What a piece of crraaapppp.
If you like humidity then go for it.
Look, it's just a evaporative cooler. Useless in humid climates. The technology is basic and has been around for 100 years. Evap coolers do work quite well in dry warm climates, such as Perth. But there is much better systems out there other than the Instanonsense. The advertisement is totally misleading..eg the pathetic little machine trying to cool a hot kitchen and with no window open,- it will only make things worse (do they use large evap coolers in commercial kitchens...of c...

I am not sure why all of the reviews are bad. Honestly, it works the way it is designed. It has a special design compared to other market brands. It has 4 pads, not 1. And the pad is huge and thick. And the fan, is extremely strong, like a commercial grade fan. If the fan isn't strong it cannot cool the room during high humidity level. I bought the units second-hand so I am extremely happy with them. The noise is ok for me as I understand that it is the only way to be. Still better than that of portable air conditioner. I found this product to ...

If you want a perfect solution, pay for split system, which is a lot more expensive to install and to run. This product has done the best it can be already. There are advantages and disadvantages of evaporative coolers. If you want it colder, you need to put ice constantly and open the window a bit so the humid air can be replaced by dry air. Costs $3c an hour to run in Melbourne Australia. This is an amazing product, a miniature of rooftop evaporative system.- Build Quality

Read morein a well ventilated space and you can add ice in the water tank for additional cooling.I purchased two units in October 2022. Within the first 12mts, one of the Units would not turn on and it was replaced at no cost. Earlier this month in the heat wave we were experiencing, The Water Pump in the unit that was replaced in 2020, stopped working. I contacted the call center to see if I could buy a new Water pump. I received an email offering me a new Unit for half price. The very next day, the other unit would not turn on so I again contacted them via email. I received another message telling me that as it was out of warranty ...
Read moreI could not have it replaced or repaired. I searched and found the Original Invoice and discovered that I had paid for extended Warranty. I called the returns dept and was told that they would send me a new Unit as no cost. Because I am an honest person, I told them that my Neighbour had modified a used Water Pump for the other unit, and was told that as it as working, I could not get a replacement for that one. However as it is a used pump and is very noisy, I am concerned it may also stop working. I am so angry that two different Call Center Operators did NOT tell me that I had the extended Warranty and as I had forgotten I had taken it out before finding the Invoice, I would not have bothered to try to replace the broken Water Pump. My Warranty does not run out until September this year so hopefully if the pump fails it will do so before then. I sent an email Attention Manager, voicing my disgust over the two Operators, but have not heard from anyone.Purchased in at TV Shop for $400.

Does what it says on the box. But Evaporative Coolers are useless above 50% Humidity
Not worth any more than $150. Despite the distributors comments here Evaps by design don't work above 50% RH. Takes the edge off but is a disposable appliance and won't last long

Read more The Instachill will work in all areas but the degree of cooling will really depend on the humidity level during time of use. But, as this cooler has a Humidity Control feature, it automatically stops adding moisture to the air when it detects 85% and above humidity level and will turn the Cool Function back on when the room humidity drops to 70%. We also encourage customers to use the Instachill in a well ventilated area so they get fresh air all the time. Adding ice in the water tray also provides an additional cooling effect. Kind regards Customer Services TeamDon't believe their lies!
Evaporative coolers have been around for a long time and everyone who's ever had one has only ever had 1 because they soon realise that they just make the air more humid and sticky and soon stop filling it with water and just use the fan only so do your pocket a favour and just buy a fan.

You can buy an air conditioner from places like The Good Guys for $239 which actually cools you down, and the room it's in. Its also louder than an air conditioner. They will tell you things like "oh, but it uses hardly any electricity". This is true but it has ZERO effect on either you or the room. Don't be sucked in!

Oh and it’s difficult to get the water into if you can’t bend to the ground difficult to clean as you need to remove screws and if you put it on a bench/table then put water in it’s too heavy to move. It does not have an off timer either. This is a fast money maker for big corporates!Purchased in .

Read more Kind regards Customer Support TeamThe most disappointing $400 I have ever spent in my life. The unit is lightweight but feels flimsy, there is not enough room to put ice that would last longer than five minutes, the difference in temperature was negligible between using the fan alone and cool. We bought it for our bedroom, which is small, and the room actually felt hotter. The noise was intolerable and kept me awake. We only used it for one night. I cannot even watch TV with it running. We were told we could not return it for a refund, but could pick another unit! Not likely. Disappointed with the product, the service and the price. It has put me off ever going in the store again.

Hi Mans,
We are so sorry to hear that we were not able to meet your expectations for the Instachill....
Read more The Instachill works like an evaporative cooler and was never advertised to work like an air conditioner. An evaporative cooler uses water to cool off air brought in from the outside. Water is pumped onto the cooling pads the air passes over and the air will lose its heat to the water. This is why it is also recommend to use cold water (and ice) for extra cooling. The Instachill also works best in a well ventilated area. Kind regards Customer Services Team
