Never again
Have contacted by phone and was promised a return call about the outcome.. Still waiting.. And yes I've emailed complaints. Don't want a refund just a credit as 1Cover are offering. Been using insureandgo for a long time and recommend them to family but will never use them again

Ripped Off
Like a lot of the complainants below I have been ripped off by this company. I have 3 policies booked for this year and I asked for a change of dates for a trip that was cancelled in March 2020. I wasn't making a claim or seeking a refund just asking for a change of policy dates and like the posters below got the standard 14 day cooling off response. I then emailed a response displaying my disgust at their attitude and received the exact same response as the first time. I then received an email advising me to contact the complaints department which I did but I am still waiting. I only selected this company because they were advertised on the Fifty up club website so I presumed they would be trustworthy.

Still waiting for my refund
I bought a policy for my wife and I for our travel to Vietnam and Bangkok in December for travelling in March.Our claim has nothing to do with Covid 19.My wife got injured and was advised by her GP against travelling and she provided a Medical Certificate.I lodged our claim on March 3rd and to date I haven't heard any communication despite sending numerous emails.I have received a full refund for my hotel and tour bookings which I had booked through Wotif and Viator.I also received a full refund from China Airlines which I had booked through Je...Read more

Trip cancelled due to Coronavirus restrictions and NO REFUND.
We got a quote on the 28th January and purchased the policy on 4th February 2020. Our trip was cancelled due to the coronavirus and I called the company to arrange a refund or credit as I was informed that as I had purchased the policy after the 1st February 2020 there was no refunds or credits as the virus widely known.
Not only did we purchase the policy, we also paid the extra cost due to pre existing conditions, our couples policy cost $289.
We travel twice a year and have used this company a few times, however, we had never had to deal with their customer service which we’re very rude and unhelpful.

No transfer of dates
Due to government travel restrictions we were unable to travel at the end of April. I contacted Insureandgo and asked if I could transfer my policy to a new date in April 2021 as I assume travel restrictions would be eased. Not possible was the reply. So one unused policy, what a rip off. I had another policy with Covermore for a trip in March 2020 and they advised me I could “slide” my dates forward to a time when I felt I could travel. Now that is CUSTOMER Service.

Really disappointed and unhappy with Insureandgo. In Nov 19 I bought a policy to cover holiday in Singapore. Due to coronavirus was unable to travel in April as planned, however the travel agent offered to defer for one year - no additional cost, in fact gave 20% increased cover of expenses . Rang Insureandgo to request the policy to be deferred and was told that was not possible as I already had what I had paid for - ie the risk covered- and I was not out of pocket. I put a query about this attitude on our volunteer workplace WhatsAp and asked whether others who had planned travel and were given deferment were required to buy a new policy, but only found that insurance had been deferred as a courtesy in view of the coronavirus. Given travel companies bending over backwards to encourage travel, the attitude of your company is poor, and I am disgusted. None of our group will ever insure with Insureandgo. Charge fee for no service.
Flight cancelled due to the virus. No refund as it was outside the 14 days cool-off period. They would NOT give a refund. How is this possible? This is charging a fee for no service. I will not be using them again.

All is not as it seems.
Some class action is needed to bring the disastrous attitude Insure and Go has reflected, to the attention of the public. Why should future clients be subject to such unethical practice? Not allowing a credit like the airlines are
I am flabbergasted that this company are not doing their bit like airlines and other companies are, and allowing customers to be in credit to use products that are no longer able to, due to the virus. How dare they profiteer from such a situation! There will be months of pre-paid travel customers who will have to pay double - pay again once they have new dates. I am going to take this as far as I can if they do not do the ethical thing.

Good cover
It was good value, but no refund or partial refund or credit for the cancellation of our trip due to Corona Virus. I feel this was something out of our control. When I took out the cover there were no travel restrictions. This is probably more indicative of the industry than a failing of a particular insurance company. There was a disclaimer that if the insurance was taken out after a particular date I should have been aware of possible travel restrictions! If I was clairvoyant Id have done Lotto instead. We are advised not to leave insurance until the last minute but that is exactly what I should have done. Very disappointing.

Travel Insurance Not Honored thru Insure and Go
Bought travel insurance through InsureandGo in Oct 2022. Since the Corvid 19 our travel arrangements were postponed. Rang Insure and was told, can't refund, can't transfer to another date, only put in a claim for things that were cancelled. And as we know airlines and travel companies aren't cancelling but providing new dates or credits to be used later.

Unhelpful in current vivid situation

Not good enough when dealing with the covid 19 virus.
I could not get a refund or credit on my travel insurance because of the cancellation of all flights due to the Corona virus. They would be making a lot of money from this very sad world event. I will not be using this company again.

Insure & Go are shysters - don't deal with them
We were duped into taking out a travel policy with Insure & Go by an email referral from the SA government's Seniors Card Unit. We took it out for travel to the UK in May. The policy was competitive at the time.
However with Australia in a 6 month lockdown, and the UK happily accepting flights but keeping their own people indoors, the trip is off. I have also emailed Insure & Go about a deferral of policy but they have not had the courtesy of responding. But Paul and Roger have been rejected (see below). With the Covid-19 happened around the world, the holiday makers are not allowed to travel overseas. This means our travel insurance are not used. A credit voucher would be niece.

No refund on cancellation of overseas trip due to covid-19
After taking out a policy with Insure and go, after reading choice reviews, I am very disappointed that we cannot get a transferral to April next year, for our South America trip. Cosmos and Latham Airlines have been great but to hear that our insurance cannot be transferred leaves me extremely frustrated. Never again will I insure with your company.
