Not the best...
The watch does what it needs to do, but nothing amazing. The one major downside is that the band constantly gives my kids a rash from wearing it. Battery life is actually very good which I was very surprised of. The customer service when one of the bands broke were outstanding. Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the rash the bands give my kid.

4 year old loves it and 2 year old n wants one!
I got this for my 4 year old because I can actually see how much she's actually sleeping at night and what she is actually doing exercise wise during the day to help with her sleep. Both my kids refuse to sleep at night and are abit over active during the day. The more I track everything the more I can tell what she is doing during the day and what I need to do to change her sleeping pattern and what not. I haven't had any problems with it since I got it for her. Ill be looking at getting my 2 year old one for her 3rd bday as well.

Pathetic, DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT
pathetic organisation, pathetic product, the bands continually tear and the new product I received burnt my 7 year olds arm as it got too hot. I contacted the company and am still awaiting a call back. That’s how much they care about the customers ( little kids )
Shame on you Garmin keep taking money and don’t worry about the aftermath

Poor quality, breaks all the time
I have purchased 2 Garmin vivofit jr and had nothing but trouble with them. After purchasing the second one I bought a warranty with it and have had to have it replaced 4 times! Twice the screen got a black dot in the middle of the display and you couldn't read the numbers correctly and twice my daughter has woken up one morning to find that the animal character you get to pick on the front screen has reverted back to a dinosaur and only half of the functions are available when you try to scroll through the menu. On top of that the bands don'...
Read moret last that long, if the kids need to take off everyday or they don't like sleeping in them. I can't express how disappointed we have been and the amount of time wasted having to return the watch and wait for at least 30mins if not more while the shop goes through the warranty process. Not to mentioned that everytime you have to replace the watch you loose all the stored information so the kids have to start their chores, the game on the phone to progress levels and their step history all over again. I have another faulty watch at home and don't know if I have be bothered going through the process again - of course I will as I can only imagine the pain it will cause when one child has a watch and the other doesn't. Garmin the features on the watch are great and the kids love them. Please think about the quality as I am sure I am not the only one that has experienced these issues.- Date Purchased

Easy to use - great kids watch
Easy to use and link in with app. Keeps kids motivated & improves independance. I use chore function to reinforce behaviors expected/things kids need to do. the stars rewarded to continue in game also encourages reading for my reluctant reader.
Only downside is only 2 alarms can be set & vand variety for girls is limited. Stretchy band also too small for 6yr olds.
Being able to give watch a name helps reduce sibling conflict as ownership easily identified.

Great to keep kids active and aware
I got this for my son for Christmas and have to say, I am really impressed with its features. First of all the sizing is great, it has a stretchy band so no fiddly clips or bands to worry about when wearing. It is a great way for kids to keep track of the steps they do in a day and they can set goals and get a beep when they achieve them. My son wears if all the time, I believe it is water resistant however he doesn't wear it near water just in case. Overall a great product for kids!

I love the concept but I am not sure about the product durability.
I have bought two of them for my two kids. The eldest son I got one in February last year, he is already on his 3rd watch because two of them stopped working properly. My youngest son got his in September and I just went yesterday to swap it because stopped working too :(

Not so great for kids
Bought this for my 7 yr old nephew and he loved it although the band is quite small but stretches. They should make it adjustable but it keeps him active as he always wants to track his steps. The downside is the steps count even when he shakes his wrist. Another con is that it only lasts 1 year and does not even tell you how to change the battery. For $129 I expect the battery to be changeable.

Works, but is not ajustible
I bought this for my 8 year old brother for his birthday, and he loves it. It tracks your steps and is fun to use with the app. the only problem is he never uses the app anyway, and the strap is not adjustable, so it will not fit him in the near future.

good for kids but don't think it's durable
I bought this for my son as Christmas gift. It's market for 4-9 year old because of the size of the band is not adjustable. It counts steps and records his active times during the day. We noticed that it still counts steps when my son moves his arms. Also the surface is not scratch resistant at all. After about a month, it has got a couple deep scratches already. For young kids who move a lot, it would be better to have scratch resistant surface. We were joking that maybe the reason it claims the built in battery can last 12 months is that after 12 months, you would hardly be able to read. Also, it doesn't say how to replace battery after 12 months.

Daughter loves it but doesn't last..
Bought this watch for Christmas 2016. Absolute winner in my daughter's eyes, June 2017 she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and that's when the features began to win for her. She was able to set her stop watch for hypo timing and still loved tracking her steps.
October 2017 10months old the watch developed a black spot on the screen... no change to the usage and she has always been careful with it just woke up with a blank spot in the middle of the screen. Still going through the process to rectify this problem not sure if they will fix replace or ignore... really hoping something happens as it has been a godsend and don't have the budget to have to replace it.

Ok but...
Got this for my 8 yr old boy in the hope to help improve his concept of time and to help keep him focused on set tasks. The plus's are the long battery life and water proofing. Downsides are the small band which he quickly out grew. The small watch face is also limited with what it can display information wise, while the smart phone app is not the greatest, slow to sync and requires constant vigilance to get the most out of it. My son quickly gave up on it and lost it for several months. He is now wearing it again, but only as a watch, as we fi...
Read morend that pulling out the iPhone to add tasks etc, only makes the kids want to play with the phone rather than complete the chore. In hindsight, I would probably not get this again and would get a cheap water proof digital watch instead.- Date Purchased

Fun activity tracker for Active kids
Got this activity tracker for our 8 year old son. He loves red so we got him the broken lava one. Comes in green camo also. The band is Stretchy and easy to put on and remove. He uses it to track his steps, times his teeth washing and swims in the pool with it. The tracker syncs easily with the app and you can monitor your child's sleep patterns, steps, goals etc. The screen is small but you can personalise it for your child with name and logo. This activity tracker is fun and encourages him to keep active and if he finishes his chores he earns points towards rewards. Fun accessory but should be cheaper as it's intended for kids.

These things are absolute garbage
I have 3 of these for my kids. My son's has been replace 4 times with screen faults. The first appeared after 3 weeks! All of my kids now have screen faults on their watches. Garmin support is non responsive. Save your kids the sadness of busted watches and a poorly updated app and buy something else. The idea is great the product and app are rubbish!

Kids favourite
We purchased these for our kids for Xmas and they are amazing. They are simple to use and have our children eager to wear them and eager to count steps and do more and more activity each day. They love challenging each other and seeing who can make more moves on the apps first. Love it

Love the colour
Great product, awesome for the younger people who like something a bit more simple. I bought this for my nephew and he loves it, easy to use and really fast. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who needs one or is looking to buy a gift for someone

Great for keeping track of steps and sleep.
I bought this for my son for Christmas. The steps are good to keep track of and when you get 60 mins of activity you can make a move on the additional game per day. The game is a bit too basic for a 9yo. Sleep analysis is fun to track. BUT I would not recommend setting an alarm for chores. There is no way to turn the reminders off and being school holidays all the alarms I'd put in as reminder we're driving us all insane. I had to reinstall the app on my phone and repair the watch solved the problem, but also deleted his progress in the game. Great for giving them some independence and accountability.

durable
the 'one size fits all band' was good (for comfort) despite the limited color options. however, the rubber strap was not as durable as we would have liked as it was torn within a couple of weeks. thankfully, the bands are easily replaceable via ebay with more colour options than through the regular stores.

My 9yo daughter loves hers
Bought one for my 9yo girl for Xmas. She loves it and tracks her activity throughout the day. Many of her friends seem to have one too. Comes in a number of colours to suit boys or girls.
Can be synced to a parent's PC.
No issues with it so far - it is working well. At the very least - it keeps time.

Not awful but disappointed with the band size
I purchased 2 of these this month. One for my 7yo and one for my 8yo. Neither are overly big children, both are skinny. The band fits my 7yo snuggly but is too small for my 8yo. Of course you can get new and bigger bands, but it will cost another $40. Really should not be advertised for 4-9yo. Definitely pass it up if your child is over 5.
September 30th 2018 Update: Absolutely rubbish product
I purchased 2 of these last Christmas for my kids.
The band's were small. Way too small.
By March I had to return band #1 to Big W. It was alre...

It's awesome for kids
Very small wrist band but fits my 9 year old boy fine. His mates can't fit it and they are only a small bit bigger. So probably suitable for 5-8 years average.
My boy loves the pocket money feature.
I like that he is no longer late home from anywhere as I can set an alarm for hometime!

Bands are very small
Daughter was desperate to have a Vivofit jnr. She’s 9. Bought one and the band is so small. I didn’t realise there was s new model coming out which may have accommodated better with an adjustable band. Have contacted Garmin who told me to call their customer service for options on the band. Hoping they will provide a solution. I don’t think the current bags would fit any child older than 7

kids are actually wanting to get moving
My kids love that they can track their activities just like me we can compete for who can get the most steps in a day. It added chores reminder is great and being able to input your own chore is fantastic. The only thing I don't like is that the band is stretchy instead if the adjustable strap like a fitbit.

Band started to tear after only a couple of months of use, but Garmin was happy to send me a replacement in a bigger size for free.
