Terrible Kitchen Quality and Warranty
Within 3 years of having a new ikea kitchen our cabinets have begun to flake like wheetbix and the sink has chipped around the edges. Warranty replacement was requested and rejected due to "excess water in the kitchen" Last time i checked we never had a flood inside the house and of course we mop but we dont swim in the bloody water. Terrible service avoid buying a kitchen from these clowns full stop

Very poor quality products! Waste of money!
Crappy products. Extremely poor quality. You will fool yourself into believing that you're saving money, while in reality, you are throwing your money away buying their poor-quality products! But people are cheap.

Faulty IKEA instructions
Purchased 2 display cabinets, IKEA’s own instructions were faulty. As a result the shelves collapsed, breaking family heirlooms. IKEA offered me paltry compensation that came with a heavy handed lawyer and gag order.

Don’t care not interested attitude
On Monday 6th Jan I went to Ikea and made a few purchases. I noticed a wall unit I liked at a good price. The sign said clearance. I went back the next day the price had gone up by $70 and the sign now said last chance. I asked if I could buy it for the clearance price as I thought it was discontinued clearance but I was told no. The item is discontinued as I thought.

Disappointed with finished product
This was the first time buying furniture from Ikea and would honestly not bother again. We bought a Fjallbo tv bench unit and despite following the instructions carefully when we finally attached the doors they did not line up and ruined the look of the whole unit. I then looked at reviews on the Ikea site to find this was a common problem and Ikea is obviously not taking any notice of this and just letting the units be sold without addressing the problem. Disappointing. We live 2.5 hours from the store so can't be bothered taking this back and having to try all over again, only to get the same disappointing result.

Do not honor returns policy DON'T TRUST THEM!
I bought a mattress pad from Ikea Tempe and returned it due to a toxic smell, which gave me an instant headache. I carefully resealed the bag. Head office confirmed that it should get a refund but at the store I was patronised. I remained polite but they refused a refund and thought it generous to give me a store credit. I do not buy Ikea products usually and cannot use a store credit, I want my money back for an item that smelled like solvent meets mould.

Bought a mattress
I bought a mattress from Ikea Tempe and when I received it I realised it didn't meet my expectations. I rang the store and They didn't hesitate to give me a full refund and picked it up free of charge. They were very courteous on the phone. Their service has been exceptional.

IKEA has gotten so stingy??
So I used to frequent IKEA tempe for many years, purchasing many furniture products - my last product purchased was Hemnes Daybed which I am satisfied with and normally when I go to IKEA I like to have a cup of coffee and a bite to eat and utilise the free wi-fi to watch a few videos before I shop...HOWEVER 2022 has not been kind. I have not been to IKEA since my last purchase but I was terribly shocked when I discovered how much it had drastically changed. The cafe they once boasted inside the cafeteria - gonski's, just disappeared?? The food ...Read more
was very limited and no salad bar was topped up, there was no bread - nada. The coffee is no longer FREE as a member have to pay $2.50 now!!!!! The wi-fi is BAD! You cannot watch many video's...I was trying to do uni homework and watch some video's but they control your restricted mode and it really destroyed my customer experience that I decided that I would just exit without purchasing the list of products I had planned. Honestly, IKEA how cheap have you become, more importantly who was the decision maker that thought by taking away these little things that used to make IKEA a great place to be. If you're looking to retain customer loyalty you best listen to your customers...thursday night shopping is usually packed without fail but tonight was like a ghost town was actually expecting a few tumbleweeds to roll through the dining area. Sad. Very sad.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Wish i could give half a star
I ordered furniture in store for a planned weekend delivery. They took my phone number down wrong and the delivery man reportedly tried to ring my intercom which 4 people in the house never heard. Once they took down my correct number i never received any information the following weekend that the delivery person was on his way. Again he reportedly tried to ring the intercom. No attempt was made to call my mobile. Then i find out that they never updated my correct mobile in the first place. Appalling service. Poor communication and customer service.

Damaged Goods and Poor Customer Support Service
We had a damaged box delivered (damaged part inside) and I called up immediately to organise a replacement part. [name removed] was supposed to organise a replacement part - after my 40mins hold! She requested I email photos of the damaged part and it would be scheduled for Saturday (today!). When the delivery did not happen today - I called up again (33mins hold), and was told that nothing had been done nor could be found about my replacement part case. [name removed] was helpful in getting this organised for me - this time actually booking it...Read more
in! I am disappointed in the service I had received the first time - first in paying for delivery and expecting goods to be delivered in good condition and handled with care! Good for cheap furniture and etc.
Assembling their furniture is straight forward, they do give adequate instructions despite popular opinion. If you are looking for affordable home decor and furniture then IKEA shall suffice. I would not recommend IKEA to someone with a high budget and looking for quality furniture or furniture/decor with a good story behind it.

Don't Buy IKEA
I bought 2 DETOLF Glass-door cabinets online from IKEA, paid $69 shipping which I though was a bit much compared to other well known furniture shops, but I needed the cabinets so still went through with the payment.
They arrived promptly but putting them together was a hassle, the wood top and bottom were not cut properly where the glass slides in so I had to cut the groves larger, then screwing it all together at least half of the screws stripped, and the cheap plastic legs for the cabinet crack.
I complained to IKEA at Tempe where I bo...Read more
ught them from and didn't hear anything back for a couple of weeks where there response to my complaint was "No problem we can give you a refund and we will get a truck to pick up the items as long as they are disassembled but we will charge you $69 for the pick up". It is not worth my time to send the items back as one has been put together with a lot of cutting, drilling and glue and one is still in the box but sending that back and paying $69 to receive $20 back is not worth it. Substandard item, there is better quality out there.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Extremely bad customer service and poor choice of delivery company (TOLL)
On the 01Dec I ordered different items on your web-page with an estimated delivery date of the 04Dec. Today is the 11Dec and I still haven't received anything. I do get calls from Toll (who apparently is IKEA's choice of delivery company) They can't really tell me what is the status of the order but every day they politely say that they will update me the following day. I don't really need all the updates I just need to get my items delivered.
I have spoken to Customer service about cancelling the order. However, the way I understood it cance...Read more

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES DELIVERY FROM IKEA
I wish I came here to check reviews prior to ordering a lounge from IKEA because like many have written before me my delivery has not shown up.
The ETA for the delivery was 7am-11am (booked 3 weeks prior) and it is currently 12.40pm and have not heard anything from IKEA. Their customer service is non-existent, after waiting on hold for 2 HOURS the line was cut off. It is evident that they don't want people to call as they don't show their contact number on the website, receipt or delivery order.
An absolute joke of an organisation. Perhaps they should've stayed out of Australia if this is how they intend to treat their "customers".

Goods ordered and paid for a week ago, have not been delivered despite receiving email confirming
Goods have not been delivered and customer service number is never answered. On hold for two hours and counting. I do not know when goods I have paid for will be delivered as I keep getting hung up on when I ring the customer service number. Have had to cancel local tradesman who was booked to assemble furniture, so IKEA inconveniencing more than just me. Won’t be buying IKEA ever again.

9 weeks waiting and counting for delivery
I was excited to see IKEA now do home delivery, as getting to a store is difficult. I ordered online and delivery could not be scheduled for 5 weeks. A long lead time, but I could wait - worth it not to have to go in to the store.
On delivery day I checked and still scheduled for delivery 7am-9pm. I rearranged my work and children so I could be available. No delivery. I called and (after being on hold for 45 minutes) was told something was out of stock so they would need to reschedule. New stock was due in the following Sunday, so I re-orga...Read more
nised delivery. The same story the following week. Re-organised delivery again. This time I called first thing in the morning to check delivery was coming (online said it was, but i had learnt not to trust this). I was told no, again a stock issue. They could not identify which item(s) in my order were out of stock. They said that the warehouse is not operating effectively and that I could not be guaranteed any delivery date. I was told I was better off ordering click-and-collect, going into store and collecting and wheeling my order one counter to the left to organise delivery. I made the 2 hours round trip (toddler in tow) to do this. I was relatively reassured by the helpful customer service rep at Tempe store and I had seen my order with my own eyes. I asked him what the chances were that my delivery would not turn up. He assured me that something would have to go very wrong for me not to receive my order. And here I am today, having spent 2.5 hrs on hold and still no clearer as to why my order has not and is not likely to be delivered today as organised (the courier company do not have my stock and report that the delivery address they have received is 634 Princes Hwy, Tempe - the IKEA store address). The call centre guy said he will call me back. I am still waiting. He could not tell me from looking at the system why my order is not being delivered today and would investigate.1 comment

re-picked. I convinced the call centre guy to deliver on Tuesday (to suit my availability, I did not want to impact my work again). My items are not all in stock at one store, so he has arranged for most of the order to be delivered from one store and a few items to be sent from another. I will not my hold my breath on Tuesday when I will be waiting for my delivery for the fifth time.
