It is just perfect for us
It’s been 5 weeks and almost 1000 kms since I got the car. I have the black color but looks gorgeous. This is my second Honda. I don’t drive the car at enthusiasts speed but safe speeds and never found the engine/transmission under spec. Android Auto works like a dream. Camera is good as well as the emergency braking facility. The safety specs are really good. I am hoping for a few great years of good motoring. Will let you know otherwise.

If I could give it no stars and write a review I would!
We were a Honda family for life as they had always provided great service and great vehicles - This was my 5th Honda. As we had enjoyed such great service and cars. We bought the CRV VTI-LX for my husband's work vehicle back in November 2018 it was a demo model and seemed like a great deal- And car fit the brief of what we needed. He was in the car every day and up until this point he loved it. However on the 24th December last year after a couple of very very hot days, the car blew up! We were advised that it was due to a lack of servi...Read more
cing and whilst the car had been serviced we were advised that it wasn't serviced enough (It had been serviced- just not as frequently as Honda suggested) and this was the reason for the motor blowing up. We were quoted over $25000 to have the motor replaced! No help from Honda no consideration and zero help to have the car fixed in any way- Just a whole bunch of finger pointing and ridiculous quotation to fix. Beware when considering Honda is the moral to this story.

Does the job
Very pleased with handling, economy and power.
Only drawback is the wireless, as it relies on this for music and GPS etc - frequently doesn;t work. GPS location is useless
And requires service more than I thought (usually $300 a hit)

Great vehicle, sneaky Honda service and center display issues
Bought my 2022 CR V in 2022.
I had the central display unit replaced under warranty and still having the same problems or worst than before. Honda service people at Kirrawee said they haven't got any upgrades or recalls from Honda. This is very frustrating and dangerous, as the centre display unit keeps changing the program, brightness, display from radio to GPS and back again, last week after aI finished a phone call, the centre unit went crazy again and then started to call my last phone call by itself!
Lucky it was one of my colleagues, if i...Read more

Don't buy this SUV
Don't buy this car. It has many faults especially with the audio unit. It isn't built for Australian conditions and the audio units over heats also. Honda have given me the run around and won't release the spare part to the Honda Dealer for another 4 months. I thought Honda were an honourable company.***Update, Honda decided to send the parts and my car has been fixed. It can take a lifetime to build a reputation and just one decision by a bean counter to wreck it . Maybe if they started the company and not just interested in their bonus they would care about customers more.

Fantastic SUV at an competitive price
I have been looking to upgrade from a 2012 Holden Cruze for a while now and after 6 months of research and reading reviews, shortlisted 3 cars- Mitsubishi Outlander 7 seater, Honda CR V 7 seater and nissan Xtrail 7 seater. We were looking for an SUV spacious enough to stretch out a family of 4 rather tall people (myself at 185cm, my oldest son at 180cm, my wife at 170cm and my youngest at 130cm). After test driving both the Mitsubishi and the Nissan, we had tentatively settled on the Xtrail, but then wife suggested we may as well check out the ...Read more
Honda to cover all bases. As soon as we got inside the CR V, immediately all 4 of us had giant grins on our faces. Dealership handed us the keys and told us to spend the day driving around. 20 minutes later I was back putting a deposit on the 2022 VTI-L seven seater. Build quality wise, the CRV does not disappoint. Have had it for 2 weeks now and have done 1000km of driving. Covering work commute and weekend long drives and getaways. There are no creaking noises, no rattling or feeling like something just fell off the dash. The suspension soaked up road jolts without letting us feel much unless we drove over an obvious pothole. The A/C vents are positioned nicely and having additional vents in the back meant no more getting frozen so back seat passengers can feel the cold air. The dash felt solid and premium, despite the hard plastic. The layer of leather on top was a nice touch. One observation- if you haven't had a leather wrapped steering wheel, you may find this steering wheel a bit slippery. So do allow for sometime to get used to the feel. In Urban driving, the car was nimble with no hint of body roll when turning into sharp corners. Despite its size, it still had the feel of a somewhat zippy sedan. When braking, the leather seats didn't give the feeling you're sliding forward. Both side mirrors gave ample and clear view and the rearview mirror suppmemented them very nicely, allowing me constant peripheral awareness. Starting up the engine, there was the merest hint of a squeal as the engine came to life. As I shifted into D, the car actually felt ready to be driven. The car's electronic parking break is something I'm still getting used to as I instinctively reach for the parking break handle, only to realise it's now a button. One nifty feature I found really convenient, the hold brake function. At red lights I can engage the system and take my foot off the brake paddle and when signal turns green, I can start to accelerate and the system automatically disengages. I have read about noisy breaks, but have yet to experience that issue myself, though I am keeping an ear out. On the highway it is almost whisper quiet as I easily reached the 100 km/h speed limit. When I bought the car, I noted there was sound proofing done wherever I could look. On the road, it did a fantastic job. Later I learnt about the noise cancelling white noise being played through the speakers to balance the road noise (you can see the Mic on the ceiling inside the car) and the result was a pleasant and comforting drive where we didn't have to raise our voices to discuss burning issues of the day such as are hot dogs american food, is a Lambo faster than a ferrari or are tomatoes fruit or vegetable. The full digital instrumentation cluster took a few days to get used to, but now I find it easy to read at a glance, even with the sun shining into it. The infotainment system screen was also easy to read even in bright sunny conditions. Here I did find the first inconvenience. Everytime you start the ignition, you have to manually acknowledge the warning on the screen. The touch screen is nice and crisp. Having said that, the sensitivity had to be increased from default, otherwise I had to firmly press the buttons to get results. I have read about the flickering and the resetting glitch, but have not had that issue come up so far, although just like the brakes, I'm keeping an eye out for it.Purchased in September 2021 at Brisbane Northside Honda for $40,390.00.

Great car
Got it new August 2022 done 6000 km in it very happy with it so far very smooth to drive nice and roomy wife loves it more the only thing I don’t like is the daytime running lights they look good but they are bug catchers on country roads the 2.0l engine is pretty good around town and on highways the infotainment system is ok would be better if they put the better one in it but you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend it

Safety glitches
I purchased my 4th Honda car (CR-V - AWD) in June this year. I travel long distances regularly on highways with speeds of 100 - 110kms. About a month after purchase, the safety camera was faulty and was a safety risk and was replaced. Another problem I am still experiencing however is that intermittently the Brightness control on the touchscreen starts to beep and flicker constantly. The touchscreen does not work while this is happening and then can also go totally blank. The only way to stop it is to pull over, turn off the ignition and re...Read more
start. Very annoying when you are travelling on a highway. Apparently, if the interior of the car or the front screen becomes too warm/hot (which in Australia is a given) this problem will occur and you need to cool the interior down to stop it!! If this is the case Honda should NOT have installed this system into their cars knowing this problem existed (their Owner’s Manual actually has some information on this and keeping the car parked in the shade under trees etc.). Unfortunately I am stuck with this car until I can save for a new one (definitely not a Honda). Can't wait for law to be passed where Car manufacturers will HAVE to replace new cars that have many faults. Another thing that was not considered in the design is that the number plate and reverse camera are now lower than the previous model and when it rains water splashes up to the camera so when you go to reverse you can't see anything, just blobs of water. It is all good and well to have all these wonderful safety features added to cars but I wish manufacturers would ensure that before they roll them out that they are glitch free. Would be interesting to see if anyone else has experienced my problems or was I the unlucky one to purchase a dud this time around. I certainly will not be recommending Honda to friends and family any more.Purchased in June 2021.

They know this model has problems
Brand new car purchased Aug 2018 Honda CRV 2018 AWD
Problem 1, head unit has a mind of its own, when driving on a sunny day if the head unit gets a lot of heat from the front windscreen, the unit will start making adjustments by its self as if someone is touching the touch screen. Honda don’t have a fix for it. Honda have replaced it twice, but they are just replacing it with the same type of unit so essentially replacing the faulty units with other faulty units. It is winter at the moment so all is good, but come summer I will be back again g...Read more

Best car we have ever owned
We purchased this SUV to serve as our "family car", and have never regretted it once. Like most Honda vehicles, I think the great functionality is due to how much thought went into the design. It has a multitude of different functions which are very user-friendly, because all the buttons etc are exactly where you would expect to find them. Having never had forward and reverse sensors before, I now can't live without them because they make parking so much easier. The reversing camera has multiple angles which also comes in handy. In terms of cab...Read more
in space, it has no more or less than your average SUV. With two baby seats in the back, you could fit a thin person in the middle. Depending on the baby seat you have (some rear-facing recline more than others), this can limit the legroom the front passenger has. Although taller than your average sedan, the entire car sits slightly lower than lots of other SUVs out there (but this is more an aesthetic point). Having previously suffered from back pain, I can attest that the CRV seats are very comfortable, and from a lay-man's point of view, fairly ergonomic. The semi-turbo engine makes accelerating so much easier and faster, and it makes the accelerator of other cars seem heavy and sluggish. The only malfunction I have noticed was that during one drive, the entire display began to flick on and off uncontrollably. It did not affect the sound at the time and the mechanic advised simply turning the engine off-and-on (which did fix the problem). If having trouble deciding on models, I personally would say that the satellite navigation (which is included in the VTi-S) is fairly superfluous, as the car has Apple CarPlay so directions can be accessed via your phone onto the car display (however this is a personal preference). It has required an engine oil change and service (at 8500km), rather earlier than what you would expect, and the mechanics blamed it on the fact that we use the car for "city driving" (which seems to defeat the purpose for anyone looking to purchase a car for shorter commutes).Purchased in December 2021.

Spacious SUV
Got the 2022 Vti-S 2022 model from Honda Essendon. I love the space it has compared to other competitors within its range. Loaded with all the safety features and aesthetically beauty from the inside. The exterior design is not the best which I believe the CX-5 is better. Overall, it's not to bad with the comfort and practicality it provides.

Noisy irritating brakes, questionable quality and uncaring Honda
Brand new vehicle, started showing 2 issues within a month.
Issue 1: Brakes squeal, high pitched/irritating noise
Issue 2: Faulty main display - keeps cycling between off/low/high brightness on it's own
Dealer initially tried to brush off both issues. Was told Issue 1 is quite "Normal" and that "all cars brakes squeal"., and demanded proof for issue 2(issue 2 is well known problem with many Honda's-- google it) .
Went back with proof in 1st service, and finally they acknowledged and replaced the main display., thus fixing issue 2.

Fantastic customer service experience
I recently purchased a Honda CRV 2022 model from Autosports Honda Leichardt. The whole process until the delivery was amazing. I would like to thank Suzy Riszk for her patience and fantastic customer service. Suzy took her time time to answer all the doubts I had about purchasing a Honda car. This is the very first time I’ve dealt with a sales person that’s honest and most of all goes above and beyond for her customers. She’s just amazing!!
Not to forget that Jay also did a fantastic job through the process. Thanks so much guys, we are really grateful.

Faulty A/C?
I picked up my new CRV on 30 June 2018 from Suttons Homebush Honda. On 31 July 2018, I have the 1 month/1000km service done.

On 18 May 2022, just 8 days after so called “first year service” done, a “check tyre pressure” warning signal appeared on dashboard while I was driving. I have four tyres pressure checked next morning when the tyres were cold, found tyres pressure were close...Read more
to normal. On 29 May 2022, noticed the AC blow out warm air from the vent, I went to Suttons Homebush Honda for checking out the reasons but was told I need to book in for service . On 4June, 2022, Honda service department guy used the thermometer to check the temperature of the AC, come back and show me the temperature is 20 degree . Happy....so far.
Bought CRV AWD 1.5L.turbo VTSi model in Nov '17, and thus far it's been a little beauty. Only two problems so far, 1) the detent button on the gear shifter broke and fell onto the floor. Common problem, so keep some duct tape in your glove box to hold it in place temporarily so you can use the shifter and drive back to the dealer. 2) Plastic exterior window trim came unstuck, dealer fixed asap.

Break starts making annoying noise after 6 months
Bought brand new CRV VTI-s, after 6 months or so, break started making squeaky noise. Took 1 year service to honda and mentioned that, they actually admitted it is a fault and offered to fix for free but they couldn't fix it,
We had to took take car in service 3 times in total for another look and did test drives as well, at the end they said it is not fault, and we are asked to pay to fix it.
I can't believe the brand new car start having this issue already, and really annoying to driving around now.
Not happy and regret to spent over $35000 for faulty car. Will never buy car from Honda.

2019 Honda CRV VTI-LX
Owned this car for a few weeks now. The car is flawless. Sufficient power from Petrol 1.5 litre Turbo, even on highway. In and out finish is very nice. Be aware that this car does not have blind spot monitoring. In saying that it has every other driving aid you can think of. Full LED front and rear lights with auto high beam for very dark roads. The massive sun roof that comes standard make the car real nice to drive on a sunny day. I would recommend this car. This vehicle was purchased during the Honda 50th Anniversary for $44k from Suttons Honda Homebush, ask for Vik. Cheers Happy Customer.

Excellent car, almost perfect.
Decided to buy the Honda VTI-S AWD for a larger second family car. After doing about three months of research and looking at shortlisted contenders such as the Hyundai Tuscan, VW Tiguan and Kia Sportage. The Honda came out on top in regards to Value for money and features. Having driven it for 18 months now and doing about 16000km, I have found the seats to be incredibly comfortable on long trips (no sore bum), practicality is second to none in its class (can even sleep my 198cm self in the back), fuel economy is incredible (Brisbane to Albury...Read more
cost me $110), easy to maneuver around the city with the family and a great crusier on the open road, Ive been loving the configurable storage console which is large enough to hold our thai and indian takeaways without the risk of them falling over. As with all cars I had some minor issues, at 5000km the change oil light came on, one dealer wanted to do the annual/10000km service (checked the oil myself it was clean and plentiful) and the other said it was a initial quirk with new cars, and had the system reset for me free of charge, (helps to shop around). Have had the infotainment system play up on the rare occasion, screen would flicker and become unresponsive ( turning it off and on fixed it, annoying if it happens while driving though). Electronic brake can be slow to engage, have to pull the button fairly firmly for it to work sometimes. 18" tires are costly to replace when you manage to get a screw stuck in your tire wall, on the plus side having a full size spare it a life saver. Overall a great car, wouldn't have expected anything less from Honda.Purchased in December 2021 at Madill Honda for $35,425.00.
