Hi Mike,

Our GoSenior plan has no joining fees or ongoing membership fees, so you only pay for your usage, which starts at $6.50 per hour + $0.40 per km, or $76 a day with 150kms included free. It's got some of our lowest rates and is definitely the best deal if you're over 60. You can also have up to three drivers on the account, so can add your partner and a friend!

Here is a link to the sign-up page with a bit more information, including the rates for all the different cars in the fleet: https://www.goget.com.au/pricing/seniors/

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to shoot us an email at [email protected] and our Member Services team will help you out.

All the best,
Andrew

Hi Jonny,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

When members use a vehicle, they are responsible for taking care of their own rubbish, just as if you were borrowing the car from a friend. Having some plastic bags in the glove box for rubbish would actually be pretty handy, and I've passed this suggestion on to our fleet team, but at this point it is just the responsibility our members to do the considerate thing by each other and clean up after themselves at the end of their booking.

If you ever find that the previous member has not done this, please get in touch via the app or by calling 1300 769 389, so that we can contact the previous user with a quick reminder of our car sharing etiquette.

Thanks again,
Andrew

I simply choose food and products that do not produce rubbish - fruit and veg in a reusable lunch box, reusable water bottles, etc.

Hi Johnny,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Unfortunately we don't have portable GPS systems in the cars, but most do have a GPS system built in. You can also always connect your phone via Bluetooth and use the maps system that way.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, or wish to enquire about a specific vehicle, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 1300 769 389.

Thanks,
Andrew

When making a booking, tick 'Navigation system' in the list of features. Then the map will update to show only the cars which have built in gps navigators.

For portable gps, use a phone holder and your smart phone? Or buy a car navigator at gumtree.

Hi Benedict, thanks for getting in touch and letting us know about this issue!

This is something that has the potential to be extremely inconvenient, let alone dangerous. If you ever notice that a car you've booked is missing the spare tyre, please give us a call on 1300 769 389 and we can get it fixed up, as well as contact the previous users of the vehicle to avoid this happening in future.

Please get in touch on 1300 769 389 to discuss this further, avoiding situations like this is obviously a big priority for us.

Thanks again,

Just wondering whether we can hire your car and return it the next day at the Sydney International Airport, and the same way, we can pick up your car from the International Airport and return it back to your depot? Please let me know if it is workable and how long I have to book in advance. Thank you very much and waiting for your reply.

Andrew S.GoGet

Hi Donna,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

GoGet bookings are always return trips back to the original pod that you picked it up from. You'll need to book the vehicle out for the whole time that the car is away from the pod, so that other members know that it's not available to collect.

You can book any time in the future, provided that there is availability of the vehicles at the pod you'd like to collect the car from.

I hope this helps.

I think they charge a base $ fee per hour, and then so much per kilometre and toll fees if you use them. Igot charged $11 per hour for a ute and 40 cents a K.

Andrew S.GoGet

Hi Garcia, thanks for getting in touch. Our booking system will charge you the estimated cost of what we can work out when you make your booking (or any extensions). This will then appear on your monthly statement as a payment to show you've already paid for this portion. Your monthly statement will then include everything else that we couldn't work out at the point of booking, such as Km's travelled or any tolls used.

I hope this helps.

Hi Elyse, I was ex-customer of Go-get. They cheated me really bad. My strong recommendation would be to NEVER EVER use GoGet. They are unethical company and unethical and cheat employees lead their teams. Anyone else, reading and considering to join GoGet, my advise to them never join them. They will blame you of anything and charge you excessive amount of money. Their damage team acts like goons and charge you money. Person named Lam (damage team), he bullied me and cheated me. Be careful guys, they will scam you sooner or later... Good Luck

Thank you for taking time to reply. I really appreciated it. To be honnest, we didn t bothered looking forward with goget as our questions were left totally unanswered. As a potential customer, i always look for good and negative reviews as it gives me an idea of what to expect. We finally found another company that offered the same service with competitive prices and only good reviews.
I hope you can fixed your issues with goget really soon as i know myself how frustrating it could be to not have the service expected.

I would like to know why you need to provide an SUV in a built up inner city area of Sydney and remove one of the existing 2 small cars from that pod? The large EXPENSIVE car was available in a pod close by but you closed that one for whatever reason and moved the more expensive LARGE vehicle to the pod were 2 smaller cheaper cars were being used regularly. It feels like you are trying to take advantage of a popular pod area. I think that is called gouging!

2 answers
GoGet
Andrew S.GoGet

Hi Ping, our intention certainly isn't to gouge our members! We move cars around for a lot of different reasons, including member special requests, better suitability (e.g. a larger space to fit the car) and simply as cars get sold and replaced over time. Sometimes local residents request a certain car type, and a dual pod like the one you describe is often a good candidate because it doesn't remove the choice of a smaller car. We will rarely close a pod, unless there's long term construction, roadworks or some council change, so I'd really be interested to look into what happened in this case. If we had to close a pod in your area for those reasons, but also needed to keep an SUV nearby for local member demand, then I can imagine we would swap out one of two similar cars from a dual pod with one SUV, just to try and continue to provide the same service - not to force anybody into using a higher price tier! If you want more detail on exactly what happened with your local pod, and if you ever have questions or special requests about car types near you, please feel free to email [email protected] with the pod location and car name. ^Jarrod

Hi Jarrod, as it happens you moved the SUV from Terminus street and replaced it with a van. I live in Petersham and to be honest the coverage of cars is much less than in the city areas. So, when it comes to bookings last minute there is quite a lot competitiveness. There are 6 pods within reasonable walking distance (with groceries and luggage) that don't require crossing busy roads nor adding at least 1/2 an hour to your booking to drop it back off. Two of these pods now contain a large car or van. There are 3 pods on Brighton street that suggests that they are only really convenient to residents around that street. This is on a steep hill. On Crystal street, there are 2 pods, now containing 1 small car and 1 SUV. Would a solution be, perhaps, to move the corolla on Brighton street to the pod at Marrickville council and put the SUV were the Corolla was? Personally, I would prefer at least one more pod on York Cresent. It is a dead end street with very limited parking that would encourage more residents to perhaps forgo a car and think about care share. I have attempted many times to request this and have been told by your staff that it is a council issue and council has advised that they think it is your prerogative. When I email the pod@goget, I get absolute crickets in response. Anyway, I am glad you take the time to respond to issues raised on this site at least. I look forward to a new pod near Crystal street.

I'm interested in goget but I wondered how available the cars are at short notice in my area. Is there anyway to know the general availability of cars in certain areas?

1 answer
GoGet
Andrew S.GoGet

Hi Ross, thanks for your question. For most members, GoGet is more or less on-demand. Book when you need the car, and get on your way. If it's a very busy day, you might have to walk a little further to get an available car, but in most of our areas there's usually something nearby. If you need a special type of vehicle, especially for an extended booking time, it's definitely worth booking in advance if you know your plans. When you become a member, we have a "day view" on the booking system that clearly shows all the cars around you and when they're available. Before becoming a member, you can get a feel for availability by looking at our Find Cars map (https://www.goget.com.au/find-cars/) - grey means it's currently booked out, orange means available. You can also use our car search function (https://www.goget.com.au/bookings/request_time.php) to get an idea of how many cars are near you and if they're available at the time. Also, once you're a member you can book a vehicle in advance to ensure it's available, and as long as you cancel in the allowed time frame you won't be charged. For cancellation times, see here (https://gogetms.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205284045-I-need-to-change-my-booking). Hope this helps! ^Jarrod

Can a goget user park their car on the goget pod that they are using--i.e. swap cars in the goget parking slot with the goget car?

Hi, thanks for the question. Most of our pods are given to us by the council and unfortunately would not be able to accommodate a members vehicle. Parking rangers have been known to fine members for this issue.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist with.

That's a shame. I can think of a couple of situations where this could be useful. For instance, if you want a big car, then drive over to the goget big car pod and swap cars.

Yes, we have a Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
The Outlander PHEV runs on its twin electric motors for 50kms before reverting to petrol.
You can see where the Outlanders are, and learn a bit more about them, here: https://www.goget.com.au/outlander-phev-hybrid/

We'd love to hear from you! We have GoGet on-site at many apartment buildings and developments, and residents love having the most convenient carshare spot - their basement!
General information about GoGet on-site is available here: https://www.goget.com.au/goget-for-business/goget-for-developers/
If you could shoot our Locations team an email at [email protected] with some details about your building, we'll discuss putting a car on-site for you.

Hi Nik,

Yes, members can't have had any serious driving offences to join GoGet.

What you've seen might be a result of the fact that GoGet members tend not to own their own cars and don't drive that often, so could be a little rusty.

I am a potential GoGet user, just trying to decide if I can let my car go.

But I didn't know you couldn't book your car in advance – you just have to search for a car roughly in the environs at the time you want one, is that right?

I have 3 GoGet cars near me, but they are never available – does that mean you sometimes have to walk miles just for say an hour's car hire?!

The Goget system works by booking a car in hourly slots in advance. They have a booking system online which shows a calendar view of when the cars are booked and when they are free. So in your case you have to pick one of the 3 cars near you and book it in advance, either online (web, mobile, app) or phone. It takes only a couple of minutes after booking for the signal to be sent to the car and your RFID member card will open it, by touching it to the windscreen. Hope this helps!

I can't see a calendar view of when the cars are booked and when they are free as you mention. Maybe you can only see that when you area member?
