Faulty wiring
Found faulty wiring in my three year old Silverline Outback 25ft we ordered and took delivery in October 2015 there were some lights not working when I went to check the van prior to going on holiday. 10amp light fuse was blown. As I am and electrician I proceeded to fault find why?? Found the wires supplying the shower LED and exhaust fan had burnt through the wires insulation and shorted the active and neutral wires together. You could see evidence of a burn but lucky the fuse blew. Could have been worse if the van caught on fire. The two wires were squashed, that would be due to factory installation within the ceiling. This is our third 25ft Jayco and never had anything like this before.

excellent layout
Having recently purchased the 25ft Outback Silverline and travelled approx 12 thousand kms we are more than satisfied with this van. Sure every van has some problems, mostly minor.
However the one thing that is surely a manufacturing mistake is the entry door which should never have been fitted to this van. The glass section of the door has a magnet assembly glued to the glass to hold it open, no other stoppers are attached. Our door flew open 50kms from Canberra and smashed the glass to pieces.. Jayco were not interested in fixing the door an...Read more

Great value for Money
Purchased the new Silverline in June 2014. We've now done approx 20,000 km and on some rough roads. Had a few minor warranty issues originally but all fixed satisfactorily by Jayco. The only complaint is the quality of the cabinet work with most drawer runner screws falling out but considering the other caravan we were going to buy was $50k dearer, having to put a few longer screws and a bit of timber backing in to repair them I reckon I'm a long way in front. Replaced the single step with a double step. C'mon Jayco this is an outback van. I...Read more
t needs a double step. The van tows extremely well, the ESC system is brilliant and while the van is no lightweight our RAM 2500 pulls it easily. Would I buy another Jayco? Yes It's now 6 months later and we have added another 7,000 km to our travels. Still no issues with the van, however, we did have some storm (wind) damage to our annex at Point Samson. We were heading south so-called Exmouth Caravan Repairs (ECR). They had the necessary parts in stock -- joys of having a Jayco -- so we dropped in on our way to the caravan park out at Cape Range and 10 minutes later all fixed. ECR is an agent for Jayco and does a great job. Couldn't be happier with the service from them. If you are looking at buying a van make sure they have a decent network of service centres.1 comment

Another year has past. Now done another 16,000 km around Australia. Still no issues but if you want a good test of a van's structural integrity then drive some of Qld. and NSW. major highways which a... Read more
