Great escape vehicle and easy to tow

published

I bought a Jpod sport 2 years ago and have used it on about 15 occasions / 60 days and have not had any problems at all with it, in all types of weather .
I didnt want to attached tent and have never used it as I like to set up in 5 minutes .
Great value for the money and very happy with it .

Extremely disappointing Jayco Flamingo.

published

Again our door frame has cracked and become unattached. The door is now only held up by Velcro, this is the second time this has occurred. The plastic cannot withstand the ups and downs of the highway. We have also had the Perspex pop out twice, the plastic exterior door latch broke and I had to replace with metal. We have a draw that continually falls out, another draw that is lose and the screws holding the microwave secure have let go. Flimsy plastics cannot stand up to everyday use and workmanship on cupboards is questionable....we are very disappointed as we have had 2 previous Jayco that were great....but we won't be buying again as we are sick of the issues every time we take it on a trip.

Progress from camper to pop top

published

I have tented and camper trailered and the pop top is the next step.
Purchased 6 months ago flamingo outback 2011 model.
Like new. Easy to trailer, easy to set up, comfortable and it does everything we want.
My current model bt50 pulls it easily.
No complaints.

Not very robust but basically a competent design once you iron out the bugs

Excellent

We brought our Jayco Flamingo in Dec 2007 and got ready for our "big trip" from Melbourne to Cooktown. We left in February and were on the road for five months. We had its first service in Dubbo at a cost of $200 a bit of a rip off as we do not think that they did anything to it.When visitors came inside the Flamingo they were surprised at just how roomy it is much bigger than a pop top caravan and so cool at night in the tropics. If anyone is thinking of getting a caravan look at a trailer first.
The great thing about the Jayco Camper Trailer is that anyone can tow it and I mean anyone
It does take a while to set it up about 45 minutes all up but once you do its great

Flamingo

Does anyone have a 2015 flamingo touring model that has 2 water tanks 70 Ltr each, twin batteries, roof rack and hot water service with outdoor shower taps fitted form dealer and can share tow ball weight, atm, tare weight from compliance plate. Reason being went on weigh bridge and jayco have standard compliance plate and don’t account for extra accessories fitted which gives very little in terms of payload capacity Feedback appreciated In advance
