We brought a 75 inch tv on the6th of November for 2600 dollars and now find the same tv going for 2286 dollars.I believe that Harvey Norman has a policy that if the cost of a product is reduced within a short time frame that the price is reimbursed. Can you please let us know if this is correct or has there been a change in your policy? Thank you Jo Robertson

Brought a large tv in December set it up on the stand and everything and today it fell off the stand and cracked one side of the screen, can it be repaired?

It will probably be more expensive to fix than to buy a new one, unfortunately straight in the bin.
My good advice to you or anyone if you purchase a new thin digital TV.
Always buy a (WALL BRACKET) as well as your TV and install it, so it will never fall over.
(These thin OLED tv's are very fragile).

Hi,
About 9 months ago I purchased almost 2k in monster speakers etc and paid cash. We had one faulty one and I am so far yet to find the receipt. Technically it should be on the computer system as I had to give my name and address for the purchase. After visiting the store, the lady proceeds to tell me that none of my purchases are on file! It seems a bit fishy to me that when I paid 2k cash and my receipt was printed off, what's to stop the staff member going in and canecelling the transaction and pockets 2k? What are your thoughts on this?? Cheers Seona

It's possible. I think that if you went back without too much time passing then they certainly should have it in their transaction history. The guy who owns it isn't a customer focused person which isn't the best thing considering he needs customers to survive so it's possible that money suddenly went missing, wouldn't put it past him. Just my opinion though. Probably needs to recoupe the cost of the other half spending money on her mayor campaign, oh wait! That's right...used tax payers money instead!

1) Find your bank statement, I hope you used a card (VISA/MasterCard) proof of transaction. Then 2) go back to them knowing you d have proof. 3) Read this two links
https://www.accc.gov.au/business/treating-customers-fairly/offering-warranties/warranties-against-defects AND https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/repair-replace-refund. 4) I would also notify the card issuing body/bank et al. and also consider a claim against your Visa/Mastercard they usually have complimentary protection.

Least that's what I woudl do! Good luck.

Seona, from my experience, not all Harvey Norman stores are connected. They are simply all individually franchised. Are you sure you went to the original store to look for your transaction? If this wasn't the store you purchased from, they will not be able to see you transaction history. The best thing to do, would be contact all Harvey Norman stores and give them your details, they will be able to find your proof of purchase.

Can I get refund on the product care plan I bought for a computer last week? Can I do it online? I think I do not need it anymore.

You actually never needed it. Extended warranties are a scam and should have been outlawed long ago. As are 12 month warranties.

Australian Consumer Law stipulates that you should expect a reasonable service life from a product (warranty periods aside). Just because your $2500 computer has a 12 month warranty doesn't mean you need an extended warranty to cover anything beyond that. If it breaks down 18 months in, the law is on your side.

Does Harvey Norman fix blue screen of death?

2 answers

Blue screen of death is a software fault, and is generally easily remedied by either factory reformatting the computer, or installing a backup that didn't have the issue.
As software faults are easily remedied, HN will likely charge for the service if you bring it in to be reimaged. Manufacturer would do it for you if it's within warranty, but it will take a few weeks.
My best recommendation is head to a tech forum such as toms hardware, post an error report to the forums and some of the members will guide you through the steps of undoing the damage without reformatting the computer.

There are a few avenues. In short, yes they can fix it. You will be charged. It would take about 2-5 hours to fix properly without losing you data.

(The views I have expressed do not represent those of Harvey Norman, seek guidance from store of purchase)

Try pushing the recovery
option key? It only tells you the correct key
during blue screen mode.
Then choose non destructive recovery
wait till it puts everything back to as new.
if on the other hand you choose destructive
recovery, back all your data up either option.

And have a great today!

can i cancel my 4 years extended warranty?
before that staff never tell me that need to pay for extra extended warranty
after that when i sigh up

It depends when the extended warranty was purchased. If it was in a reasonable amount of time, and you feel you were mislead by the Sales staff, call in to enquire and you will generally get a prompt response. Depending whether the price was a package deal, you may not be able to get separate pricing and a refund.
