Needs Improvement !
I have only recently used the IBGstar and so far its not as impressive as I'd hoped.
1. Its not compatible with the latest IOS version on my Iphone 6: which suggests to me they're behind the 8 ball even though the company claims to be up to date with all latest software versions.
2. No readings are uploading therefore I have to manually input! This is not a huge deal but then what makes this meter different to any of my others. What got me interested in this product was the convenience of it taking my BGL's & recording them electronicall...Read more
y. I am terrible with logbooks so this appealed to me greatly. 3. Smart File- This is such a fantastic addition to the app in which all your readings are recorded & analysed in spreadsheets etc which can be extremely useful for healthcare professionals when reviewing your diabetes management. However, I can only use the smart file if the information is emailed from my app. And as my app is currently not compatible with my device I am unable to use this file. It would be great if I could simply connect the device directly to the computer so that I am able to still use some of its features if/when the app is not fully functional. 4. Iphone App: at this stage I have attempted to manually input my readings but ever so often i keep receiving error messages that it will not save the data. Overall this device has a lot of potential but I would not purchase this product again until the company has sorted out all the hiccups.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

No update to this app since I purchased 3 years back
A joke that you can spend time and money investing in a health product and not be able to update the app it runs on. Not good enough by any corporate or professional standard.

Good basic monitor (when it works)
I've been using the iBGstar for 2.5 years, tiny size and quick monitoring is great however it often brings up error messages and can't cope in temperatures sub 10* Celsius. Pharmacies in brisbane often are out of stock of the strips - As a result I ended up buying another monitor as a back up. Great idea, just not quite robust enough to rely upon fully - which you kind of need........

Could be great but falls way short
I love the concept of IBGStar however it does fall short. It does not work well with iphone 5 despite company claims it only needs an Apple adapter. Works intermittently. I keep an Accu Chek monitor with me as well to double check my readings as they have been higher then usual with the IBGStar. Sales and service terrible. Over 1 month to reply to an email and calls not returned for 3-4 weeks. The promised $40 gift card never materialised either. I was eventually told it was "in the mail" but it never arrived. And was then advised they wouldn't "send" another. False advertising. At least the other gluco monitoring companies provide quality and reliable service and support.

Good, but needs updating
There is a lot right with the iBGstar. My daughter has used it for about three years now, we had one monitor replaced free due to a screen fault, but primary schools are tough environments so I don't hold this against it. It connects to an iPod touch or iPhone and uploads results to its own app. The app is fairly basic and shows readings individually or in logbook or graph form, as well as some basic analysis. It also allows you to record your carb intake and insulin dose, as well as select custom or preprogrammed tags (eg, exercise, too much i...Read more
nsulin, changed insulin, sick etc). Most importantly it allows you to email this as a text logbook or csv file. That makes sharing info with doctors a breeze. Sadly the iPod connection is 30 pin, and while you can claim a gift card to purchase an adapter to lightning connectior, this is bulkier and won't allow you to use the case (I purchased from the company) which allows you to keep the monitor permanently protected with your device. I wish they would update the device to work with newer apple products. We've tried a lot of monitors, this one is a winner. No coding, only small blood sample needed, monitor is tiny, internal battery will charge from iPod/iPhone 30 pin apple connector now outdated, only integrates with iOS devices, app meal tags can't be customised - we eat more than 3 meals a day so every snack is recorded as pre- or post-breakfast/lunch/dinnerSimilar opinion?
