Hasn't missed a beat in 10 years !

published

My euro included as standard every option available at the time. It has been the most reliable car I have owned and the most comfortable. A return trip Melbourne to Perth across the Nullarbor was an armchair drive all the way. If the current models are even half as good they would be worth buying! The only maintenance in over 110,000 has been the normal wear and tear things (tyres, brakes etc). A really great example of a luxury touring car at an affordable price.

Purchased in September 2021.

Realiable family car

published

Bought new and it's the 11th year with 160,000km+. Engine still in perfect condition and purring away. Just make sure you have all the oils changed regularly and this car will do the distance. I don't think i will ever sell this car and will continue to drive it as long as i live. In Australia, Honda's are known for being expensive to maintain but on the contrary, parts are readily available from OEM to third party parts. One of the best honda i've ever owned so far.

Purchased in September 2021 at Honda Dealers for $39,000.00.

Lemon - Unreliable car - Stay Away

published

I have owned Honda for about 7 years, always serviced from agency and around 90000 km. The engine spark plugs got oil in them at 95000 and engine is about to cease. For a car that has done 90000 K this is absolutely a lemon and will recommend customers to stay away from such a car. COST OF REPAIR 5 Grand. Always prefer Toyota over Honda as that is a more reliable car and easily runs for 200 K without major issues.

SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT. SHAME ON HONDA.

Excellent

published

My first ever Honda! It drives smoothly, the handling is perfect, the only thing I’m not sure about is the gear that’s called “S”. But other than that it is a great car to drive. It ok for fuel and it better than my other car was. Good car to drive.

Very comfortable Car

published

This is the best car I have owned. It is my third Honda and they have all been excellent. I have had this 2010 Accord for 4 months and have had no issues. It is quiet and comfortable and has plenty of power. Plenty of head and leg room and a big boot. So far It is using 9.14 L per 100km which is excellent for a car this size.

Reliable family car

published

I owned Accord 2008 V6 Luxury for 4 years and I was happy throughout. I upgraded recently but accord was very good in every regard.

The only issue with this car (and I know many people who own Accord and they complain about the same. i.e, parts are very expensive. Hence it becomes nightmare to maintain it. You tend to leave maintenance sometimes if you're low on budget.

One of the common issues with these cars is engine mount are worn quickly.

Generally it's a good car. I won't recommend it to my family because of above issues but if you can keep up with maintenance, by all means, own this car.

Best family car ever

published

I bought my car during the end of financial year for $23,000, down from $29,000 typical price.

Great driving experience and acceleration.

Very good on fuel, 8L per 100km on mixed highway use.

Dashboard is good and not too plastic like the Camry.

Highly reliable and cheap maintenance cost. I got my own mobile mechanic to do the log book service.

The only bad thing is the arrogant people at Honda sales. My second time buying a Honda at dealership and they always treat people badly.

Excessive oil burner

published

WARNING !!!! Don't by a HONDA.
Affter only 50,000 kms Honda my Honda uses 2 + Litres of oil between regular services.

The V6 had simlar issues in USA resulting in a class action against Honda. The VCM "variable cylinder management system" caused too much oil to enter cylinders.

In my case with the 4 cylinder vti 2.4l it has worn piston rings causing excessive oil burn. This car had only 50,000 kms and used as city car with not much work. Take it to a dealer and all you will get is an offer to do a leak down test at your expense...Grrrrr

Honda are keeping quite about this fault.

Going strong

published

This car has undergone heavy use for almost a decade and still no major issues. The only things which needed repair were the airconditioner that needed regassing and a screw in the door latch that came loose and i could just tighten myself. The only downside is the fastener holding the back interior panel came loose not long after purchase and constantly rattles when driving. May annoy sensitive drivers.

Great Car

published

The Honda Accord is a great, reliable, quiet and fuel efficient car. I have always owned six cylinder vehicles prior to the purchase of my Honda, but I have not been disappointed. It has more than enough power to safely overtake on the open road. It has plenty of room, with great leg room in the rear. Boot space is excellent.

best car I have driven so far

published

I bought a used Accord in 2012, accord V6 luxury -2008. This is probably the best car I have ever owned so far. I had a Lexus-is250 before which was good too, but this accord is much more luxurious. Didn’t have any issue as yet is last 4 years.
This may look like an old man’s car but don’t be fooled, it got more than enough kick. Fuel economy is great too, city freeway combined is 10.4L/100

great car

published

i owned an 2010 VTI LE until it got totalled last week. curtain airbags saved us. did 60K without any issues apart from an airbag light early on that the dealer fixed after a couple of attempts. very fuel efficient, quiet, smooth, safe. way better finished than toyotas. the only thing i would like Honda to improve woulf be to look at brake pad life. brake pads needed to be replaced at 40K which is quite normal for these cars. i would recommend this car and woulod buy another one myself.
smooth, quiet, build quality, efficiency, reliability
brake pads needed to be replaced at only 40K

Great car, but with a few issues

published

I will clarify that I love this car, but want to highlight a few issues:

- Paint chips very easily
- Air conditioner has a known flaw (easily punctured by rocks kicked up by tyres), that is not covered by warranty
- The boot is an inconvenient size/shape (don't plan on family road trips)

Other than that it is very solid and a great car to drive. It is a very smooth drive, and it doesn't have the tinny feel common in other cars it size. Best car at the price point.
Solid, good price

I work in service at a Honda dealer and have not come replaced any punctured AC condensors. I think you were unlucky.

Julie-Anne

I have just found out my Honda Accord 2009 has a puncture hole in the AC condensor with a quote for $774.00 to fix So maybe not so unusual and perhaps a design fault ?

danoz74

Johnt.. It's a known issue, incl US built cars, which are basically the same..For a Honda Mech, you should know this.. Peddle your BS elsewhere please..

Honda Accord 2010

published

This is my third Honda, having had a Civic previously and my partner has a Jazz, which she loves.
It is a very comfortable car to drive and has a smooth ride. Fuel economy is reasonable for a vehicle of its size, as I get around 9litres per 100klm on average, which is mostly short journeys that are too far to walk, yet too short to better the economy.
The back seat area can accommodate two large adults, over 185cm with ease and comfort, and the boot is quite spacious, as I have been able to carry 3 full sets of golf clubs, and 3 good sized suitcases when on holidays.
Good to drive, reasonable economy for its size, reliable
Expensive to have dealer service
