Avoid HN Thomastown
We bought a TV & told the Salesman/Manager we wanted a Smart tv, to watch Stan & Netflix on apps. We currently have a Samsung which needed a chromecast & we didn't want this, which we definitely told him.
He told us the Toshiba was great so we bought it.
Got it on the wall & then realise it's not a Smart tv at all! Needs chromecast! Yesterday when we rang they advised us to bring it in & they would add the apps. My Husband rang back today as there are certain models you can, but not the one he sold us!

Batemans Bay store are great!
I am writing this 5 star review to offset in someway a 1 star review I will be writing for the online store (click and collect service) I rang to enquire about an item on special. It was in stock and I arrived half an hour later to pick it up and was served very promptly and efficiently by Jess. Great work Batemans Bay

Careless installation
I bought a front loader LG washer dryer combo. The installer was very overweight in size. He turned on the tap all the way, causing lots of pipe vibration noise. He kinked the pipe. LG rep came and found it. I would not buy any appliance from HN anymore because of the poor installation. A lot of headache to try and sort it through. Noises that would not have been there if the installer took some care. And I would not have to bother LG,

Do not purchase extended warranty
Purchased a laptop a few weeks ago, prior to paying was asked if I wanted extended warranty which they call "product care". They offered me a great discount without me even haggling. They said that it did 2 things. If, within the warranty time frame, I decided I wanted to upgrade I could do so only paying the difference. Or if within warranty time my laptop didn't work I could potentially get a new laptop or the part replaced. read so many horror stories about "product care", I went back the next day to refund it. Initially they refused to let me refund the warranty, but once I threatened to return the laptop as well, they gave way. I know I was lucky to get my money back, had I waited until after 20 day cooling period, I would have been stuck with the stupid thing and lost 150 bucks.Similar opinion? Backwards company still in the 20th century
Harvey Norman had a good offer on a Netgear Nighthawk AX6000. I checked online and it said it was in stock in the Broadway store.
I ordered online (before 4pm) to collect from the store.
When I got to the store they would not accept the NSW Government issued online driving licence. Even though that same form of identification is acceptable by the Government, the police, hospitals and pretty much everywhere.
Then the same store said they could not refund me either.
So I was not able to get my order and I was not able to be refunded either. What a service!
I will not be buying from Harvey Norman anymore. I will buy from a company that has moved into the 21st century.
And Harvey wonders why we are all buying from overseas!

Faulty and defective products at times, on complaints to online website it’s automated service sucks and it’s absolutely useless!

One stop shop
Harvey Norman at Rutherford has been amazing, we are currently building a house and are buying everything new and have found after months of looking around and experience at other retailers Harvey Norman was by far the best and made everything so easy. From our flooring, furniture, bedding and electrical they have been great especially the flooring team we couldn’t be happier and can’t wait for our build to be finished so our flooring can go in and all of our beautiful new home items delivered.

Disappointing service from Harvey Norman
I ordered a fridge in January and had to wait 6 weeks before it arrived. We were not notified that our fridge was in and when we rang the store and were told it had been in for 2 days. They then told us that they would deliver it on Saturday but the delivery guys would ring on Friday night to give me a time window. This did not happen. On Saturday we received a call to say our fridge would be delivered in 45 mins but it was nearly an hour and a half before it was delivered. own the fridge door. When we rang the store, I was asked to send a photo of it before they made a decision of what to do. Soon after we were told that they would replace it with another fridge that day however I was told that I had received a phone call earlier that week to say the fridge was in, however there is no missed call, call received or message on my call register. When I mentioned that,I was told that I was wrong. we received a second fridge that day with an even larger scratch and dent and when we rang the store manager he was going to take both fridges away and leave us without one until they could get us another. Fortunately he realized we did not have a fridge at home because our old fridge and freezer had been removed when we were delivered the first fridge. When speaking to the franchisee I mentioned that I had been accused of lying by his staff member about the phone call and his response was, that’s not what my staff said. I then mentioned that I was told on Friday that I would receive a call about when the fridge was going to be delivered and that I had been told that the staff member had spoken to the delivery guys. When I spoke to the delivery guys they said they had not been spoken to by anyone regarding contacting us. The franchisees response was to is at he will have to speak to his staff and please accept his apology. That was it! A $3000 fridge, delayed, 2 with scratches and I have been lied to, accused of lying and then fobbed off and I get “please accept my apology “. I am astounded and will ensure my family and friends are aware of the poor customer service from this store.1 comment

HUGE SCAM
computer breaks, you take it in to computer service section, its under extended warranty, we will send it away for you, they send it away,, after a couple of weeks !! one month later I get a call from Melbourne, you need xyz parts, but we can replace it on warranty, no I want my computer back fixed..... 4 days later its going to take another 3 weeks for your parts would you like a credit and get a replacement computer, no, get the parts I want my computer back,,,,, was I alone, talking at work,, same story for others, so they get you to ditch your old computer, get another one,, and get another freeking warranty,,,,, bad bad people,,, mine is in mackay qld

Lounge quality
The back pillows of the Pemberton Lounge are very poor quality. Within 4 months we found them collapsing. A specialist came out and said we just need to keep puffing them up. Problem is puffing them up doesn't bring them back to shape. The pillows need a foam insert wrapped with dacron.

Liars
Bought 2 mobile handsets from Harvey Norman just over a year ago. One unit has now failed twice. The first time I dealt with the manufacturer and the device was replaced. The second time we chose to go back to the retailer*.
First, I was lied to on the phone by Kit, the staff member who dealt with technical problems. He falsely told me that he had called Consumer Protection and that I was not able to return the phone as the manufacturer had already done so once. spoke to when I asked, but initially I gave him the benefit of the doubt However, when Consumer Protection told me moments later that I was entitled to deal with Harvey Norman still, it was clear that Kit’s supposed call was fake news. I immediately transmitted my advice from Consumer Protection in an e-mail immediately to Kit. Some days later, I received a text from the store accepting that I was entitled to a refund and to bring the item and accessories to the store. Well, after a year, I no longer have any idea where the specific items from the box now reside and was thus unable to produce the items. At this point I was informed that no refund would be possible without them. A manager, Vijay, was summoned. After a discussion in store with Consumer Protection, we were informed that indeed, HN was entitled to ask for the accessories and the bonus Chromecast that was noted on the receiptOk, sure. Really unreasonable
Give you the run around.
What one staff member says the next one won’t back up. Three faults and no sorry. No fridge now and still forced to wear the cost of the delivery fee.

You need to talk to them about the delay and find out if they are waiting on the product to be delivered to them to on deliver to you. They may have it stuck on the dock. You would be entitled to cancel I am sure but then you may have to wait a while for your new order. Talking to them would be the best resolution
Will I get my deposit back? Or they are entitled to deduct 20%
The logical thing to do would be to contact the store asking here wont give you the answer

I have submitted a complaint online and received a response a week later to say they would contact me. 3 weeks later I am still waiting. I am appalled at their lack of customer service. I won’t be purchasing from them ever again
