GFBL300. Blade attachment is stuck in Base. Tried turning it tight then wiggle it as I turned the opposite way.
Worked first time but now it has happened again and refuses to budge. As well as that, liquid leaked into Base and now it is rotting and smelly. How on earth do I get it all apart and then clean inside the Base. There doesn't appear to be a way to pull it apart for cleaning.

I used a tea towel to hold the blades as they are sharp and I unscrewed the gasket on other side...take the gasket and washers off and wash, let dry and put back together.

You really don't have any info on this in the instruction book.
Thank you

I've only just brought the mix and go, and used it once. Second time I tried it, it smelt burnt and was feeling warm. And now it doesn't seem to work and ideas of what happened to it?

I’m not sure but that doesn’t sound right... I would check in the rim of the blade lid as there is a rubber ring - if that has dislodged it may have made that burning smell?? And if dislodged it may not work properly... otherwise I would take it back where I got it and see if it could be replaced as it may be a defect in the product??

Tash

I don't think it is unusual for the blade rim to be warm especially after use but if it doesn't appear to be working as it did I would definitely take it back.

I used my mix and go to blend some tuna chunks and avocado. I started to really slow down then stopped. Could smell an electric smell. I have turned it off but am worried I have burnt out the motor. Is there an overload reset or something else I can do?

There is not a reset as far as I know. I have had my machine get a bit hot and I have solved this by using it in short bursts. Also if you move the mixture around a bit it is better. Makes me wonder if tuna and avocado are not liquid enough for this type of blender!

Brim

Great - thanks, pretty sure its toast as it wont restart.

Did you really think it is going to mix tuna? Mix and go is to make drinks!!!!! I use it for fruit drinks only. I mix frozen fruit with a little juice or water. It only gets a bit warm if too much is loaded into the container. Apart from my dust buster...this is the best piece of machinery I own!!!!

The lid of my mix and go is stuck and will not come out of the stand, has anyone encountered this, or found a way to get it out?

By lid do you mean the blade attachment?
If so, and its stuck to the base of the blender,
First unplug the blender.
Use your bottle (making sure it's completely dry), twist it back on the blade assembly tightly(clockwise). When you feel that it's tight enough, twist it anticlockwise. You should feel a little give and it should come out as usual.

Hi Sharon, no I have not had this problem.
Make sure the rubber seal is still in the base and that it's clean and sitting flush.

Stevo77
Stevo77

Make sure that the seal is not twisted. Can easily happen when refitting if it comes out when washing.

Its probe leaking thought spindle shaft o ring on the blades and not the rubber seal on the glass jug. I've had 2 replaced now but being a plumber have worked out how to fix it. you undo to blade assembly it has a backwards thread so you will undo it opposite way to turning a tap on. then pull the shaft out and grease it up with some silicone grease on the o ring aswel then put it back together. Seems to work fine now

The mix & go stays on

Is there a way to fix it?

When you twist the bottle and push it downwards this makes it go on, and then you can twist it the other way to stop it. There's an arrow on the motor part and on the blade part that have to line up to make it go (which I gather you've already discovered if yours goes) and you just un-align them to make it stop and you can then remove the blade and bottle. Hope that helps. Cheers.

This answer is insufficient

Suggest you contact the George Foreman website. I have the Mix and Go Pro which may be slightly different from your model as mine has 4 options and has the blender jug as well as the bottle.

I have the mix & go pro, tried to do ice but it just does the bottom & I have to shake it up. How do you do ice without shaking it up please as the instructions aren't clear?!

1 answer
Phil M.
Phil M.

I used to do ice and also nuts in mine and found that both would not completely crush. What I would do was start and stop the unit at the wall switch a few times. I would run for about five seconds and then let it settle for a few seconds and then run it again. Then run it for about a minute before finishing. Found that the large majority of the nuts/ice would get chopped up. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Recently purchased a mix and go blender. The individual bottles seem to work fine but tried several times to blend watermelon in the jug and it takes ages for anything remotely to happen. Think the blades are too weak, the motor runs and bubbles start forming after five or so attempts with about 1mm blended. Really annoyed does anyone know how their warranty works? I bought it from myer this Christmas.

Hi, I haven't tried the jug yet perhaps I should. The original bottle works well but the additional bottle leaks. I got in touch with George Foreman and I believe a replacement is being sent to me.

Try to add a bit of water, juice or any liquid.

You are taking about the mix and go pro with the 800watt motor. If you are call the distributor their name is Spectrum Brands Australia 03 8551 5000, it should work better than that
