I am not a groupon staff member so I can't answer that for you. Not sure why I got your question. Is anything really geniune these days? If the shoe fits wear it. Its hard to tell apart these days anyway :) a wholesaler is generally a better go.

Anyone ever buy any physical products from Groupon? I've purchased food deals, but never an actual product. I'm looking into buying something, but the details are vague and the price seems too good to be true...

This is what I am considering buying (link below). Everywhere else the price is over $100.

Make sure you read all the fine print. I purchased two sheet sets, only to find they only have a bottom sheet. Very sneaky. I read back through the description and it was as stated only a fitted bottom sheet and no top sheet. Who buys half a sheet set?

Just the check difference in price from other websites to see if your getting a real discount or just a jimmick price .etc...went for a Groupon message for $39 discounted from a higher price but at the message place $39 was standard price jusy a jimmick..Look at how long the voucher is valid for and some other fine print that is mostly added to this deal. Good luck

Hi, Well I bought $600 worth of E-gift Cards (woolworths ones and I even called woolworths and they said I had to deal with groupon so no support from the actual owners of the E-Gift Cards) from them, after a few days they sent me an email stating someone was using the cards and they put them on hold because it didn't seem right. As I never received the cards I tried to email reply, that bounced back as you can't reply via email you have to call or message through their site after you jump through several hoops, they let you message through their site. As it was Fraud, I phoned them, their call centre is somewhere overseas and because of that they use Voice Over IP Voip which means you call them over their internet (so they cut cost on overseas calls)which means you get constant drop outs and poor reception while talking to someone who has english as a second language and never used english in an english speaking country which makes it difficult for them to understand what your saying. I had 2 drop outs and each time I called back I waited between 15 and 30 minutes, when I finally spoke to someone they had no idea about the email they sent me regarding Fraud which I take seriously as my credit card is on their site, however the agent was useless, I asked to escalate the issue and they refused. I ended up emailing them and di not get a response for 5 days, considering fraud on my account I thought they would be more proactive. I have been responding to them via email now for about 10 days, their response are a 72 hour at best turn around time and I am still trying to get my money back, I had to ask my Bank to reverse the charges as Groupon was and still are doing nothing. I don't think it matters what you buy from them, if you have any sort of issue, forget it, don't even try to contact them, you will waste your time or get people who don't know what they are talking about. I have bought some items in the past which have been delivered no worries but as there was issues with those purchases then I had no need to contact them. So if you buy a trip to Bali, and you have an issue, you will have little chance to resolve it and worse you could be on your holiday and there first reply turn around is 5 days, your holiday will be over and more likely they will fob you off to the Travel Agent/Wholesaler and say it's not their problem. Your choice but as I said if you have an issue, you have thrown your money away. It is now one month and I am still fighting to get my money back and I have been fighting for atleast 3 weeks. Good luck what ever you decide. I personally will never use them again and I don't leave reviews unless I mean it and the service has been particularly bad. Try Scoopon or Catch f the day, owned by the same company and scoopon have holidays all the time, I have dealt with their customer service several times and they are fantastic, they reply straight away and they resolve all issues within 24 hours, fantastic service. A friend of mine bought a 10 day tripo to China through scoopon and said everything was fantastic, all though they knew it was cheap so the knew thier hotels would not be 5 star. Maybe see who the wholesaler is and call them direct and ask them what happens if you have an issue before you buy.

Don't bother. The reason most of the products offered on a "deal" site is rubbish is because Groupon (and others like them) will take a huge chunk of your sale price. The customers who buy from Groupon are only interested in what they perceive to be a bargain and in the main, are not return customers. Your nett result will be a minute return for a huge amount of chaos caused by groupon's disorganisation

Has anyone purchased a groupon voucher for a porcelain crown at Gladesville? Did they do a good job?

2 answers
Andrewhe

Hi Louise,

I have and I had the fitting / installation this morning. I have to say I am impressed. Very efficient staff and incredible value. With my health fund it actually cost me nothing for the crown but $75 for a temporary filling. Just a tip though, go and visit the dentist first to make sure you need a crown before shelling out for the voucher. The health fund may not pay you back because the voucher dealer is not a registered service provider.

By comparison to regular crown prices which can easily be a couple of thousand dollars, this was fantastic value. It comes with a ten year guarantee and it looks just like my other teeth. I had suspected that they might be made in China but the dentist insisted they were made in Sydney as she handed be the guarantee certificate. Was expecting to be in a bit of pain this evening but I can't feel any pain at all. Quite amazing. Highly recommended. They are busy though so you have to wait ages for the 2 appointments.

Thanks will make an appointment first, what health fund are you with as thinking of changing and mine wont cover it

I sent them an email, however they said a refund could not be given after the expiry date. I than ask if this was still the case when they had not sent out emails in which they had promised, and just got a sorry email, no refund :-(
Worth sending an email to them anyway I would say, but I never took it any further

I was given a refund when the company who the deal was with decided not to follow through. I also got a partial refund for an offer that some of the merchants didn't knw about. I suggest that when you see a del u le ring the company first to ensure availability of dates then buy and make dete immediately. Overall quite good service. But groupings seem to upset merchants regularly.

I believe you can give the Groupon to your son, just print off the voucher and he takes that along with him, normally they dont ask about another person using the voucher but even so he just needs to say you gave it to him or brought for him as a gift.

Hope this helps.

I would never use groupon again - they take your money but do not make any arrangement with the store and take no responsibility at all. You will lose your money -they do not give refund. Keep searching the net for other options!
