read the fine print
changed to ING platinum, from a different bank. big regret so far, as my partner is the primary card holder and I am the additional holder. the primary reason was to continue the travel insurance benefits from our previous credit card and all the other benefits were a bonus. well big surprise as i was going overseas for 2 weeks and wished to activate the travel insurance, but found it is only available if accompanied by the primary card holder. so if you are not travelling at the same time you are not covered, however you wont know this unless ...Read more
you are really good at fine print. also the travel expenses prior to leaving on the card have to be more than $500 prior to the departure.so pending amounts for accommodation, tours etc are not considered "spent". all together a poor product and we are regretful with this product. also the 3rd party travel insurance company used by ING has some very questionable practices mentioned in delaying or not paying claims in other reviews.SO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS PRODUCT- Everyday Expenses

Awesome Benefits
Up to $30.00 cash back each month, travel Insurance and no foreign transaction fees. Since I'm not a big spender this card ticks all the boxes without needing a huge outlay to reap some of the rewards.

Good Cash Back
The cashback option is good as we use this as our every day card to make nearly all of our household purchases. But if you are looking for a card with a huge bonus and loads of rewards then this card is not for you.

The 1% cashback is why you'd get this card
I got this card with a $6,000 credit limit, as part of my home loan package, with no annual fee. I used it as my secondary card (behind a fee free Amex with rewards), as it had no rewards package associated with it (which I found to be the biggest drawback with the card).
The card was easy to use, accepted everywhere, and easy to make repayments on as direct debits were set up against my ING transaction account.
The 1% cashback on spending (up to a maximum of $30/month) was the most attractive benefit, but since I only ever used this card as a secondary card, the cashback never amounted to more than around $100 per year.
All in all, a good card to have and use if you have other banking products with ING.

Declined? Are you kidding?
My application was denied...it's almost comical. I have an average Aussie income with NO mortgage or car repayments. I've been with ING for about 10 years with very healthy savings and have had no debt with them or any other bank in that time. I haven't had a credit card declined in almost 20 years (I was a student at the time and it was the earlier days of the internet when shopping online practically required a credit card).
A few years ago I was approved of a BankWest credit card for $9000.00 with less income, and yet ING declined my request...Read more

I think this card is great!
We got this card and got rid of two others as we knew this was much better. You get up to $30.00 cash back each month based on your spend. They ask you to have a $1000 deposit each month into it or a linked savings account of ING from an external account which is easy as we both work and as long as we have 5 x EFTPOS a month we can use any ATM with all fees refunded as well as all overseas transaction fees refunded either from puchasing online from os sites or from travelling overseas.
This in itself was awesome as we got it plus additional card before Thailand trip and had all transaction fees refunded, saved us hundreds!
Additional card is only $10 per annum charge, no biggie compared to all savings and cash back.
We love it.

Suits me just fine
I use a debit card and it suits my lifestyle perfectly.
I have used it overseas and just advise the bank when and where I travel.
The only stupid thing is having to transfer $1000 per month to avoid some fees... I am retired!

Insult to loyal customer
Banking with ING for years, $XXXk+ savings in ING, Home Loan in ING, superannuation in ING. Very happy customer, until ....
Applied for PLATINUM card with credit limit as low as $10000. Got offered CLASSIC card and $4.5k credit limit. That is lower than my monthly spendings (figure was in application). What you want me to do with CC limited lower than my monthly spending????
Feeling nothing but insult.

Terrible product backed by terrible service
I decided to change my rewards credit card and based on having an ING account already, I chose the Orange One Platinum card. I was ok with some of the "hoops" you have to jump through to get most of the benefits of the card, but I wish I had read these reviews before taking it ( I thought a Visa card pretty much did the same thing at every financial institution) Not only does it have all of the quirks/irritations/limitations as listed on the other reviews, the warning should have been in the application process. I started the process 1 month be...Read more
fore my current card was due, thinking this was ample time to get the card, change all my direct debits etc. I received an email the day after doing the initial online application which quoted 3-5 business days to complete the process. 1 month later, after duplicate requests for paperwork already sent, the correct department /people never available for enquiries and phone calls never returned I am still waiting for my additional card holders card to be processed. I have been told there is an issue they are working on and cannot tell me when or if I will get my additional card. I requested to cancel the card and asked for the fee to be credited as they had not delivered what they offered. I was simply told no refund, not even a pro rata refund would be entertained. I have an excellent credit rating, so this has not been a factor. This has been a terrible experience with ING for me. If you are an online business, you would expect your online systems to actually work. Back to the banks for me.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

No bPAY option to pay bills with.
ING’s platinum card does not let you pay bills using bPay from the app. And does not let you pay the account in full if there are any purchases made in the last few days stuck at “pending” or put the account in credit by even a dollar.
It’s literally baffling having a platinum credit card you can’t oay bills with and can’t pay the balance off in its entirety.
If you want to pay bills using your credit card or want to be able to pay your account balance in full you won’t be able too. Recommend to avoid with prejudice.
