LOVE everything but the infotainment system
I'm about 5100km into this vehicle and it has ticked every box I need it for EXCEPT for the infotainment screen. It's laggy, you can't slide through your phone contacts because the screen is matte, it doesn't show contact names only the phone numbers. No digital radio either. GPS is pretty poor, I don't even use it. I've had a problem with my bluetooth cutting out while listening to music but the dealers can't seem to fault it. The audio on phone calls could be improved as well. Such a shame they didn't carry the speedo cluster and radio from the Civic or the CR-V. Would be perfect if they did. Poor from Honda.
Purchased in February 2021 at Essendon Honda for $32,000.00.

A nice car with a $20 nav radio and entertainment system
The motor car is fine, The GPS and radio system are frightening.
Screen can't be seen when the lights are on it . Very very mixed feelings on this car. The magic seats are a great help. We have two walkers and with shopping there is not to much help we can expect.

Okay, but some aspects are very poor.
I updated from a 2006 CR-V which was a fantastic car - hence we stuck with Honda. It is not a bad vehicle but it has a few things I do not like on this model...
*The angle of the A/V touchscreen is terrible. At certain times of the day the driver simply cannot read it and it does not adjust. Very frustrating!
*The arrangement/position of the button at the rear to open the trunk is also terrible. There are gaps and bumps everywhere as you feel for the button to open the trunk - it is a very poor design.
*The air-conditioner is weak. Our old 2006 CR-V is a lot colder and more effective - this HR-V's air-con system is a big step backwards.
*There is lots of road noise at high speed.

A nice family car, but there are disappointments
Purchased the 2016 HRV and drove 4000 km so far. I use this car almost every day for short commutes to work and errands. Fuel economy isn't too great (avg. 10.5L/100km) even with ECON mode. The car itself looks nice, especially the front and sides but the rear looks weird... Would prefer a more bold and sharp look there. It was also weird to see plastic wrapping still intact in the small crevices on the doors.
My favourite features would be the effortless steering and audio system. Audio is loud and crystal clear via a Bluetooth connection....Read more
However, I am extremely annoyed at the fact that there is zero support for Apple Carplay or Android Auto. Even in-car navigation is missing, requiring a hefty purchase of over $150 for cable and the app! The audio section fails 90% of the time when trying to display song information via Bluetooth. Don't even get me started on how bad the screen is. You can't see it in broad daylight! Honda needs to up their entertainment head unit badly. The driving is good but not the best. Steering is very nice but there's a bit too much road noise for my liking. All in all, this car was not the perfect purchase, but it'll do for a casual car user.Similar opinion? H-R V is really short for How- Really- Versatile
We wanted a small to medium sized multi purpose vehicle able to accommodate two to five persons, but with the largest volume of cargo space possible & still be suitable for city stop & start driving as well as long trips & the occasional dirt road adventure. The price had to be under $35K with five star safety ratings, reasonable servicing costs, good fuel consumption,& good to drive in comfort in any weather with mininum motor & road noise. Also had to be a long standing known & trusted brand with reputable agents to deal with servicing & any pro...Read more
blems arising. We find this vehicle very easy to manouvre & park in town & performs equally well touring around National Parks, handling twisting mountain ranges with direct steering & a great automatic gear changing range for hills. We tested seven brands & the HR-V came up tops each time even though others more recommended had more power &more gadgets than we needed etc etc, they were motor & road noisy, less load volume, poor driving positions, seating, comfort & all looked like smiling frogs in design configuration!! Also all had higher servicing costs &,higher fuel consumption. We had previously owned various Subaru models & although reliable were extremely expensive to service due to timed costing & replacement parts. We found the HRV had a wider space between the rear wheel arches,a longer length from dash to boot lid & higher space from boot floor to roof than the Forester {& other brands}& so had at least 25% more cargo space. The HR-V has 33 seating variations & best I found is rear bench seat folds up to backrest allowing floor to roof space for trees & shrubs,-to fit in bar fridges,& other tall items & with both back rests folded down we have 1.8 meters from rear door to dash for timber lengths, sheeting, surfboards, ladders etc etc. We can fit 16 archive boxes behind the back seat which is great for our special needs. This cross between a wagon & SUV has too many features to mention as proved in the handbook. I can only find four faults which I have overcome at little expense.First is the small emergency spare wheel which you cant even give away & it costs $400 for a full sized similar spoked wheel & tyre. You toss the foam tool fitting adapter away & the full deal fits into the well easily under the floor cover & with a long bolt & a butterfly nut to fix down tight so no vibration. Put the tools into a bag under the back seat with a torch, towel & water bottle .. Also I find the seat belt lock arm too short by ten centimetres & have to twist upper body to insert & remove.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Like a Jazz on Wheels
Looking for a car with SUV features but small enough to jet around tight city traffic? This is the one! I absolutely love my car! I've owned it since 2015 and it's never given me problems. It's such low maintenance unlike my previous European car that would cost me close to 1K a year to service. I only paid 100 in my first year to service it! Also, super fuel efficient. Amazing boot space as well which makes it easy for me to transport all my gear when I do wedding styling. All round winner for me.

Best car owned
Tried a couple of different makes before purchasing the Honda HRV and what sold me was the size and how quiet it is. The only thing I found are that the seats are a little uncomfortable, but that may be due to the fact that I owned a ford xr6 previously and that had bucket seats. I have had no issues wth the car at all, running costs are amazing, a full tank of Petrol lasting a full month with regular use

attention to details
I really appreciate the attention to details from Honda compare to other manufacturers they also really good with all the gadgets fittings which are very helpful when driving. two complaints I have one is the entertainment unit, the sound quality from speakers was the worst I had in any car also the Notice button I sold press each time I turn it on is really a pain also very distracting when driving as you really need to concentrate to touch the small ok button on the screen. other complaint I have is about the metal used in the body which is very thin so that it dents so easily and the paint work is so weak it chip too easy. but if you can live with these overall the positives in this car really outnumber the negatives.

I made the right choice!
After much research of all comparible models, I bought my HR-V 3 months ago. Have driven over 4000 km with mix of town, highway, long distance and short... So far, so happy with my choice.
Highlights are the cabin/cargo space, ride height, reversing camera options, Bluetooth quality, fuel efficiency, brake assist, auto lights and wipers and the list just goes on... Absolute favourite is the lane-view camera! So very happy I went with the "older" model without gps as I have not missed that at all. (The couple of times I have needed a map, I ...Read more
just use google maps on a camera mount with audio instructions still coming through the car speakers). My only niggles have been that the black interior shows every speck of dust and pet hair. Also I found the backrest of the front seats have deep sides and I have needed to add some lumbar support to be comfortable on longer trips. Oh... And the shade cloth cargo cover is not great and I would have liked a full sized spare... Will most likely buy one to replace the space saver as I will be doing some remote road trips... All in all... Made the best choice for my needs and budget and even got some fancy features thrown in... Would definitely recommend this vehicle...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this car!
I really do love this car. It is easy to drive, easy to park and extremely comfortable. We drove from the Hunter Valley to Adelaide & the car was very economical on fuel. We also have two car seats in the back & they fit comfortably. I am very happy with the amount of room in the back as well.
Purchased in January 2021.

GOOD CAR
family always have honda car it lasted over 40 years until father pass away, then mum decided to get a small car.
i own a honda jass, but had a bad car accident in oct 2016, got written off.
decided to get another honda, since the honda jass saved my life.
i dont want another small car, and cant afford big car either. so HRV fit perfectly in the category.
nice car to drive around.

POOR GPS navigation system - otherwise a good car.
The car is roomy inside and love the flexible seating arrangement which allows you to carry a whole array of goodies. HOWEVER, I agree with some of the other comments. Extremely poor GPS system using a third party app called SYGIC which is so clunky and hard to use. I have used apple system in Hyundai which is far easier to use. NO excuse Honda - for such a poor system. Absolutely no excuse when some of your other models have better GPS systems. The other irritant is that the reversing cameral does not have sound. Again, given that this is in other competitor models in the same price range - poor form.

LOVE IT - Best car we have ever had
This is by far the best car we have ever had and we have had a few.
I drive long distances quite a bit and overall handling and drive is superb - great fuel economy (had a Honda Hybrid before this and this is much better).
My partner drives mostly around Sydney and finds it big enough to feel safe yet small enough to park easily and our mothers love it because its easy to get in and out of for older people.
Would recommend highly to people from all demographics and lifestyles.

very impressive honda!
Looked at almost every small/mid sized suv on the market then looked at one of these and was quite impressed. Very practical, I like how the rear seats fold 1000 different ways. Could do with a bit more front seat leg room for tall people but its more than enough for my partner and I. The exterior look fantastic, we got the blue which almost has a purple fleck through it in sun light. Its also quite good on fuel 7.5-8 mix of city and freeway.
Overall super happy with this car and will update my review in 6-12 months time.

This Micro SUV is the bees knees
Both wife and me like this vehicle for all purpose driving and the smart [up to date] technology/safety that it brings.
Looked around for similar comparisons and nothing in this class that has the size and efficiency to deliver in cost cutting.
Trouble is the wife likes it better CRV

Good car, town or highway
Purchased new. 1.8ltr CVT.
It is my Wife's’ car.
Looked at the VTi-L but didn’t think it was worth the extra cash. Have only done 4,000 kms so far.
Great around town, excellent on the highway. Wide wheelbase, very stable.
CVT is good once you get used to it, engine a little underpowered but has no turbocharger to cost you millions to get repaired.
Has all of Hondas’ excellent engineering, seats are comfortable and good high positioning, no blinds from pillars, its like getting into a cockpit. Good sized boot for its size.
Great reversing ...Read more
