They don't make them like this anymore
This was the first new mower I have ever bought. That was 15 years ago, and its still going strong. It does an extremely good job, has a full width shoot so doesn't get clogged up with wet grass. It's nice and light so very manuverable. Another high quality Honda mower.

Perfect Mower
This is my second Honda Mower, my last Honda I had for 9.5 years and just passed it on to my son. It never missed a beat in all those years, at the start of each season I would install plug oil filter and new blades and away I go. I believe you get what you pay for and I am completely happy with the performance and longevity of the mower.I can see now why all the contractors have Honda mowers. I went back to the shop a week later and got a brushcutter as well and completely happy with it as well.if you need a new mower but one you won’t regret it.Currently on special price so that helps the decision. AAA Rating all round.

Easy to operate
We could not be happier with this mower. It's easy to maneuver, easy to operate and maintain, and it cuts better than any other mower we've owned. It starts easily as well. It's quite solid so it's a bit heavier than we expected it to be but that's not entirely a bad thing.

Good mower, a bit heavy
The mower stars easily and cuts well. I haven't had any blocked chute issues mentioned in other reviews but I don't use the catcher. The mower is heavy but I like the solid build and alloy base and I expect the mower will last for 15 years or more, especially considering it does light duty at my place. My previous Massport only lasted 6 years before the base rusted out and it's briggs and statton motor was smoky.
EDIT: After owning the mower for several months I have had the chute block up in long or wet grass. It's not a big deal for me but would be very frustrating if this was my main mower.

Got a bargain!
I was a bit worried at first...considering I purchased mine basically new yet 2nd hand but Im so glad I did!!! Loving the hose connection so I can clean under it without the spray back I use to get from my old briggs & stratton. It has a safety thing that stops the blades when you let go too which i really like :-) cant fault it so far. Oh the adjustable handles are great for your back too.

Good mower used commercially
I run a mowing business - it’s a tough little mower. 2 summer seasons of solid use (in rain and summer heat) and it just keeps going. I run through a set of mower blades every month to give you an idea of its durability. This is a domestic mower so I find this impressive. The only gripe I have is that the clippings chute is narrow - I believe to increase air velocity into the catcher, but it clogs easily if the grass you are cutting is wet or too long.

Good mower
Bought this mower because of the Honda reputation and it did not disappoint. The mower starts easily and the first time like the advertisement. The built quality of the mower is very good and it cuts well. The only flaw is the chute is small and it tend to block up in long damp grass.

Great mower.
We bought our mower over 6 months ago and love it. We have not had any issues. It's easy to start, does a great job and easy to clean with the hose attachment. It's not too heavy for me to push (female) but also made to last. Highly recommend this lawn mower.

Great mower, powerful!
Purchased this mower 6 months back, due to having a gutless old mower and needed something with more power and easy to start. This mower has the self propulsion which is awesome especially on the hills at our property the mulching feature is just amazing, no need to empty your clippings again! Absolute joy to mow the lawn now, never thought I'd say so!
Only thing there is an issue with, if you stop it soon after you start it, it seems to flood and will take at least 4 minutes to restart, this may been just a tuning issue however, I should take it back to the dealer.
Highly recommend!

Great mower
I am very happy with the Honda HRU19 mower, it starts first time & is easy for a female to use, a very powerful & reliable mower especially on large lawn areas, cut at a nice even level, & I find that it is ok in the damp weather, I have had no problems at all

Very reliable
This would have to be the best mower money can buy. I wasn't keen on handing over so much money at first, but it seems to be money well spent so far. Starts first time very easily and does a very good job. Might cost twice as much as a cheap mower but should last twice as long.

NEVER LETS ME DOWN
We have an accommodation business so having a lawn mower which is easy to use for me (female), reliable and does a great job are imperative. My Honda always starts first time and every time. Never lets me down and our lawns are those to be proud. Bit more expensive than other brands but well worth the money.

I am a big fan of Honda
Every time I am in the market I prefer to buy Honda without a doubt but this time a made a mistake as this model has very good specs, very powerful but the chute was small and can't handle wet grass.
I mean technically who mows in wet grass but in winter months it happens and trust me u don't want to keep cleaning the chute after every 5 minutes specially when u spend $1100.

Not bad, but a few flaws
After owning a number of cheaper mowers over the years, I was after something that was a quality product since we have a larger yard to mow now. So I went to a specialist Honda dealer and spent what these days is big bucks for a mower. I have found that it isn't really worth it. The good part - it starts first time every time. The bad part - the catcher clogs up and the dealer had to install another two blades and increase the revs to fix it. Also, there is a piece of metal sticking out from the handle (safety grip) which constantly hits a...Read more
nd bruises my legs. In summary, the engine is great quality but the rest of the mower (catcher, shute, handle) is poor quality. If I had my time again, I'd just get a less expensive mower from Bunnings. Disappointing that the Honda quality isn't there any more.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this mower. It works a treat!
I got an extra two blades attached to my mower when I purchased it. It starts without much effort and every time. I love the catcher and how it operates. The mower is heavy when turning, but it cuts really well. My old mower had an adjustable choke, but this one is either on or off so when you let go of the handle it just stops. Love my Honda Mower.

Don't muck around with mowers, buy a Honda
I asked the Father-in-law's colleague who ownd a mower store and then sold it but still worked there, what should I buy? He said "Don't muck around with mowers, buy a Honda!" I wasn't buying off him as I was interstate but following his advice I bought the HRU 19D in Dec 2008. I run it on 98 unleaded and it starts first go whether it me or my wife starting it. For maintenance I've only had to change oil, spark plugs and blades and it's 8 years old.
I also bought a Honda trimmer (UMS425U) and I look forward to yard maintenance day as once again it is reliable and easy to start.

Doesn't live up to the Honda Hype
After purchasing a Honda 4 stroke trimmer and being impressed with it, I purchased a Honda Mulch n Catch to replace my aging and rusty Victa Hawk. For an alloy base Mower it is very heavy, both to lift and transport, and to manoeuvre. The blade brake is frustrating to the point of me clamping it on and the lack of any sort of throttle nothing short of ridiculous. The chute is simply too small and clogs easily whether the grass is wet or dry, constantly stopping the Mower to empty the catcher and clear the chute makes an hour job take nearly do...Read more
uble. I've since sold it on Gumtree and replaced it with a classic Victa Pace. Half the cost and legendary Victa reliability. However Honda do make the best engines in the business, it's a real shame they have over complicated what could be a magic machine.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
