Moth Trap not working this time

published

I have been using this product for a few years now and it normally works amazingly well. But, I purchased and set up new trap week ago. Disappointed to find the product has changed from a bait and sticky surface to now a large sticky surface and no bait to lure the moths. I don't believe the sticky surface itself has any bait luring quality to it as it doesn't attract any moths flying around. Made in China hey Hovex, they have omitted the active ingredient and short changed you therefore a waste of time and money for your consumers.

Purchased in May 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$9.95.

Very effective

published

After discovering an infestation I stripped pantry of products & thoroughly cleaned. New products were placed in sealed containers. I left a trap as insurance against another infestation. Haven’t seen anything for 6 months & forgot about the trap. On checking the trap discovered it had caught at least 20 small moths. I immediately replaced it with a new one & will be checking & replacing regularly from now on.

Exceeded my expectations!!

published

Bought this moth trap only two days ago to put in our pantry and within days it has already caught what seems to be majority of the moths! Highly recommend this product if you’ve got some sneaky lil buggers hiding in cupboards or pantries.

No effective

Last time I bought this product it was very effective.
This time I shouldn't have wasted my money. I kill more moths a day with my hands than the trap has caught in a month.
No happy.
Will not buy this product again.
Not sure what they changed. I did notice the trap itself was different.
Just isn't effective.

Are Quickly Effective

published

The lure seal foil just opened . A moth came around before I assembled the trap .
Previously only noticed a couple of moths each day.
Two Hours later, seven in one trap, three in the other.
The Hovex pantry moth traps, are quickly effective.

They are so easy to set up. Put it in the pantry and I caught literally hundreds. Expensive but worth it.

Catches more moths than I expected

published

My Mum put me on to these and we swear by them. Easy to make up following the instructions - just don't get the sticky stuff under the paper strip you pull off onto your fingers.

Pop it anywhere in your house and forget about it. Check it a few weeks later and you'll be surprised how many of those annoying tiny moths it's captured.

No smell to the bait lures so no issues.

Bunnings have pockets of 2. Wish they were a little cheaper.

Great product.

These come in a box of two traps. They are very simple to assemble and extremely effective. I have had success using mine in my pantry so will continue to use and recommend this product. They are around $10 a box and I purchased mine from Woolworths.

Pensioners be warned!

published

Hello fellow age pensioners.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR 'pension money' ON THIS PRODUCT.
I bought two a couple of weeks ago and not one moth has been trapped; NOT ONE!
In the meantime I have resorted to using an insect spray repellent and 'my hands!'
This product is a RIP OFF at $10 per item.

Don't work!!!!

I have used other brands of moth traps that wave worked brilliantly - the Hovex brand on the other hand has caught one moth (by accident). I see moths on the walls beside the trap however they never fly anywhere near it. Very disappointed.

Worked right away

published

I stuck the lure in the trap and whilst I was putting the trap together into the triangle shape two moths flew into it and stuck on the paper. The lure is really effective, I was impressed and am positive my moth problems will soon be at an end. Thank you Hovex.

No good

Totally the worst one on the market and it's the Lure it just doesn't attract moths, so I always buy the Envirosafe one the Lure drives them crazy !!!

Worked instantly

published

As soon as I opened the pack the moths instantly started flying to it. Checked them after 30 min and at least 20 moths were stuck on the paper. So relieved after throwing out so much food and using another brand that just made everything smell and taste strange.

Best of the best

attracted moth while setting them up.... serious test, in a pet shop with massive amount of seed etc to feed moth. Have used another brand, but they did not come close to the attraction of the Hovex brand. Would recommend these to anyone with a moth/weevil problem.

Does what it's supposed to - traps moths

published

I have used both brands and wouldn't hesitate to buy Hovex if I couldn't find the other.

+++ Traps were filled and did exactly what they were promoted to do.

+++ Able to buy them easily at Coles, Woolies and Bunnings (my shopping places)

No negatives.

Useless Hovex pantry moth traps

published

The only one caught by these traps was me - silly enough to pay over $11 for a bit of three sided sticky cardboard.
After failing to catch any moths overnight in a kitchen where I counted seven on the walls I held the trap above a moth expecting it to be enticed in. Didn't happen. Then I placed the 'trap' completely over a moth on the wall. The moth fluttered onto the sticky side, then flew off.
Conclusion: The trap sides are not sticky enough to catch moths. The bait is ineffective.
On the box it says the bait is "a special moth pheromone (sex lure) that excites male moths." Well maybe all my moths are either female or gay, because they were totally disinterested in the bait.

Hovex Pantry Moth Traps Are Not Effective

published

I have used Envirosafe Pantry Moth lures over a few years and found them to very effective. However they were not available and I purchased Hovex Pantry Moth Traps and found them to be useless. Caught only 3 moths over several days and when I opened the pantry there were still moths flying around not going near the lure. Waste of money and they are not cheap. I will not be buying them again and would like to be able to get the Envirosafe brand.
