Backwards company still in the 20th century
Harvey Norman had a good offer on a Netgear Nighthawk AX6000. I checked online and it said it was in stock in the Broadway store.
I ordered online (before 4pm) to collect from the store.
When I got to the store they would not accept the NSW Government issued online driving licence. Even though that same form of identification is acceptable by the Government, the police, hospitals and pretty much everywhere.
Then the same store said they could not refund me either.
So I was not able to get my order and I was not able to be refunded either. What a service!
I will not be buying from Harvey Norman anymore. I will buy from a company that has moved into the 21st century.
And Harvey wonders why we are all buying from overseas!

Bought 2 mobile handsets from Harvey Norman just over a year ago. One unit has now failed twice. The first time I dealt with the manufacturer and the device was replaced. The second time we chose to go back to the retailer*.
First, I was lied to on the phone by Kit, the staff member who dealt with technical problems. He falsely told me that he had called Consumer Protection and that I was not able to return the phone as the manufacturer had already done so once. Kit was very flustered and not able to tell me when this call took place or who he...Read more
spoke to when I asked, but initially I gave him the benefit of the doubt However, when Consumer Protection told me moments later that I was entitled to deal with Harvey Norman still, it was clear that Kit’s supposed call was fake news. I immediately transmitted my advice from Consumer Protection in an e-mail immediately to Kit. Some days later, I received a text from the store accepting that I was entitled to a refund and to bring the item and accessories to the store. Well, after a year, I no longer have any idea where the specific items from the box now reside and was thus unable to produce the items. At this point I was informed that no refund would be possible without them. A manager, Vijay, was summoned. After a discussion in store with Consumer Protection, we were informed that indeed, HN was entitled to ask for the accessories and the bonus Chromecast that was noted on the receiptOk, sure. I still don’t have these thingsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Service
Love Harvey Norman and it's great customer service. The interest free credit card offer helped me kit out my whole gaff with nothing up front. Very happy with the service all round.

Switched on and electrifying
Wow, this sales assistant has obviously been around a long time. Knows his bytes from his bites. Great attention to my laboured attempts to get his attention without being labelled vexstious.

Excellent and helpful service
Excellent service at both Joondalup Clearance store from Luca today purchasing a TV and enquiring into dishwashers; and from Rob at Osborne Park store when selecting a fridge last month. Both knowledgable and friendly. Would recommend both.

The origin...
I bought a really nice television at a Harvey Norman Australia store. The best I ever had after a decade of watching everything on a computer monitor. We (I'm married now, hence the good TV) were advised to get a sound bar. All Samsung (this review is going there as well).
After a while, what was odd at first became obvious that was a built-in trait of the product. In many movies and series, at max. volume, we could barely hear the voices, yet my neighbours three doors over could hear the shooting with amazing realism.
So, I asked Harvey Norman...Read more

Just sales. No interest in after sales service!!
HARVEY NORMAN I bought a $2000 plus laptop and whilst I was contemplating which one the sales staff were highly attentive and sold me extra programs and hardware etc. One week later I returned as I wasn’t familiar with the software and they were too busy to help me. I tried once more and got brushed off with minimal effort.

extended warranty / product care is an absolute waste of money
bought a microsoft laptop, I paid extra for the extended warranty saying the manufactures warranty only covers me for 12 months. The device became faulty after 14 months. Contacted Harvey Norman and they said they'd need the computer for a week to two weeks and that I'd be without it and no loan computer could be supplied. This is unacceptable as I use the computer for work. I called Microsoft and they said I'm still covered under the manufacturers warranty (2 years) and they're sending me a new one free of charge. Extended warranty is a rort and I'm going to ask for a refund on it the absolute scammers

An excellent purchase
On Friday morning 20th December 2022 I purchased a Microsoft Surface Pen - Platinum for $139 so I could do heaps of drawing with it on my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and I was extremely happy with it. The staff were kind to me and the service was terrific. The same day in the afternoon they refunded me the full amount back onto my card.

Disappointed at Flexirent product sold by Harvey Norman
I was told it will be better in the end to go with Flexirent when I bought my laptop. I would have paid fully at purchase time but sales convinced me that it would be better to go with Flexirent and that I could salary sacrifice it and I would end up paying less in the end.
Well it turns up that I would be paying more.
Also that I could stop the lease after 2 years and need not pay huge amount to own the laptop.
Very disappointed. After all we have bought numerous products from Harvey Norman over the years.

Product Care Warranty - Don't fall for it!
While buying a Samsung phone from Harvey Norman the sales person kept telling me that I should purchase a Product Care Warranty. I politely declined but he kept insisting that I NEEDED it because quote, "the screens on these smart phones fail all the time!", unquote. He then went on to assure me that under a Product Care warranty the phone would be replaced immediately if the screen failed. Without one my phone would sent away to be repaired if the screen failed. Against my better judgement I eventually gave in and paid extra for a Product ...Read more
Care Warranty. Fast forward 12 months and of course the screen on my new phone suddenly failed. I took it and my Product Care Warranty to Harvey Norman, fully expecting to leave with a brand new phone - but that's not what happened at all. The guy at the repair desk told me that because the original 2 year Samsung warranty still had 12 months left on it the Product Care Warranty didn't apply. Huh? I assured him that wasn't what the salesperson had lead me to believe when he was pushing the Product Care Warranty on me. His response was 'that's not my problem'. He reiterated that it could not be used and under the Samsung warranty the phone would be sent away for repairs. To say I was angry would be an understatement. I told him in no uncertain terms that (a) he would be issuing me with a refund for the Product Care warranty (which he did) and (b) I'd be speaking to the manager (which I did). The manager heard me out but I could see his eyes glazing over as I explained what had happened. I suggested that perhaps his staff could be given better training so that they had a more comprehensive understanding of the products they were trying to push on to customers. In return I received some patronising lip service. I left the store feeling pretty much deflated - I honestly think I would have been better off talking to a wall. Nobody working there was the least bit interested in acknowledging that what had happened was wrong. Care factor = NIL. In my opinion Product Care is nothing more than a scam that people should be made aware of, hence this lengthy review.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I’ll never shop here again!
Went into Harvey Norman to buy a Dyson stick vac, the ticketed price was $597 including 2 years product care replacement ( this is an additional warranty that replaces old for new after the manufacturers warranty expires, it costs $119, check it out for yourself on their website).
Seeing that there are 4 retailers in the complex selling the same product I asked for a better price. We agreed on $575. Now when I get home I see on my receipt “EXCLUDEPRODCARE”. This was not part of the agreement. Why would I give up something worth $119 for $22? Complete unethical bait and switch. Our family had to go without other things so we could afford this product and I’ll never step foot in this snake pit again.

We brought a 75 inch tv on the6th of November for 2600 dollars and now find the same tv going for 2286 dollars.I believe that Harvey Norman has a policy that if the cost of a product is reduced within a short time frame that the price is reimbursed. Can you please let us know if this is correct or has there been a change in your policy?
