I was recommended the Hayward Tiger Shark QC 5 micron by The Pool and Spa Warehouse . Disgusted in the customer service from the Pool and Spa Warehouse they told me if I lived in Sydney they can help me but because I live in Melbourne they can’t help me. I wish they had of told me this when I purchased the Shark for $1700 and they delivered it to Melbourne. They also told me Hayward were hopeless so no point going to them.!! Stay clear of the Tiger Shark and the Pool and Spa Warehouse
Purchased in September 2018 at Pool and Spa Warehouse for $1,680.

The power supply unit died on its third birthday. (20 days outside of warranty).
Unable to repair, the purchase of new power unit at a cost of $750 was the suggestion.
My first pool cleaner lasted approx 15 years and its replacement about 10 years.
Hayward Tiger Shark ($1690) was highly recommended by pool shop owner barely made it to 3 summers.
Amortised over the usefull life, Hayward products just don't stack up and people should steer clear of them.
Purchased in December 2018 at Buy and Fit Pool Shop for $1,690.
Worked poorly, didn’t clean as well suction cleaner that it replaced and electrical failure a month outside warranty. No backup and no support very frustrating. I gave up. Don’t touch this product.
Purchased in October 2022 for $1,500.
I had the aquavac 500 and was extremely happy with it until something went wrong 18 month later (to bad because it was an excellent robot). They told me they had a lot of issues with it so they gave me the TigerShark Qc and like bloody fool I accepted the offer and "Oh, boy! " what a peace a JUNK. I will never spend one dollar with HAYWARD again but I guess the Joke is on me.
Purchased in July 2018 for $1,800.

I bought the machine from Pool and Spa Warehouse 4 days ago. The salesperson recommended it is an excellent robotic cleaner. I paid $1699.00 for it. However, it was dead when opening the box. The power supplies does not work.
Took it back to the seller, the man told me that many people complained about the power supplies but he cannot exchange. I will be sent for repair. I I was told there is a problem with power supplies I would not buy it.
This is a brand new cleaner that did not work even one second and I could not exchange. I am really disappointed at the sale and service. I do not have any confidence in Hayward machine.
Purchased in April 2021 at Pool and Spa Warehouse for $1,699.
Had the QC for about 10 months & have generally been impressed by its cleaning ability. However I have the following complaints: 1. One of the filter elements has detached from its frame. This began very soon after purchase. The other filter is still good. The cleaning is still good in spite of 2. I also have my doubts about its "intelligent" abilities as it spends far too much time cleaning the pool walls and there seems no user control over this function. The pool walls are normally much cleaner than the floor and dont require this amount o...
Read moref cleaning 3. Hard to avoid cord tangling although this is a common problem with most pool cleaners. Summary: QC seems well made and still cleans fine pool dirt much better than others I have used, but I do believe the technology is available to make this product significantly smarter than it is. Also much more user control would be great.Purchased in April 2020.

We bought this unit 5 yr ago and has been the best pool cleaner ever. It broke a side cover roller support a while back but I bought a new one and replaced it along with 2 new rollers and filters. It climbs the wall and the steps and does and excellent job all round.

We purchased this just over 2yrs ago and all of a sudden, stopped working. Took it to the repair shop - $800 for the motor + another $300 for parts and labour. The cord tangles regularly and the lid is difficult to open. It is also heavy to pull out of the water. I would not buy thin again. After sales service in Perth were less than helpful. Didn't climb the walls very well either.

I purchased this 2.5 years ago, loved it came with a 3 year warranty. After 6 months it died, it was repaired. It worked once, it died. I took it back and was told dont leave it in the pool too long, so it was repaired and I used it once and it died again. This time I was told dont leave it out of the pool or in the sun too long. I used it once and it died AGAIN. Its still within its warranty but Im probably better off throwing it away. If you can afford to buy one every 6 months then its epic, but after its failed it will never be the same. The blue filters are a good investment too.

I have had a creepy crawly and a barracuda. as soon as the saw a big leaf or a twig they gave up. Honestly this tiger shark is terrific. I have a monstrous gum tree over hanging my pool and it drops crap in my pool year round. I love this robot. I understand some people expect miracles but don't say its useless because that's not true.
Purchased in May 2022.
Sorry Hayward, the product doesn't match up to your marketing. The machine has broken just after 3 years of well-maintained use (requires a new motor). Repair cost exceeds $1200, and the response from Hayward is a polite 'tough luck'. Sold as a high-end robot, the durability is anything but. My recommendation is to steer clear and buy according to reliability.

I used a Polaris for quite a few years but did not really have the supply pressure to make it work really well. Not a Polaris problem.
The is pool is 4.5m * 11m. Lots of leaves and berries and quite a bit of dust. Not too many branches.
The TigerShark works very well, although not quite as "intelligent" as the write up.
The cleaning is more or less random, but it does like one area of the pool, a lot.
It also likes to climb the walls. Various adjustments do not make any difference.
I set it for 4 hours and the pool looks good. Sometimes I help ...

We’ve had ours for about 2.5years. Stopped working after a month, and had to have it replaced. Worked well for about 6 months then had to bring it back. They replaced the external cables. It stops working for no reason and then will start again after afew days. We have a square pool, and constantly gets stuck in corners or on steps. Spent about $150 getting the tracks replaced because they kept coming off. That still happens and pushes the trap door clips open, so when I take it out of the pool, all the crap falls out the bottom back into the pool. For $1500 spent, I expected it would last 5 years..... going to have to replace it over the holidays. Not a happy customer

Tried several pool robots, and finally had to choose between the dolphin and Tigershark. The Tigershark was cheaper, less complicated, much lighter to carry, and the rep (in my case) more reasonably. Works flawless since 3 years. I don't believe it actually learns your pool layout, but its random program in the end gets everywhere, and frees itself of any entanglement, not necessarily in the most efficient way though. I have a Fiberglas pool and the climbing capability are enormous, too much really. I had to use various ways of limiting...
Read more the waterflow and put balast on the robot, otherwise it climbs to high. After a year, when the filter become slightly clogged, it works actually better and now its just right. I would wish for a program the keeps it on the bottom, because for me it spends to much time cleaning the waterline. The dirt container is big and it is pretty good in also collecting larger depres. Fairly easy to clean. The main problem is squeezing out the air of the rollers to make it sink to the floor, best not to let them dry out. Another problem is that somtimes the lock for the dirt compartment can dislodge, and release the dirt as you lift the robot out. One needs to watch that. On the whole I am happy with it and think its simplicity is its strength. It keeps the pool floor, walls and steps very clean. The two programs take 90 or 180 minutes, but you can always take it out earlier.- 3 reviews

[Has this product improved the appearance of your pool?]
I cannot work out what pattern it uses - seems to be random. But, when I go away and come back, the pool is spotless, so can't complain.
[Do you find the pool cleaner easy to use and maintain?]
I do not have a lot of debris coming into the pool from trees, so I sometimes do not need to empty out the compartment. Our pool is also fairly modest at 7m x 3m.
I set it up for my neighbour recently, who does have many trees around their larger 13 x 4m pool. The debris was filling up t...

Hi Hayward love my Tiger shark QC
Just have a question found small round anchors on the bottom of my pool any chance it’s from my Tiger shark?
I bought a Tiger Shark robotic pool cleaner around 2 years ago, the cord which is attached to it is tangled continuosly and therefore restricting the machine from going the distance. What can I do to solve this issue please.

My Hayward Tiger shark is about 2 years old. I was cleaning the filters today and noticed a quarter cylindrical foam section about 100mm long sitting loosely inside cleaner. It must be something to do with cleaner as it is far too large to have passed the filters. Anyone have an idea?
