand change over watch NO REPAIR SERVICE available in Australia. So unlike most sports watches where you can go on ebay and buy a screen for $20 Garmin have set up this scam to rip their customers off

Running watch that ticks all the boxes
The Forerunner 235 is a great running watch at a great price, GPS, built in wrist heart rate sensor, step tracker, bluetooth, great battery life, the list goes on. More than an entry level GPS watch, captures some awesome data, easy to use, enough tech to keep you interested and having fun.

Just what I need the most to record sports
The bad: It can take some time to get a GPS signal, depending on the weather. When the sky is clear, it only takes less than 10 seconds.
The good: The heart rate monitor is decent, if not close to perfect. If you don't mind a 90% accuracy, this is your best bet.

Perfect running watch that suits all my needs
Bought this one at a discounted price and has all the relevant features like heart rate, step tracker and GPS. The bluetooth functionality also lets you see notifications from phone. Another handy feature is being waterproof and also caters for cyclists as well as an indoor running mode like treadmill.

Perfect for runners.
This watch is great for running, with excellent tracking statistics and information about runs. The heart rate monitor works well enough, and the interface is simple and easy to use. Can also be used for cycling, but not ideal as it does not have as much specific information such as cadence.
Battery is good and lasts a week under normal usage.
Also can function to record steps, sleep and the like.
Has limited function when paired with phone to display notifications.

great companion for the marathon training
This is a great running watch, key word is running as it does not work the best for cycling and doesn't really work at all for swimming. Excellent data details that you can download wirelessly to your phone.
Cons would be the size and shape for some. It is also quite expensive for what it does. There are much cheaper options out there for heart rate/pedometer readings.
Pro, looks great! Comfy to wear even tho its pretty big. Waterproof. Controls arent clumbsy.

I have a Garmin forerunner 235. Can I use to track where I walk and run on map displays? I would to see where I have walked or where I’m about to walk on a map. Can it be done? Everything else is fine.
