Iveco Daily 4X4

I own a 2017 Daily 4x4. My front lower quarter panels mounting brackets failed (probably not engineered for Australia's corrugated roads) and one panel developed metal fatigue cracks. Replaced under warranty without problem.
Headlights abysmal. That's what you get standard. But they can be upgraded as a DIY to brighter bulbs and stay within ADR.
I agree the brakes are abysmal. The advertisements and the handbook supplied with the vehicle state that they are ventilated front brakes. They are not. They are solid. They overheat and fade. An upgrade to 37in wheels should not be permitted as it reduces braking by a further 5%. Descending Cunninghams' Gap with a 2 ton caravan behind is a nightmare. It is single lane, double line, all the way down. 1st gear in the 1:1.3 reduction will not come close to holding the vehicle with engine braking. Exhaust brakes will void your warranty was their response. "Tough! We can organise an expensive aftermarket upgrade for you or fit an electromagnetic retarder on the drive shaft. I didn't get an exact quote when told by Iveco it could be as much as $25-30,000.00!"
Brakes are constantly required on Cunninghams' Gapas engine braking can't hold it and you need to keep a good eye out for the emergency off ramps. Very scary as B-Doubles come up rapidly behind with horns blaring and brakes squealing.
Ivecco just don't want too know about it. I have wondered how an ACCC appeal would go on unsuitable and unsafe and not as advertised.
I agree the transfer case mounting is dreadful but I knew about that before delivery and had one of the bushes upgraded at cost before delivery.
I have had leaks from the Addblue filler and tank on three occasions. All replaced under warranty. It is a known problem.
As a 4x4 it is awesome. More economical than Landcruiser . Legal (weights). As a tow tug takes me up the ranges at legal speed but just need to go down VERRY VERRY slow. More comfortable than previous Land Cruiser 200 series but not as good as the Discovery. Noisier.
My only off road complaints so far haves been the height can make bush tracks slow work but as Forestry and National Parks buy more of them the overhead track clearance should improve. Addblue in central Australia is almost impossible to buy. If your planning a remote trip take plenty and refill at every opportunity. I used 110 L between refuellers with Addblue. (Admittedly one had just run out but I didn't want to make 500k detour or wait a week for delivery!)

NO. The brakes are abysmal!
