WORST WEBSITE EVER
(1) As an old customer, I thought I’d take a look at Hello Fresh website.
(2) I was prompted to reactivate my account again, which I did thinking I could get in to see prices menus etc. Little did I know that doing that doing that I reactivated my ORDER!!!
(3) I got a message saying there was a problem with payment - The credit card was expired - Phew! I thought that was lucky cause I didn’t want to order I was just having a look.
(4) Next I get a survey asking what I thought of my delivery - WT? I answered “I am not a customer” They came ba...Read more

For this to happen, you need to click the "Reactivate & Select Meals" button if you're on our website, or the "Reactivate Now" button if you're on the app and then follow the steps to continue your subscription again. Whenever an account is cancelled or reactivated, it automatically generates an email confirmation so you're always aware of the status of your subscription. Hello fresh took my money
I received a text saying my delivery will be tomorrow.
I rang hello fresh and was on the phone to a guy for nearly 30 minutes to actually be told I did the wrong thing.
I placed an order received a confirmation email and then changed my mind straight away so I cancelled it. I received a confirmation email stating that I had cancelled my order.
I checked my account they have taken the 110 dollars out and told me I have cancelled my subscription and not my order even though the email I received stated my order was cancelled.
They offered me 50% back of my 110 which I declined when I had done the right thing, received emails from hello fresh stating I had done the right thing.

Whilst we are a flexible subscription service, meaning you can cancel your deliveries (so long as it's before our Tuesday 11:59 PM deadline), your first order is a little different. The reason being is that you pay for this order as soon as you complete the checkout process. Once that first order has been confirmed with us, and you have your confirmation email, you are definitely welcome to change your mind, however you do need to reach out to our Customer Care Team and let us know. That way, we can process your refund and manually cancel your confirmed delivery. Keeping the channel of communication open with our customers is a big priority for us, so you will receive an email to confirm your account is cancelled, which should confirm your delivery is still arriving. If your email did state that the first delivery was also cancelled, we absolutely agree that you should not be out of pocket for this! Orders are failing to skip or cancel
I tried a complimentary box from HF and decided that i didnt want to go ahead with the next weekly delivery as i was told that i was about to lose my job so i went onto the App before the cut off date and pressed "skip"for the next delivery. The next night i received a message to advise that they had tried to take monies from my account for the next delivery. I tried to call them and received an automated message to say that the lines were congested, so i went onto their website and wrote a message advising that i had skipped this weeks deliv...Read more
ery and asked them why they were still going ahead with the order, i advised them that i had cancelled my account and did not want any more deliveries...that was on Wednesday. Saturday evening i received an automated message to say the delivery would be coming between 1-6 pm, thinking it was an automated message i didnt take any notice as i hadnt actually paid. Sunday afternoon while out at the supermarket i received a call from the delivery driver advising that he had dropped off my hello fresh delivery, i advised him that i didnt want the delivery and asked if he could take it back, he refused saying that he wasnt allowed to. I received an email today advising me that my Account was "paused"as i hadnt paid for my last delivery so i called the company and spoke to a very rude man who continued to argue with me and accuse me of not selecting to skip my order. I asked him why a company would be delivering a package that hadnt even been paid for in the first place? I told him that the company should be ashamed of themselves for acting this way with so many people in bad situations at the moment. He continued to tell me that if i didnt pay the $60 it would escalate and be sent to debt collectors and by the looks of the reviews its not the first time that this has happened either. Hello Fresh..i didnt apply for credit with your company...therefore you should not be dropping products off to me without a payment first. I skipped the order, then deactivated my plan, then contacted your company firstly by phone, then in writing, i skipped before the cut off date and gave your company sufficient notice to cancel my order. Terrible customer service in a time where people have lost their jobs, money is stretched and trying to feed children healthy meals. Items missing. Recipe cards not all supplied. Vegetables not fresh. Charged twice although checkout was clear when first order went in. Very misleading when placing first order and gourmet etc. didn't register as any extra dollars. Conveniently billed for gourmet a few days later. Why 2 bills? Clearly to mislead people.

Round and round in circles on the app and website which only provide a little box to type questions in that a generic answer comes back at you. After a bit of googling I found a contact number as the first number provided through the app didnt even work. This experience was to try and save money and for my eldest daughter and I to test out if this is something our family of 9, yes 9 could benefit from. Clearly it is not a reliable service or customer friendly service. I'm very disappointed. I have been told that my money will be refunded and no more money taken from my account. Our Gourmet meals are an extra $5.95 per person as they are a 'treat yourself' option to make one of your meals a little more exotic or premium. This meal is highlighted in black and has a +$5.95/person note in the corner of the meal selection, as well as this changing the order total once selected, so we're really sorry if this was missed. We pride ourselves on being a completely flexible service up until our deadline, so you can select the Gourmet recipe, but then change your mind if you have a change of plans or someone in the family would prefer something else from the menu! For this reason, the additional charge is only taken once the deadline has passed and your selections are locked in. We can't apologise enough to hear that there were items missing or of poor quality in the box that arrived. Our produce arrives to us incredibly fresh each week and all ingredients go through thorough quality checks before being packed in our warehouse, so it's really concerning to hear that this wasn't the case! If ever issues like this arise, we always conduct thorough reporting to get to the bottom of it and ensure that the issues don't recur. Our customers shouldn't be inconvenienced for an error on our end so we would love the chance to make it up to you! Not the same as when we first signed up
I have been a loyal customer for a long time now, and when we first signed up the quality of the food was amazing and I really felt they lived up to their name Hello Fresh. But over time I can see that the loyal customers receive the older produce and the quality standards dropped dramatically. They must give the fresh produce to new customers to keep them re-ordering. Now they saw that in these times they have to substitute produce but all they have been doing is not putting the produce in and not substituting but still charging me the same amount. So watch up if you are a loyal customer as this does not really mean much

During these difficult times, whilst there is plenty of food available, due to unusual buying patterns, some ingredients have become difficult to source in the time time we have to pack your meals. This means there may be occasions where we are unable to provide an ingredient for your recipe. Where we can, we'll be sure to swap it for something similar and just as tasty. If however, we are unable to source an appropriate substitute, your account will be automatically credited. We are so sorry to hear that you experienced such a decline in the quality of your produce. As a service based on freshness and convenience, these string of hiccups do tend to defeat the whole purpose - I'm so sorry we didn't live up to our promise. We still pack all of our orders by hand so, despite extensive quality assurance testing, some errors can still slip through and a minor flaw leaving the warehouse can turn into something much more noticeable by the time you're opening your kit to cook. If issues like this ever occur, it's important that they get reported to our Customer Care Team so we can communicate this to our Warehouse and suppliers. That way, we're able to investigate how these issues are occurring and take the appropriate steps to prevent them from occurring again. Frustrated with HelloFresh
We have liked and used HelloFresh for a long time. However....in the current environment they have not rewarded customer loyalty, choosing to aggressively pursue new customers, as a consequence some of us now have wider delivery windows and as advised today, ingredient substitution. If they were looking after vulnerable populations, we would understand. If the substitution was for logical reasons (supply issues) we of course would completely understand. But I am sure they have decided expansion is the best policy - is about the dollars and of course they now can't delivery for all customers on the books... I suspect at the end of this period, they will loose some loyal customers.

We cannot apologise enough that we have had to extend your delivery window. Whilst our third party Delivery Partners were previously able to offer smaller delivery windows to customers in our metro areas, in the current environment this is sadly not possible. This is not only due to not only an increased interest in HelloFresh, but a greater need for temperature-controlled food delivery services across Australia, which has put a huge amount of pressure on our couriers. Whilst there is no shortage of food in Australia, unusual buying patterns have made it harder to source some ingredients than previously, meaning that we haven't been able to source some of the ingredients as promised on the menu previously. We are working closely with our suppliers to ensure that these occurrences are kept to an absolute minimum, and we have a dedicated team who carefully choose each substitution so your recipes are just as delicious. Whilst we are up-scaling our operations to be able to deliver to more Aussies at this difficult time, this definitely is not at the compromise of our existing and loyal customers. From there, head to Plan Settings, and then there will be an option to cancel your meal plan. Just what is needed in these times!
I have been using HelloFresh for about 2 months and only planned on using during the promo period. However I can't believe how much I am enjoying it. I must be one of the world's worst cooks but it is amazing the quality, tasty meals I can turn out with HelloFresh meals - you make it so simple for anyone to turn out fresh and tasty meals. Delivery to my door was always a big plus for me but especially now with isolation in place. Only negative is the excess packaging.

Saves me heaps of money
I am loving Hello Fresh for my two adult kids and myself. We order three dinners a week for 4 people and there are always left overs for lunches.
It is saving me heaps of money cause I am not down at the supermarket as often buying things I dont need.
Not having to meal plan is such a great relief. Simply open my fridge and grab a bag of fresh food out and start cooking.

The food is tasty but lots of plastic packaging
Our family has been using Hello Fresh for two months now. We really enjoy the recipes, the food and delivery service to our door. Unfortunately there is a lot of soft plastic packaging used to individually wrap herbs. I am disappointed that at freezer gel packs can not be returned to Hello Fresh or effectively recycled. I think the company should explore reducing the amount of soft plastic packaging used. It would be great if they implemented a return system for the gel freezer packs so that they can be cleaned and reused.... Once you have 2-3 Gel packs in your freezer, that all that one household needs to keep. It feels so wasteful to be throwing the gel freezer packs away.

We really appreciate you raising this concern - we are listening. Packaging can be a challenge because as a service based on convenience, it's our job to ensure your produce arrives fresh and safe to consume. For those ingredients that do require packaging to survive the journey, we are using recyclable and plant-based options wherever possible! We used to collect boxes but unfortunately, this didn't comply with regulations set by the local Food Authority due to the risk of contamination at the warehouse. We're always looking for new ways to improve our packaging, whilst making sure your food arrives fresh and in the condition you’d expect.Our ice pack packaging can be recycled as soft plastics - simply dispose of the water-based gel and you're set to go! The good news is, by supplying the correct portions for each ingredient, we cut down food wastage in households, not to mention the reduction of food wastage in the supply chain. We never purchase spare ingredients, all produce is specific to the number of orders each week. Sustainability really is one of our biggest priorities at the moment. Our team is working on new, sustainable solutions for our packaging as we speak! Hello Fresh has been very useful for nights when we are super busy. The food is good quality but sometimes lacks variety. The one down side is the packagin - I feel like it isn;t very sustainable and could have less plastics!

Best thing I’ve done
Love love love knowing exactly what we’re having for dinner, no need to go shopping, just open the bag, recipe card on hand no waste and always delicious. It’s so easy.

Hi, So our vegetables and everything has been delivered frozen, how can I thaw the vegetables so don’t get soggy? I had to throw out frozen zucchini because when I thawed it - it was then waterlogged. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Oh no, your veggies should definitely not have arrived frozen, we can't apologise enough to hear that this happened! It sounds like perhaps the temperature control inside the delivery truck may have been having a bad day.

How does one add on a fruit box to an order already registered?

Thanks for getting in touch!
Usually, you can add any extras, such as Fruit Boxes, Snack Boxes and Sides when you select your meals. However, we are experiencing operational constraints in the current situation, which means we are unable to pack Fruit Boxes.
We're really sorry about this. We want to help your fellow Aussies as much as we want to help you, and we believe focusing on packing meal kit bags is the most effective way to do this for the time being. Once fruit boxes are back online you will see it listed under our weekly add ons.
