Great car
Car use is 5 days a week to work and home. The car is fuel efficient, and extremely comfortable to drive.
Engine is slow to pick up from a stop, but has good high end torque. Brakes are very responsive in wet and dry.
Have found no mechanical issues, although not due for service for some time.
Highly recommend anyone to purchase this model and make of vehicle.
Purchased in July 2021 for $16,999.00.

Simply a great car...not just great "for a Chinese car"
I purchased this car on 1 July 2022 and I've waited about 6 months before writing this review. This is so I can give the reader a detailed "long term" review reflecting 6 months of ownership. At the time of writing the car has travelled about 4,000 km.
I have another car which I use for work and the Haval is entirely our private "family use" car. It does the regular grown family stuff like shopping trips, miscellaneous errands, dump runs, family transport and so on. I can assure you this review is an honest and accurate review of my ownership ...Read more
experience over 6 months. I use the car almost daily. I would buy another one of these cars in an instant if I needed to and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others. The biggest hurdle to overcome, I believe, is the negative attitudes and perceptions towards and around Chinese cars. This was justified with earlier Chinese efforts in our market but the current crop of Chinese products - and the Haval H2 - is excellent and worthy of very serious consideration. The Haval H2 is perfectly acceptable for the average Australian motorist. If you can overcome the inaccurate mindset that Chinese cars are seriously deficient, poor quality and unsafe you can save a small fortune and find yourself behind the wheel of a very nice car. In my opinion, Chinese made cars are the future in Australia and probably in the rest of the world as well. In this review I want to cover the things that are important to the average punter. I am no car expert and I hope to give you a clear idea about how this car can or can't fit into your family. The build quality, fit, finish and engineering are at least as good as any product from South Korean, US, European or Japanese manufacturers that are intended for mainstream consumers. Those with a bias against Chinese cars should remember that most of the components in their preferred car brands are almost certainly made in China! For example the Haval H2 has a Chinese made licenced Bosch branded braking system which I’m quite sure would be in many cars. Ok so enough of that and on to the car. Styling is subjective so if the H2 doesn't look like something you could live with it's probably pointless reading further. Obviously it looks fine to me because I bought it. You must make your own decision on this.Purchased in July 2021 at Performax Haval, North Lakes Queensland for $26,000.00.

Awesome car, never had anything with so many features. It’s great to drive, enjoyable and smooth and quiet
I use the car everyday for school pick ups and drop offs, doing the shopping and driving a distance to work. The headlights are great at night, and I am enjoying the automatic lights and wipers. It’s also a bit of fun with the push button start and just putting your hand on the door handle to unlock the car.

Great car for my wife and I
I've read some of the reviews with a negative report such as turbo Lag gear changing problems the satnav being to slow.
All we can say about this car is that if its driven like a racing car than you could get some problems, but if driven as a normal than you will find it extremely pleasant.

Don’t buy this car
So far our experience i as follows;
3 replacement turbos
Electrical faults
Engine mount issues
Loss of power
Faulty Breaks
Missing engine nuts
After care service is extremely unprofessional and cowboy like attitude. Haval don’t care about the safety of there customers, nor do they want to do anything about a brand new car with so many issues.
My advise is

The Haval...have it all!
The Haval H2. Here is an interesting one. Firstly I read reviews carried out in 2016....(pictures of some reviewers, they look very young, so.....). No surprise, highly suspicious and critical of this "how dare they" Chinese brand, giving it a 4/10. Then I bought a Chinese little commuter motorcycle. It has provided a faultless over 12 500 Kms of very economical commuting and finish wise, still looks new. So when the wife's 2000 KIA Rio hatch (remember the suspicion when KIA first came out?) had moved on past its use by date, I decided to look ...Read more
at the Haval H2. Firstly the paint finish and build quality, are as good if not better, than any Japanese or in fact, to me, European car out there, certainly in this price range. I drove it, same result. Yes the engine isn't going to get you invites to local drag racing events....around town will the wife notice....don't think so! She will be far more impressed with the electrically adjusted, lumbar support adjustable, heated leatherette seat, for when her back is a bit sore after a days teaching.... The Haval Lux model, at $24990, its a LOT of car for the money, with more bells and whistles then you could reasonably expect. Auto wipers, lights, folding large mirrors, climate control aircon, the list is long. The cruise control steering wheel controls are very user friendly. Interior room is more than satisfactory. Good rear leg room. Boot is on the shallow side, but the trade off is, you get a full size spare alloy wheel and easy to get to. As mentioned, driving dynamics to me are as good as any mainstream product with no squeaks or rattles. You sit nice and high. Rear view is not great, but again this is compensated for by a reverse camera and a left wing mirror camera to avoid scraping those lovely alloy wheels on the curb! Interestingly enough, as for 2017 road reviews....now they are giving it a 6/10! Suddenly it's a case of "actually the Haval is pretty good...." the H9 was voted the number 3 4X4 of the year, by Aus 4X4 magazine....No, the H2 is not perfect, fuel consumption is higher than ideal for example but we will see. Basically the overall package I thought, is good enough for me, so buying one this Saturday and will update this review as we live with the car. After all, my i Pad was made in China....so is almost everything in the house!!9 comments

ooler box. Removal of rear boot cover, easily done, is an option for more space, but we didn't need to. well on the road, I was pleasantly surprised. The 1500 turbo engine cruised quite happily at 100kph, indicating just under 2000rpm, pretty low rpm, which as expected with low rpm, showed good fuel economy. The cruise control worked well and could maintain the speed over most hills due to the good torque produced by the engine. When the gearbox changed down for hills, changes were very smooth, only noticed by rpm changes. In fact this German Getrag six speed box is impressive. I was not allowing the engine to rev too high due to it being brand new. When it's run in, I think it will cope very well. Even on the M1, cruising at 110kph, the motor was very relaxed. Yes accelerating to overtake is slow, but it's moving a lot of car and I found it not a problem. Well as for driver comfort and ride, again I was very impressed! The seats were very comfortable on this 5 hour trip and the leatherette upholstery felt cool and well vented. The aircon kept us nice and cool on a 27 deg day. The suspension and those big 18 inch alloys handled the bumps very well, even the rough uneven sections of M1 concrete highway. To me the steering is well weighted at cruise and the car tracks straight without being jittery. Really impressed. Was actually fun driving something unusual, we got some curious looks! In the Singleton Macs carpark, the Havel stood out, it is really a good looking SUV. We saw just one other Havel on the road, an H6, but saw a few GW double cab Utes. I enjoyed the auto headlights automatically coming on in the Sydney tunnels. The kids were more then happy in the roomy rear seat. Really for the money, the H2 is a bargain. I hope Havel get a foothold in the Aus market, they deserve to. Very happy with our H2.Well we have some red faces with the "Chinese junk" crowd, as recently the Haval H2 was awarded a 5 star ANCAP crash safety rating.....

Haval H2 Australia Review.....after driving 2000kms......Overall GOOD Car......with one or two pain points......rear seatbelts are harder to click in..........refilling petrol not as smooth as others.......... i.e refilling nozzle has to be pressed in harder then compared to others not convenient but not a hassle........
The Saudi Haval H2 specification vehicle is probably different to the Australian version so it's difficult to give objective advice. For a start, the Saudi version is left hand drive, the Australian version is right hand drive. Also, to the best of my knowledge, the 2020 model has not yet arrived in Australia so I can't yet offer informed comment. I suggest you use a review site from another left hand drive market where the H2 is available for sale. The Haval China website is available in English and the Chinese specification would probably be the same as the Saudi spec'...but who knows.
