This was fantastic while it worked, but two months after warranty expired the retraction spring broke and there is not a replacement part. Not happy for the price I would have thought I would get more than 2 years usage.

I had 2 of these units. after 3 years the hoses started to jam up inside the reel on both units. The feed-in guide failed to operate due to a broken part (pawl and worm gear). Holman refused to supply the necessary part and give any further support. Don't waste your money on Holman products.

My Holman 20 will no longer lock and I see that is a common problem. I had hoped to be able to fix it myself but that appears to be out of the question. When working it is great but not good enough to have this common defect. I rate it just 1 star for looks only.

Frogs enter into the hose reel and are killed in the most horrible way, it is very cruel and then stinks as the frog bodies decompose. There is no way to keep them out. I have to have my hose out all over the ground because I refuse to kill any more frogs.

This unit looks nice mounted to the wall - however we found it to be dangerous.
The pull-back function is so forceful, if the hose slipped from your hold it could seriously injure someone. Children especially could be badly hurt. It felt like we were fighting with it whenever using it. The retracting function gave out after 3 years so it's now useless. Will not be replacing with a retracting hose again and will chose and manual winding model. We did advise Holman of our concerns with regards to serious injury.

Second Holman I've bought. First one wouldn't retract after 4 years. Had Pope at other end of the house which, though noisier, is still going after about 10 years.
Moved house 4 years ago and couldn't remember which one was the good one when I had to buy hoses. Bought 2 Holman 20m for front and rear of house 4 years ago. Front of house ok but other one wont retract. Is 4-5 years normal for mechanism to fail? There is no easy way I can see to get access to see wahat problem is and possibly fix it. Too cheap to get repaired! The modern dilemma. Might try Pope or Certa next. How much worse can they be.

Obviously they need to work on the locking mechanism of this product. So many reviews with the same problem. I have this problem with my 20 meter Holman as well. These are expensive hoses and the quality is not up to standard.

We bought a 20m and a 30m, installed them and tried to use them. Absolutely no flow through the hoses. The water pressure is about half what it was with a hose connected directly to the tap.
They weren't the cheapest, and would expect better. Taking them back to Bunnings today.

2 years old and the retraction lock is broken! Out of warranty and I have read that this is not a replaceable part. Used once a fortnight on average so poor quality I guess. I had hoped for longer life!

Works a treat, was one of only two that the bracket was connected to the middle of the spool. Many others in the market have the bracket positioned at the bottom of the unit causing strain on the bracket. Whilst it is made out of plastic, rather than steel as many items are these days. It carries a 2 year warranty and as it can be sourced from Bunnings they will help if required. I had previously tried another brand and the changeover was so easy.
Works easy and would buy again if another unit was required.

Purchased 3 of these in the last 18 months, all three have failed to brake. Luckily to have been used more than 25 times each and then they fail. Bunnings kindly replaced 1 but I didnt keep receipts for the next 2 and now have 2 that dont work. Not happy and wont be burnt again. Looking at the reviews Im not the only one. Avoid like the plague.

Bought 2 of these from Bunnings. So far, so good but reading the other reviews I'm not holding out much hope. My main complaint is the massive pressure drop through the internal rotary joint. It really is bad.

I was wrong. The pressure drop is not bad, it is HORRENDOUS. With the end of the hose open, the tap on full, the house pump was able to build up pressure and cutout. Unbelievable.

Lasted just long enough for the warranty to run out

This is a junk product
Do not spend your money on it
Beer would be a better investment

Terrible quality. Lasted less than 6 months until it started to leak from the unit and the retraction system broke around the same time. Holmans customer service just responds with why dont you swap it under warranty. Well, i have many reasons why. Two of these reasons are: 1. What a huge waste of plastic destroying our environment during manufacture and then again rotting in a tip. 2. I cant be bothered keeping my receipts and the only way to replace, is to give Bunnings all my details including drivers license number and address to be able to claim a replacement. Shame on Holman for producing such a throw away product and the only recommendation being to replace replace replace when broken.

I had had the 20M retractable hose for a while and the cold weather has worn out the Tap to Reel part. I called their customer service, and [Name Removed] was fantastic on the phone and sorted me out with a spare part replacement. Nice to have products that are repairable, and good customer service is a really nice bonus.

Have purchased 3 Holman retractable hose reels in recent years. 2 out of three gave out after 3 years. The most frustrating problem is the hose coming off the reel inside the casing. Once that happens, you are gone!

This product is made of bad quality.

Firstly, during the time we have had this, the hose didn't retract properly and got stuck anywhere between 1 to 2 meters of hose left dangling out. It would take 4 or 5 attempts to pull it out and back to get it to go back correctly. I had to cut off appro 5 meters of hose to ensure there was enough room inside the casing so as not to get caught up. This helped slightly.

Now a couple of weeks ago as I was using it and there was a clunk inside the casing when extending the hose and now it won't click in and stop at any given point, I have to stand on it to keep it where it is.

Really disappointed with this
