Rip off - won't provide a credit or refund
Yes, we are in the same boat took travel insurance to travel in April 2020, air flights were cancelled by carrier early March 2020 and then the travel ban occurred. We tried contacting the Insure and Go contact centre by phone a number of times and also by email - still no response to an email sent over 3 weeks ago.
Managed to get through by phone and was told I could not get a refund or credit. We've lost all trust and credit ability in the organisation, obviously their not thinking about their customers or their employees. Is our experience a taste of what it would be like if we were to make a n insurance claim?
The organisation needs customers to exist and to keep your employees in a job - rethink your actions!

How dare you
I purchased gold cruise cover in December 2022 for 9 people costing over $1500. Due to Covid-19 the cruise has been cancelled and I expected Insure and Go to refund the money paid for insurance. I was told to email complaints and I have now received a reply saying no refund. I would have expected them to treat their clients fairly by returning their money.

All is not as it seems.
Some class action is needed to bring the disastrous attitude Insure and Go has reflected, to the attention of the public. Why should future clients be subject to such unethical practice? he time and reason for their stance. The ban, however, did not come into law until March 24. Their Duty of Care was to liaise with their customers about this change of events. It seems I and G were far too keen to obtain our money under false pretences. What service are they providing ? Strange,isnt it, that other companies have refunded. Not allowing a credit like the airlines are
I am flabbergasted that this company are not doing their bit like airlines and other companies are, and allowing customers to be in credit to use products that are no longer able to, due to the virus. How dare they profiteer from such a situation! There will be months of pre-paid travel customers who will have to pay double - pay again once they have new dates. I am going to take this as far as I can if they do not do the ethical thing.

Beware no refunds for cancelled holidays
I've used this company for a few years and now that my holiday has been cancelled because of Covid-19 I can't get a refund on the policy I took out for the trip. Really poor form making money out of clients who through no fault of their own have had their holiday plans cancelled. Other travel insurance companies give a refund for cancelled policies. Look around before you take out a policy with them.

they are bandits
took out on 14th January 2020 for a trip 1st may 2020 which the cruise and airline have cancelled . I requested to change the date of poliCy until 21st April 2021 they won't do it so I have lost my money without service being provided. my friend went with another firm and they allowed them to change. shameful behavior insure and don't go won't be using them again and advice others not to.

Absolute Thieves
I took out Gold cruise cover in June 2022, for the Canada Alaska tour, due to commence May 2020. Tour was cancelled and Insure and Go won't cover me. Disappointing.

enses I have incurred is the expected $600.00 + from Air Canada. The tour company cannot give me exact figures until the flights are booked. Flights are not listed yet. Worst company I have ever dealt with if you are googling companies to use don't even think about this one just edit out and move on,
My claim process has lasted 3 months and is still going, they take 15 days to reply to your emails and you can't get hold of them on your phone just a generic call centre who say they will pass on the message, my claims officer [name removed] has copy pasted the same email 3 times over 1 month, so not only does it take 15 days for a reply when I finally do it's just a copy paste of the last one, I'll be taking thi...Read more

These people are theives
We now cannot travel (Corona) but Insureandgo won't refund or credit the money we have paid for a policy we can't use. Customer service is non existant. Tried phone, email and FB messaging but just get no help.

Unbelievable inflexibility
Put very briefly ... we bought Gold travel insurance through InsureandGo last April 2022. The Covid19 crisis has resulted in our travel arrangements being postponed. Our trip was to be in May this year to Canada. I rang InsureandGo and was told I cannot reschedule dates and cannot get a refund ($811). I can put in a claim for cancellation costs. However nothing has been cancelled as the carriers (airline, cruise and travel companies) have advised they will be providing new dates or credits to be used later once the the crisis is over.

Will never buy from them again
Shocking. We bought insurance for our 7 week trip to Europe than we are not allowed to go on due to Covid19 and they will not hold, move, credit or refund.
Our daughter also bought a policy.
We had complimentary insurance with our credit card but weren’t sure that would be reliable so we did not need to buy this policy.
I have appealed and never got a response.
They took my $515 and my daughters $$421 but now can not provide the service that we paid for.
I hear other companies have credited. But not insureandgo.

WOW! How can a company like this simply pocket your money and be so totally callous as to not even agree to a credit or a date change during a event like we are currently going through. This is a very narrow minded approach to business robbing people once but after 6 policies with them i will head straight to their opposition regardless if they are more expensive. I urge everyone considering Insure and Go to simply Go elsewhere. So much for we are all in this together.

So here we have a company prepared to grab money for a policy they will not honour or provide a service for. Would prefer to give this mob zero stars if possible. Outright rejection with a standard reply from an unfortunate front line employee. The company has no clues, nor interest in their customers at this most difficult time. Let me down badly
I'm very disappointed with Insure&Go (who I've used several times). The issue is with this Corona virus mess.
I had to cancel my May trip to the UK, but we were waiting to see how things developed before we changed the dates and / or cancelled.
Insure&Go said they would have covered the cancelation costs if we'd notified them before February - when we had no idea how things would pan out.
If they were going to offer this cancelation facility they should have notified all policy holders about it. As it is, I'm out of pocket (unless I rebook my travel dates) by over $7,000 and they will do nothing for me.

No refund
My cruise was cancelled because of covid-19 so phoned to cancel my insurance. Guess what...NO REFUND. I phoned 10 minutes after getting the message about the cancellation of the cruise. This company needs to step up and do the right thing by its clients. We have no control over this situation.

Looks like there are several of us who fell foul of the "14 Day Cooling Off" clause. We purchased their "policy" just over 5 months ahead of our trip, which was cancelled due to COVID19 a month early by the tour organisation, with a 100% no questions refund, or 124% incentive to rebook. A full refund of airfares and accommodation also. Notwithstanding the severity of COVID19 and that I&G had not been called on to provide any real service -we travelled nowhere - they would not give us even a partial refund, or consider transferring to our rebooked trip.
They have the hide to claim to be an Australian company!

Good cover
It was good value, but no refund or partial refund or credit for the cancellation of our trip due to Corona Virus. I feel this was something out of our control. When I took out the cover there were no travel restrictions. This is probably more indicative of the industry than a failing of a particular insurance company. There was a disclaimer that if the insurance was taken out after a particular date I should have been aware of possible travel restrictions! If I was clairvoyant Id have done Lotto instead. We are advised not to leave insurance until the last minute but that is exactly what I should have done. Very disappointing.

No policy refund or even credit offered, can’t fly due to government ban and flights canceled, 3rd time customer who will never use these deadbeats again. They will be laughing all the way to bank, can only imagine what it would be like if you tried to make a claim . Will definitely post them on Facebook and every media outlet l can think of

Travel Insurance Not Honored thru Insure and Go
Bought travel insurance through InsureandGo in Oct 2022. Since the Corvid 19 our travel arrangements were postponed. Rang Insure and was told, can't refund, can't transfer to another date, only put in a claim for things that were cancelled. And as we know airlines and travel companies aren't cancelling but providing new dates or credits to be used later.

Unhelpful in current vivid situation
Unable to get a credit because cruise cancelled. Said because travel ban in place it absolves them of any liability. Person on the end of phone nice enough but a standard response was all he could give. Will not use again

Hopefully a Senate enquiry which I believe is starting some time soon will force these shonky companies in both Travel Insurance & Travel booking sites to come to their senses and honor their Insurance and products in good faith.
Insureandgo is an agency of MAPFRE a Spanish Insurer which has probably instructed them to play Hard Ball.

Hi, My partner and myself paid in full Helloworld for multiple flights from multiple airlines for a once in a lifetime world trip departing on 6 may 2020 . We also paid in full a trip to Isle of Man during this trip with Sportsnet Travel . There are a couple of conditions that must be met if you would like to claim for cancellation of your trips: firstly, you must have purchased your policy before 4:00pm AEDT on 31st January 2020. Secondly, you must have purchased a tier of coverage that provides cancellation before departure cover. If you meet both of these criteria, you are eligible to claim. The other point you raised is a very valid one too. During these unprecedented times, many companies, including ours, are being overwhelmed with claims and enquiries, and will be slower than usual to respond. We are happy to work with you on this, and we can keep your claim open for as long as you need to get the necessary documents from your travel providers. Something else you should be aware of is that we require you to make efforts to recover what you can from your providers, before adding it to your claim, so please detail in your claim any efforts you have made to recover funds from your providers.
