Fast, comfortable
Have a 15 acre undulating rural property with grass that grows all the time as I have no animals to graze on it. It can be up to 2 feet high and as thick as thieves. Never had a problem cutting it or flattening small ant hills. I also use it to move my 21-foot twin axle caravan in and out of the garage that weighs two tons and tow a small steel trailer sometimes full of rocks and logs around the place. I had to replace a set of blades and a belt after 350 hours. Now the starter motor solenoid doesn't engage and I discovered after measuring...Read more
safety switches, the clutch switch to operate the blades has a resistive connection in it and lowers the voltage to the solenoid to 6 volts. Replaced that and I will do another 400 hours. I sliced the back tyre when it ran over some barbed wire from a broken fence, and had to replace it. Very costly, but then they all are whatever mower you own. As I am an electronics tech I naturally do all my repairs and that is a bonus. Fantastic mower!Purchased in January 2021 at Bega New South Wales Australia for $11,950.00.

Been Hustled
I’ve owned mine six month and have 40 hrs on it. It started spitting a sputtering in which the dealer said the carberator needed rebuilt because it had bad gas. I assured him I’ve taken it to the gas station on a trailer each time to fill it up. He said no matter if you don’t put a bottle of Sea Foam in each fill up I will be paying another $128.28 to rebuild the carb again. Really? I have to put an $8.00 bottle of Sea Foam in each tank or I’ll be paying $128.28 every 40 hours for carberator repairs? Ditching my Fastrak! I’ve been hustled by Hustler
Purchased in July 2021.

Nothing is perfect in this world but this mower is close.
Boy so many negative reviews, I'm johnny homeowner and mechanic by trade. 2 acres of western North Carolina grass and weeds cut at 3.5" height. I have Hustler Fastrack 48" with a Kaw 22HP FS651. Between my wife and I we put on average of 46 hrs a year in the past 7 years with normal maintenance (per manual) check tire pressure the begin of each month and have no major problems. 1-2019 I was performing normal maintenance plus had oil leak (crank seal) and one spindle bearing set growling - have order bearings, no dealer, no big problem look them...Read more
up on line. After the first season i order aftermarket Gator Blades not the cheap ones and can not complain about the mower performance or reliability. Yes it likes fuel, but your operating this equipment wide open throttle! For the individual that broke the end of the crank shaft I just wonder if he was engaging the PTO at high RPM. Read the book it tells you engage/disengage at idle and raise or lower throttle. reading the price that some of these people paid WOW! I gave $5,500.00 new and thought that was to much. guess it is all on how use and maintain your investment. One last note this mower has giving my 22 year old leaf blower a break, by antecedent i had back the mower up next the tree line and found it does a great job of blowing leaves on the final pass going backwards, just be careful.Similar opinion? Worst mower I've owned
Dont know it I got a defected mower or what. It does not sling grass Hardly at all. It looks horrible and have to go over a lawn several times to make it decent looking. Its brand new with only 100hrs on it. I dont even get it off the trailer anymore. I use my walkbehind now.

long and wet they drink more fuel . These mowers were designed for lawns. The hustlers are cheaper for reason they just are not built as good as other brands .these mowers are fine for residential lawns The other weak point is the mowers leaves grass clipping and jinks ever where looks bad to the customer. Fyi keep a close eye on the hydrologic fluid oil levels makesure you check all the fluids ofton. We have mechanic do maintenance them regularly hope this helpsSimilar opinion? What a machine!
When I was a Maintenance Manager at a boys school, we purchased a Hustler. Yes,it was a little pricey but I was told it was the equivalent of a Hummer but I would beg to differ. IT'S A SHERMAN TANK!!! The grass where I worked was vast and the terrain was undulating. This machine rips through small twigs and absolutely slaughters long grass. The ride is comfortable and the controls are easy. The cutting deck is thick steel and is virtually indestructible. It was always a pleasure to mow lawns with this beast. We chose the mulching option. The cut grass, after mowing, looked really beautiful and people commented on it. Serviced regularly, this machine will last for ages.
I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Hustler Tried To Keep Me From Posting This On Their Website
We purchased one of these mowers back in 2008 and it worked well for about 500 hours and then it turned into a money pit. The major problem with this mower and all other Hustler mowers is they use Hydrogear transaxles which are cheaply made and poorly engineered. Another problem with this brand of mower is they do not have enough service centers around to get your mower serviced. Where I live there is only one to cover 3 counties and the shop that services them is unreliable. Excel Industries which manufactures the Hustler brand is hands off wh...Read more
en it comes to distribution and the major distributor for them in my area of the county is Cook's Power Equipment in Groveland, Florida. We made several attempts to contact the local sales rep for our area and was never called back or followed up with. Hustler does not have enough service centers, dealers and quality people in their network to take care of you. It's for this reason that I advise looking at another brand of mower.Similar opinion? Never Again
I bought a Hustler mower for $6500 and it had 140 hours on it when the shaft that engages the blades sheared in half. I took it back to my dealer and it was out of warranty. The verdict was the engine and mower deck were both damaged beyond repair. So for my 6500 i got about 2 years of mowing about 1/2 acre of normal grass. I will NEVER buy a Hustler again!!!! I tried to deal directly with Hustler and they said too bad it was a Kawasaki problem not theirs. I could swear i bought the mower at a Hustler dealer.

It's ok
We do landscaping they don't cut tall grass that great like over 3 inches have now twice sometimes leaves grass glimpse every where the Moyers are thirsty us twice the fuel as our x marks and the x marks cut better and are eleven years old . Think we will get 4 seasons out of them that's only because we service them regular gas far as work when they want too would not buy these again save money just buy better mowers later and fuel cost will cost you more

Fantastic mower
Great product, very reliable and cuts grass evenly. Great zero turn capacity and very stable on uneven and sloping ground. Never had an issue with the motor. Only problem that I have encountered is with having the front wheel constantly in need of repair - have taken it to the local dealer 5 times already and now given up as it keeps going flat.

Not so sure now
We bought a new Hustler X one with 60 inch deck 12 months ago around $16000. Went for the American made thinking I couldn't go too wrong. Not so sure any more of the quality and back up service of this company. On to 3 rd set of blades (private use) which are wearing very uneavenly (yes I have checked deck level and baffel adjustments etc). Left front idler/jockey tyre deflates on every mow (may contribute to blade wear). Dealership told me that this is a common problem (tubeless tyre) on left side and suggest I put a tube in tyre. Note the wor...Read more

Awful lawn mower
We bought a hustler super z for $13,000, after having this lawnmower a month a spindle broke. Then broke again months later. There have been several problems with this lawn mower. Including only having it for 18 months and the motor blew up. Lost money due to it being in the shop for a month to be fixed. I would not ever buy another one nor would I recommend anyone else to.

Buyers Remorse!!!!
I have the 48" Hustler Fastrak HD... I bought it in November of 2016 but really didn't put it to good use until March 2017 so basically I've only used it for 3 months. After a short time of using this mower I've got some serious buyers remorse. I've already had one spindle replaced and after 3 weeks of that being replaced I now have another spindle going out. I was told that the 48" decks are notorious for this problem. Yes, it was covered under warranty and this one will be too, however, owning a Lawn Care Business I'm having to put my mower i...Read more
n the shop and waiting until this is repaired and in the meantime I'm losing money. Today is Sunday 6/18/17 and tomorrow 6/19/17 I'll be dropping it off once again and once again I'll be losing money because my equipment sits in a repair shop. "Not Impressed" !!! Hustler has two choices in my opinion, they either get their crap right or consider a buy back, I don't have time for this. I plan on calling the manufacturer about this after I drop it off for the second time, I'm already prepared for the "run around" which will be unacceptable! One would think that by paying thousands of $$ for a mower it would last more than 3 months!!! August 30th 2017 Update: Another round of buyers remorse I recently wrote a review about this mower about a month ago and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse it Has! On 8/25/17 (Friday Morning) I unloaded my mower to my first job site of the day. I drove it to the back yard, engaged the mower and made two swipes only to quickly realize I threw my drive belt. One would think that losing a drive belt wouldn't be that big of a deal, even I thought the same thing. After I got the belt back on I started it back up to continue mowing and out of nowhere it was making one heck of a noise. I cut it back off but couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. I loaded it back on my trailer and once again here I go back to the place I bought it from. It was there I was told that when it threw the belt it threw it up and got tangled up in the fans that cools the transmission (there's 2 of them and there made out of plastic) it wiped out both fans. Absolutely Poor Design Again! I'm finding out in my 5 months of operating this mower there are numerous design flaws including the two spindles I've had replaced previously. I have placed a call to the factory rep for my area, do you think he's called me back yet? (NOPE)... So once again my mower sits in the shop and once again I'm losing money... Good Mower When It Works
I have some pretty steep hills on my lot, so I went with the Fastrak because of the Kawasaki engine and the ZT-3100's. During my first mow it was performing great, but when I got off of the mower to open a gate I was unable to start it back up. I took the seat off and saw that the electric connection to the right handle came off. Reattached and kept mowing. After mowing for 1 hr, got off of the mower, and again it wouldn't start. Same problem, reconnected and kept going. Happened 2 more times, called the dealer and he told me to crimp the ...Read more
connection as best possible. I don't think this is a great solution, but I really think there is a design flaw when there is a loose connection to a joint that is frequently in motion. Hopefully I will be able to get it fixed by the dealer, but really I just think it was poorly designed. Wish the salesman didn't talk me out of a bad boy.Similar opinion? Hate it
I am a farmer who has a large area to mow around the house. The area is quite windy and the grass gets out of control so I bought a hustler $14,000.00 worth . It cuts the grass in such a way that grass throws up into your eyes and near chokes you,it is severe to the point of being unbearable.I have complained to the dealer in Geelong and to Hustler but nobody has bothered.

I can help you
This machine is great. I live in the Kimberley Australia. I had a John Deere that just didnt do it. To be fair it was old and started to cost me with down time. 5 acres and I needed a goer. Look honestly they are put together really well. Strongly engineered and well supported even in this back water. I read plenty of disappointing purchases of Hustler but I can tell you ridgey didge that they can cut it. Easy to service and maintain. I had to tell you all that you wont be disappointed. Hope this helps with your decision. Im happy, very satisfied. Steve - Price's Paradise, Broome, WA, Australia.

Better than sliced bread
Purchased the 48” cut Hustler Fas Trak a few weeks back. Now I have only used this mower on “lawns”, mine are flat and kept well mown. If I was only allowed one word to describe this mower it would be “Brilliant”! I have only used the tractor style ride ons previously and I thought they were good, but I didn’t know what the benchmark for good should have been. This thing goes like a rocket, cuts like a cylinder roller mower, is fun to drive, runs on the smell of an oily rag and the power is scary. In fact that is the only thing I have worr...Read more
ied about, the power. Using it as the manual says with throttle fully open and using the levers for acceleration etc. it is very possible especially in the learner driver stages (me now) to rip your head off on a low tree branch. It has a simple to operate deck height adjustment, throws the cuttings a full metre, handles 75mm of wet grass like it isn’t there and its even reasonably comfy, though at 191cm (6’3”) I do find the leg room a little squashy, but I am used to it now. I also intend to use it on much tougher tussocky grass, with the cutting height raised as the need arises and I can’t see it having any probs. there. The mower is more expensive than others around, but when you have a look at the robust, heavy duty construction and fully fabricated deck you can see the extra $’s. Only 7 hours on the clock but i am very impressed with this unit! You need to get used to a ZeroTurn mower because that’s what they do, turn on their own axis and this will cause the rear wheels to tear up your turf if not careful.Purchased in April 2021.

My belt broke that controls the blades. My mower is still under warranty. Is the replacemnt of that belt covered?

I've just bought a rural property and it comes with a Hustler FasTrak. It starts OK with the levers pushed outwards into the park position, and the deck clutch off. But the moment I pull the levers toward me, the engine stops - and starts again when I return the levers to the parking position. I can't figure out how to keep the engine running so I can actually start to get the mower to move! Any suggestions?
