Not one of my most well advised purchases
Although I did a fair amount of reading on dehumidifiers, what they can do and how to use them, I found this unit to be not particularly useful.
Certainly, the evidence is there to see when you remove the water tank. It does extract water from the air, no doubt about that, but whether it makes the environment any more comfortable is another matter.
It has its own hygrometer built in (humidity meter) to show you what's happening but the reading strangely goes up a bit after a period of coming down, as though the surrounding air suddenly becam...Read more
e more humid and the unit can't keep up. I read that using a dehumidifier can be useful in combination with an air conditioner so I experimented with that. I have a separate digital hygrometer/thermometer in the next room. The dehumidifier and air conditioner ran together for a few hours, during which time the humidity hovered around 55%. I decided to switch off the dehumidifier to see what would happen (air conditioner remained on). Within minutes the humidity dropped to 47%. That makes no sense to me, and I'm afraid it seems I bought a device that may be useful for certain applications but not ones I had in mind.Purchased in October 2021 at Sleep Solutions for $249.00.

Not too bad
Looks good, appropriate price, convenient to move around, doesn't smell like desiccant ones, but noticeably less efficient than a similarly sized (albeit more expensive) desiccant at 20C, rather noisy and doesn't allow changing fan speed.
