Wow!
Yes there were one or two tiny niggles but that's all part of a good holiday story to tell the grandchildren oneday. Yes the boat leaked a bit of rain and dew above the beds, but we got to experience staying three nights on the mighty Hawkesbury, an experience bar none. Yes the water pump was noisy but we simply turned it off when not in use like we were instructed to do to save electricity (this also prevented is from running out of electricity). Yes the fridge wasn't as cold as our fridge at home (and what gas powered fridge is) but we did our homework and took frozen meat with us to help the fridge out and kept drinks in an esky (in fact now I'm just lying, it was winter and the fridge froze most of our vegetables

Stunning Hawesbury
We have just returned from 6 nights on the beautiful Lady Madonna the 47 ft Elite cruiser. The boat is very spacious & comfortable with 2 double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen & a large deck up top which we used constantly. We would definatley hire from Holidays A Float again.I think you would be very hard to please if you did not enjoy this houseboat. We found Karen & her staff to be very friendly, knowledgeable & professional.

Never Again!!!!
Where do I start.....
Owners (Steve) are very rude and have no idea about 'Customer Service'
Boats are very very old, bed mattresses uncomfortable, bed sheets and pillows not clean, sofa bed sunken in and stained, kitchen utensils not clean. The fridge doesn't work properly and and we had to throw out a lot of food. The hot water wasn't working when having showers. We had to call them to get someone come out and fix the issue. You would think this would of have been checked by the crew before allowing customers on the boat. Toilets smell afte...Read more

Holidays Afloat & Ripples provide outstanding service.
My family have enjoyed multiple bookings with Holidays Afloat throughout 2016, and we are looking forward to several more in 2017.
We choose to take the train to Hawkesbury River train station, and we are delighted when the friendly staff pick us up and drive us to Brooklyn. The conversation on the way is always a pleasure, and a great way to start.
We also choose to have our groceries delivered to the marina, and the staff ensure our food stays chilled until we can pack it on-board our vessel. They also supply ice, bait, linen, trolleys, a...Read more
nd even audio cables. They really do go above and beyond, before we have even stepped onto the boat. The crew/deck-hands are also very professional and friendly. They communicate safety and driving instructions eloquently, and as such my wife and I always feel confident that we can manage driving the houseboat, and safely hitch to a mooring, or anchor. The boats are always clean and the on-board facilities are always in good working order. We feel very well accommodated in a little home away from home; on the beautiful Hawkesbury River. Thank you Holidays Afloat and Ripples. You will be seeing us again and again. Paul and family.

Great weekend away
Great weekend away with the boys. The friendly staff were very welcoming and very helpful. It was a great experience, we lost our dingy and they were more than happy to assist. The boat was clean and spacious.
We are already looking at booking in Dec 2016 as the water should be warmer for better finishing.
I would honestly recommend these guys as it was a very enjoyable experienced

Very rude staff, not really willing to help things out, leaking boat, radio not works, far too weak.
Was really looking forward the trip but not as what I expect.
The tinny leaks water freaking quick, with only 2 on board with a battery and electric engine this thing can have water over your feet around 30 mins which damaged my battery as the result. Worst case I ever see. I had over 10cm water in the boat when I was helpless wait for boat to pass by so we can get a tow. When the staff showed up by the morning 9:30-10:00 (we called in around 7:30 because we stand a place 3km down steam from where the house boat is were told no staff until 8...Read more
:30 or 9 before they open). He said the boat is never leaking. After sunbaked for over few hours and it still have fair bit water in it. Under the seat is empty like a bucket but have more than half the water but still not consider leaking. I don't know what is that then. We request a change over for the tinny when we third call in for help but no tinny came with the rescue and we have to drive the houseboat back to base for exchange which cost us 3 hours driving and we have to pay the gas to do it. The staffs are rude and not helping at all. They laughed us over the phone because they don't think the boat will leaks. I owned 4 boats so far with 6 years on my boat lic of course I know what is a slow leak but at least all my boat fitted with pumps which make the issue not really a issue after all. I got the tinny without anything can move out the water we end up use bait bags to do it all night. No sorry nothing at all. The radio not works after we left even before we cross the rail bridge. It also not working with my portable marine radio as well. Why we have it on boat then?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Another Perfect Holiday on Cowan Creek
My last review I mentioned another trip coming up and we went again December 2015 another 10 Days on the 45ft Family Houseboat thanks to Holidays Afloat /Ripples at Brooklyn. The staff made sure all was good before we left as usual. Even though we go so often they still make sure you know everything...safety plus! We ordered our linen again instead of taking a car load. We arrived early not late this time. After Darryl took us out we planned on going down around Waratah Bay instead of our secret spot. Also stayed at Houseboat Bay for a while an...Read more
d had a swim as the water is crystal clear and it was so hot and now the boats all have swim ladders it makes it easy to climb back on board. Went out in the Dinghy more this trip ...of course have the outboard and did a lot of fish trolling. My Husband got a bit worried as I decided to motor around the point and see Apple Tree Bay, picture perfect, lots of new boats now.... Knowing that boat has ample water and fuel and the motors are serviced on a regular basis you can travel anywhere along Cowan Creek with no drama’s. Decided to take extra food in case we didn't catch many fish...well that did happen. A few I threw back even though they were legal and was in trouble....Decided to venture back up and picked up a mooring in a Bay which we had all to ourselves.( Another Secret one ) Caught huge blue swimmer crabs which I cooked straight away. Went for a few walks at low tide on the sand flats and also checked out the waterfalls. The scenery everywhere just seems to change each holiday and always something new to do. Going past Cottage Point is always different with all the new houses being built on the cliff...The weather was magic and as normal my husband got burned, but I was extra careful this time. 10 Days went so quick and on the last day were the storms that hit Sydney. We were notified ASAP from the staff that we were not to leave our mooring, even asked whether we had anchored and if we did go to a mooring as it was not safe to travel in the storm or be anchored. For our own safety to stay put and leave when all clear next morning. As all the boats all have trackers they know where you are, so we had an extra night and left early the next morning. My Husband & I are so glad that they have the Computer system they do at the Marina, as Broken Bay does get very rough. Holidays Afloat certainly do the best for their customers, both in safety and making sure you have a fantastic Holiday!! Thanks again to everyone at Brooklyn, you made yet another terrific time for us...:) :)1 comment

Cannot be trusted.
I hired two boats from these people, spent over 3k and everything was ok until the end. They had previous damage on the boat but of course it was easier for them to blame us to cover their cost. They were rude and didn't want to help. I don't know how these people sleep at night. Extremely unprofessional.

A Great Holiday
We had a wonderful time after Christmas and over the New Year on our 45' houseboat. There was my wife, myself and 3 sons aged 16 to 21. The staff were wonderful and the boat was a dream to operate. The scenery up the river is beautiful and the fishing fantastic, this is the quieter area. I would love to do this again.
A geat location, peaceful moorings and fantastic staff.
We had to drive from North Queensland

Poor quality vessels.
The quality of the boat I hired was not good.
The pilot light which heats the water blew out, and although the initial 25 minute show-and-tell around the boat by an employee explains how to re-light it, if you forget (which I did), you've got no hot shower water.
The toilet also blocked half way through the day.
There are no fly-screens on any windows so cooking and eating is incredibly hard to do in between swatting flies.
The rear door came off it's tracks also, and me and my mother were unable to put it back on, se we were forced to s...Read more

It was the RIverboat 28, it's name was Estelle I think, or something very similar to that. Honestly I don't think the Riverboat is worth the money, the other more expensive vessels looked great.

" Another Fantastic Holiday with Holidays Afloat" Thanks to everyone at Holidays Afloat/ Ripples, just arrived back again the other day. We did go out again the end of 2013 on the 45ft houseboat for 10 days, but forgot to review that. We have just come back from another wonderful time on the seaway "Victoria" for 7 days. My hubby still insists on going on the 45ft, but the wife won this time...Lol...Holidays Afloat & Ripples staff once again, outstanding customer service.Congrats to some new staff. The seaway not as big as the 45ft of course, but needless to say still a fantastic time. Actually cruised down towards Berowra Waters after being in Cowan creek at a secret spot! For 3 days, never been passed the rd bridge before. Picked up a mooring at Halvemoon bay...3 public ones there. The scenery was spectacular. Being Xmas the houses across from the bay were all lit with Xmas lights, it was stunning at night. Thanks guys...Another trip coming 45ft again..Soon :)' Review on the 17/07/2013 "Holidays Afloat / Ripples at Brooklyn" Holiday 2013 Winter Time 'My Husband and I have been going boating with "Holidays Afloat" for years and years, sometimes twice a year...lost count. The Office staff on arrival make you feel like you are family members as the level of Customer Service is outstanding and the quality of their boats is superb, also, have to get used to having Ripples. We still have to have the normal run down of operations to insure our safety before we leave and also knowing wherever we are on the river it is tracked. We also hire an outboard with our dinghy also, which comes with extra petrol....Linen we also order, why take a car load! We normally go out for 10 Days on the 45ft Houseboat and have also taken the 33ft Seaway called "Victoria" during winter, picture perfect. Not one trip have we ever encountered any problems at all, except me falling out of the Dinghy a few times!! Even after 10 days which goes so fast, we don’t want to come back!! The stories that get exchanged back at the office just make it an enjoyable end of the holiday..... The scenery on Cowan Creek is amazing. Each trip we take there is always something else we see. No other waterway could compare to this, whether it’s raining or so, so hot, it is still magnificent. Eating freshly caught crabs and fish all day is the best anyone could ask for. Holidays Afloat / Ripples once again for all the enjoyable times we have had and hope there are many more to come ...a few more above....:) :)
