I has been nearly a month when we submitted our claims and you won't hear anything from these guys until you call them with another excuses - they are bloddy unprofessional and incompetent!

No transfer of dates
Due to government travel restrictions we were unable to travel at the end of April. I contacted Insureandgo and asked if I could transfer my policy to a new date in April 2021 as I assume travel restrictions would be eased. Not possible was the reply. So one unused policy, what a rip off. I had another policy with Covermore for a trip in March 2020 and they advised me I could “slide” my dates forward to a time when I felt I could travel. Now that is CUSTOMER Service.

Really disappointed and unhappy with Insureandgo. In Nov 19 I bought a policy to cover holiday in Singapore. Due to coronavirus was unable to travel in April as planned, however the travel agent offered to defer for one year - no additional cost, in fact gave 20% increased cover of expenses . Rang Insureandgo to request the policy to be deferred and was told that was not possible as I already had what I had paid for - ie the risk covered- and I was not out of pocket. But I am out of pocket by having to buy a new Travel insurance Policy. I arg...Read more
ued that the company has had my money since November and I have not cost you anything,. But the telephone person was adamant - no deferment. I put a query about this attitude on our volunteer workplace WhatsAp and asked whether others who had planned travel and were given deferment were required to buy a new policy, but only found that insurance had been deferred as a courtesy in view of the coronavirus. Given travel companies bending over backwards to encourage travel, the attitude of your company is poor, and I am disgusted. None of our group will ever insure with Insureandgo. Policies not negotiable
Insure and go have made it quite clear that no credits will be given or dates changed to accommodate future travel during the coming months, and customers will have to wear the cost if they are forced to cancel. This hard line approach flies in the face of many travel organisations which are looking for fair solutions to the current problems.

Charge fee for no service.
Flight cancelled due to the virus. No refund as it was outside the 14 days cool-off period. They would NOT give a refund. How is this possible? This is charging a fee for no service. I will not be using them again.

Will not budge on cancelled trip offer to future credit.
All Clear which is part of Insure and Go have been terrible in making excuse after excuse to take our travel insurance premium even though our trip was cancelled and made NO claims. We were told we could transfer our policy ( plus some fees ) to a new trip later in the year, but today declined flat. Very poor company and totally untrustworthy. Have lost our business forever, costing them far more than the latest premium. What a stupid way to do business...annoy people...lose future business and drive customers to look for ETHICAL companies, if there are any in this business. Plain DUMB.

All is not as it seems.
Some class action is needed to bring the disastrous attitude Insure and Go has reflected, to the attention of the public. Why should future clients be subject to such unethical practice? Not allowing a credit like the airlines are
I am flabbergasted that this company are not doing their bit like airlines and other companies are, and allowing customers to be in credit to use products that are no longer able to, due to the virus. How dare they profiteer from such a situation! There will be months of pre-paid travel customers who will have to pay double - pay again once they have new dates. I am going to take this as far as I can if they do not do the ethical thing.

Good cover
It was good value, but no refund or partial refund or credit for the cancellation of our trip due to Corona Virus. I feel this was something out of our control. When I took out the cover there were no travel restrictions. This is probably more indicative of the industry than a failing of a particular insurance company. There was a disclaimer that if the insurance was taken out after a particular date I should have been aware of possible travel restrictions! If I was clairvoyant Id have done Lotto instead. We are advised not to leave insurance until the last minute but that is exactly what I should have done. Very disappointing.

Travel Insurance Not Honored thru Insure and Go
Bought travel insurance through InsureandGo in Oct 2022. Since the Corvid 19 our travel arrangements were postponed. Rang Insure and was told, can't refund, can't transfer to another date, only put in a claim for things that were cancelled. And as we know airlines and travel companies aren't cancelling but providing new dates or credits to be used later.

Unhelpful in current vivid situation
Unable to get a credit because cruise cancelled. Said because travel ban in place it absolves them of any liability. Person on the end of phone nice enough but a standard response was all he could give. Will not use again

Not good enough when dealing with the covid 19 virus.
I could not get a refund or credit on my travel insurance because of the cancellation of all flights due to the Corona virus. They would be making a lot of money from this very sad world event. I will not be using this company again.

Insure & Go are shysters - don't deal with them
We were duped into taking out a travel policy with Insure & Go by an email referral from the SA government's Seniors Card Unit. We took it out for travel to the UK in May. The policy was competitive at the time.
However with Australia in a 6 month lockdown, and the UK happily accepting flights but keeping their own people indoors, the trip is off. I have also emailed Insure & Go about a deferral of policy but they have not had the courtesy of responding. But Paul and Roger have been rejected (see below). We took out our travel insurance well before the coronavirus, our travel company transferred our holiday because of this unforeseen world incident (which is a stand up thing to do) so we didn’t need to use the travel insurance, when asked if we could change the dates we were told NO transfer, never used this policy $398 of our hard earned money, in their money grabbing pockets the evil of insurance companies at their best. Taking complete advantage of people’s misfortunes.

Disappointed and Frustrated
Like many other reviewers I am very disappointed with this company. Have been a customer for many years and never made a claim but they have certainly lost my business. Under the current circumstances I would have thought they would be considerate of people's positions, as are many other travel insurers, airlines. hotels, etc. I did not want a refund - just a "change of date" on the policy as my cruise was cancelled. But no go! $850 they have got for nothing!

No refund on cancellation of overseas trip due to covid-19
After taking out a policy with Insure and go, after reading choice reviews, I am very disappointed that we cannot get a transferral to April next year, for our South America trip. Cosmos and Latham Airlines have been great but to hear that our insurance cannot be transferred leaves me extremely frustrated. Never again will I insure with your company.

very poor response from Ins &Go having had two policies for upcoming trips cancelled due to cv19 we have been told there is no refund or credit. from insure and go. they have provided no insurance whilst travel and taken our money.! consumers affairs needs to be contacted. this is not right.
all we wanted was a deferment on travel.
is this fraudulent behaviour.

Hi Keith, It's more of, if you did travel and caught the virus that you are not covered. But our dispute is that it doesn't matter when you purchased the policy you haven't traveled yet, We all should be getting a refund. I have read that other travel insurance companies are refunding. As it is not our fault that all travel has been shut down. InsureandGo stand to make thousands of dollars if they do not give everyone back there money. I have put in a formal complaint to the ombudsman now, not just for me but for everyone. I hope you and others can do the same, the more complaints the better chance on getting a refund.

If it's good enough for companies like Woolworths Insurance to refund the policies then it should be the same for all major companies. I'm seeking clarification from them on my 2 policies purchased for travel this year then I will too go the the ombudsman. In a spirit of goodwill from them I'd even be happy with credit for my future travel.
