Garbage

published

Garbage, don't bother. The receiver antenna was not soldered to the circuit board, the camera has about two pixels, the colours when it intermittently came on we're there then gone, the screen keeps going black. The video connector to the screen had a broken wire inside and whoever assembled it must have been having a bad day. Save your money and just turn your head to look behind. Just rubbish.

Could be better

Wiring is easy enough. The reflection in mirror during daylight makes it hard to see camera vision but to combat this I use the tilting option on old mirror to get rid of that but you then have to tilt back when using the mirror the in normal driving. Not ideal but solves the problem until I decide to take it back or not.

Rear View Mirror is almost useless

published

Unfortunately the rear view mirror is low quality by day it is almost impossible to see the camera view due to the glare. It is ok inside shopping centre carparks or night vision. I got rid of this system and installed a Polaris system which has a high quality mirror with adjusable contrast and brightness controls.

Close to useless !

published

By day the display in the rear view mirror is so faint as to be useless. By night it is much better and is good especially with the 'Guide Bars' on the display. On cars without wipers on the back window it could be very useful at night but without a brightness control it borders on being a waste of money.
It is handy at night and during bad weather when the view through the back window is obscured by rain.
The display is hard to see in bright light.

Can this system operate with 2 cameras via a changeover switch to view either rear of caravan or tow hitch?

I would suggest you opt for a custom fit Polaris system not bother with any Gator product. The extra $150 will be fully worth.
