I have found this device to be extremely useful in the lab. I downloaded the product manual and set the 360 camera to Car DVR mode. This means it will automatically start recording and stop recording when power is connected. No buttons or wifi control needed.
One of the missing pieces for this product is a right angle micro usb power plug that doesn't get in the way of the camera's tripod screw mount. I found something on ebay.com.au for mobile phones and was able to use it.

starting the car also starts the DVR recording and taking the key out of ignition automatically stops recording in 2 minutes. Putting it on the tripod in my workspace and plugging in power will automatically start recording. I still haven't heard back from technical support about an application that allows me to edit and save the native circular recordings as a standard video file, but I'll kerp my fingers crossed.
