Beautiful but horrible function
I fell in love with this stove for its looks and assumed that, for the price, it would work. After all, I had a $200 gas range that worked for 30+ years with never an issue. But from the first day I got it installed (about 3 years ago), it was fussy lighting the burners and now the oven won't lite at all. Being a vegan, I rarely use an oven and normally I use my countertop one to avoid heating up the kitchen in the summer or because I only have something small to cook. It won't lite. I turn it on and it clicks and stops. Then clicks a few more times trying to lite, never lites even if I wait as long as an hour. While it was still in warranty, I contacted the service place (and very few service choices for this brand) and the guy came out and checked everything and told me it was OK. I told him it made no sense to have to leave the ignitor clicking on for so long (need to do that for a good 6-10 seconds) or for the middle burner to not light at all sometimes - many times I have had to light it with a match. But he insisted it was just a matter of learning the magic touch. Now that I can't get the oven to lite at all, I realize what BS that was. He probably should have changed the ignitor or whatever it is that is not working. This oven is nothing but a show piece. It doesn't work and I have come to hate it. I live in the U.S. and bought this from a distributor in New York and it was shipped to Los Angeles but assume they are all pretty much the same. The exact model I have is: UM90FVGGBL
Purchased in December 2021 for $8,600.00.

Awesome cooker
I have an Ilve Majestic. Yes it cooks at a hotter temperature than my old one. Yes the burners take 5 seconds to stay lit. Once you know how to use this cooker it is magnificent. Go and do a cooking class before you buy one to see how wonderful they are. It looks amazing. the after sales service is very good.

Don't buy this horrible oven
This $9,000.00 oven is horrible a normal cookie sheet doesn t fit inside. Burns everything,the burners never light. Beware it looks nice on the outside but its a horrible oven. We are trying to make it work due to the cost. This thing oven is the biggest mistake we've ever made when it comes to a home purchase. Run from this oven.

Great after sales service
After concerns about uneven cooking ilve sent out their chef and account manager to investigate. The issue was minor with simple removal of the fan fat filter to create even air flow. Cooking is now perfect with even temperature throughout. We also received 5 star cuisine for our troubles. Thanks ilve!

Just wanted to share what happened to me today. Beware of buying an ILVE oven! WARNING – the measurements that they give you are wrong!!! I have had an unbelievably bad experience with my ILVE oven. The specifications in the brochure and on the internet are wrong!!! They specify that the Majestic 900 oven is 900mm wide. My kitchen was built around my dream oven. sted on the website, and in the brochure and also in the installation booklet that came with the oven, he agreed that there was a mistake in the information and that it should have said 911mm wide. I told him that a huge section of my kitchen was currently being pulled out and cut down, and that the stone bench top had to be removed and sent back to the stone masons to be cut down by 10mm. I said that I thought that it would be fair to cover my out of pocket expenses to have the kitchen fixed, considering he had admitted that the mistake was ILVE’s fault. He said he understood that I was frustrated but he would offer no compensation because I should have measured the actual oven and not used the specifications. He said that the specifications are only a guideline! I pointed out that the oven had a 20 week lead time and the kitchen had already been built before the oven had even made it into the country – how was I supposed to measure the actual oven? My builder, the cabinet maker and the stone masons are all shocked! They say that everyone gets the specs from the internet and they base all of their measurements from specifications given by the companies – that is why specs are provided!!! I am totally speechless that an international company could have incorrect specifications, and then after admitting fault to behave in such an appalling manner!
