Our second Silverline
We purchased our second silverline in July and love its ease of towing and layout. The slide out bed allows great room to move about. This 2018 model however h as had a number of issues the worse being the fridge door. We are now on our second one..this is a shame because its the best operating fridge we have had. This pf course needs to be addressed by Dometic.
Secondly we have had three of our cupboards lock up which Jayco agent will address but have to put up with it for 2 months while travelling.
Then there is a similar water filling issu...Read more

Problem after problem
We purchased our 2018 Jayco Silverline in march of this year, we have had nothing but problems, water tanks not filling completely, tv stopped working after 1 week, we had 13 problems in all in the first 3 months, left it until the service as 3hrs away, thought we were sorted after travelling down main highway hatch door opened cracked the side of the caravan, screws were loose on almost all of the outside doors, to make it worse were told it wasn't their fault.....remember just had a service!! The owner dealer we had to deal with was extreme...Read more
ly rude, not the first time i might add. Since then the awning lights, one section is fading door jams stuck, and tonight just found the front panel is coming off the fridge door. NIGHTMARE they are a lovely set up, but who is doing the QC. Would like our money back, such a dissapointment. If you have any sense don't buy. Only interested in the money not the customer who has to deal with all the crap that comes with these caravans.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

What a great van
This is the 2nd van we have owned. We were initially cautious as there were a number of comments about the Jayco build quality.
Our experience so far has been fantastic - we purchased a late 2016 24foot silverline, the finish and build quality is superb. The service we received from George Day in Perth made the experience even more enjoyable.

It is a caravan park van not a free camping van
The quality fit and finish is good. So far so good with reliability. The van is very comfortable and easy to tow. There is a serious shortage of outside storage which is very important

I could live full time in this van
We had the usual teething problems of a new van, faulty valve, crooked shelf, all minor, and Jayco(Kings in Hobart)stood by the product they sold to us, a new 2017 Silverline,23,5" slide out.
Tows well is extremely comfortable, loads of storage, independent suspension is great, quality fit out.
Large comfortable couch and dining separate.
Very HAPPY vanner.

Excellent - The BEST
Quality is number one - everyone comments on the finish and how good it looks. Replaced a few small screws in the front kitchen cupboards - loose doors but all good now. Would recommend to any one looking for a slide out caravan
Very has never let us down - Spent four days at the country music festival - No problems with running out of water both of us showering twice a day. The solar power system is perfect for living off the grid.
The most comfortable van we have owned - We have had seven vans before this one.
Very - Best by far - Sits behind our tow vehicle like its on rails

Awesome Purchase by US!
Love our Silverline. Initial shakedown trip to Yamba, two huge storms with hail, no problem, no leaks. If you are considering a Silverline, go for it. You might have a few minor issues but they will happily be addressed by your Jayco Dealer (well ours were - Jayco St Marys are awesome).
We used to have a Sterling, which was also fantastic. For the amount you pay for these vans, you get so much. Don’t be put off by the ‘Negative Brigade’. Lovely Silverline!

Comfortable but with minor issues
We bought a 2015 Jayco silverline outback from caravan land. We are extremely happy with the van and we have had many exiting and awesome times in the van. We often will pull up next to other more expensive off road vans that are really interested in our van come and look at how nice and spacious it is and probably regret not looking at the silver line outback.
We can outstay almost anyone due to the comforts inside. I have modified it to have an external sat dish port, Xbox, Apple charging stations, wide screen tv and wireless tv repeater....Read more
The wireless tv repeater works by sending audio and video over radio, I’ve got a battery stand for the tv and as such we can move the tv anywhere about 10m-20m around the van without any wiring. Good for watching news on the beach while having dinner. It’s extremely good to tow I’m using a lifted wh 5.7L V8 grand cherokee and I can still over take on the road. The alko anti sway unit works great. We are now looking at a larger 25 foot version because we now have a family (made in van) and the new layout includes some bunk beds. We take 3 cats everywhere and they have their own overhead compartments for beds and they also love going camping in it. We have always driven the van hard but always looked after it. After several years of use we are able to maintain it to almost new state. We understand that the nature of vans means there are always some minor defects which need addressing. A lot of the time we will reengineer a solution that works better for us. For the defects below I note whether Jayco fixed it under warranty or we fixed it ourselvesSimilar opinion? excellent layout
Having recently purchased the 25ft Outback Silverline and travelled approx 12 thousand kms we are more than satisfied with this van. Sure every van has some problems, mostly minor.
However the one thing that is surely a manufacturing mistake is the entry door which should never have been fitted to this van. The glass section of the door has a magnet assembly glued to the glass to hold it open, no other stoppers are attached. Our door flew open 50kms from Canberra and smashed the glass to pieces.. Jayco were not interested in fixing the door an...Read more

Good design sub standard workmanship
The design of our 2017 Silverline interior and fit out is mostly good. (Except for the bed base coming apart) we find the layout ideal for our requirements. The van is very easy to tow. The reversing camera is a good.
The van has had several problems that you would not expect in something new that cost $70,000.
We have had problems with the sub standard cheap fittings failing in the water inlet assembly. Leaks from the water drains. Range hood that turns itself on an off..
If I had of done a bit more homework I probably wouldn't have brough...Read more

the old silverline to the new
We brought a 2014 silverline that was plagued with problems. Have just brought the new 2017 silverline and I cannot believe the difference. New fridge in thetford, better finish with some evidence of better quality control.
The same van is now 120 kilos lighter on ball weight due to just a few sensible mods.
The real improvement is under the van. I cannot believe how rough the 2014 was underneath with plumbing and wiring just poked and finished anywhere. Plumbing and wiring passing under the chassis just waiting to be severed by road d...Read more
ip or obstruction. There is no more cross members with floor rails that run the length of the van. Wiring is well hidden and protected, with plumbing made to fit within the underside of the van. The real eye catcher is the plastic sheets laid between the chassis that make the underside much neater and more streamline. Just maybe Jayco are starting to listen to their most valuable asset, the costumer.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Not happy
I will never ever buy another Jayco caravan, we bought a Silverline and we have had nothing but problems with and Jayco Melbourne want nothing to do with us. It was suggest that the age of our caravan is at fault (its 2 years old) and [name removed] is the most rude individual who keeps referring to senior management, well I say to these senior management cut [name removed] loose and use his wage for better quality control on your production line. I would have thought that Jayco crap would last more than two years. I suppose that in a couple of years we will see Jayco vans dumped on the side of our highways with the rest of the trash. Absolutely disgusted.

Great value for Money
Purchased the new Silverline in June 2014. We've now done approx 20,000 km and on some rough roads. Had a few minor warranty issues originally but all fixed satisfactorily by Jayco. The only complaint is the quality of the cabinet work with most drawer runner screws falling out but considering the other caravan we were going to buy was $50k dearer, having to put a few longer screws and a bit of timber backing in to repair them I reckon I'm a long way in front. Replaced the single step with a double step. C'mon Jayco this is an outback van. I...Read more
t needs a double step. The van tows extremely well, the ESC system is brilliant and while the van is no lightweight our RAM 2500 pulls it easily. Would I buy another Jayco? Yes It's now 6 months later and we have added another 7,000 km to our travels. Still no issues with the van, however, we did have some storm (wind) damage to our annex at Point Samson. We were heading south so-called Exmouth Caravan Repairs (ECR). They had the necessary parts in stock -- joys of having a Jayco -- so we dropped in on our way to the caravan park out at Cape Range and 10 minutes later all fixed. ECR is an agent for Jayco and does a great job. Couldn't be happier with the service from them. If you are looking at buying a van make sure they have a decent network of service centres.1 comment

Just love this van
We purchased this van after having a very bad experience with a KOKODA, so traded that for the Jayco. What a pleasant change, with regard to service and product. Jayco have been totally professional in all their contact with us, and the product is also superior. They have even done repairs out of warranty, no charge. This van is very comfortable, with a front club lounge and push out bed, it is easy to set up, tows very well, and is a pleasure to own.

We have now had this van for 3 years, have done numerous free camps and many kilometres, and everythign still works as it should.

Is there a design problem with the Jayco Silverline Kidney door?
I put a deposit on a silverline 21.65.3 for delivery in Nov 2022. Before taking possession I was in Broome caravan park and walked around a talked to 2 separate owners. Have you had any problems I asked. Yes mate they both said. Watch out for your front door. It does not lock properly and can swing back and smash the glass outer door. Well I have taken delivery and just late January guess what happened. Yes the same thing on my van. I have been careful to lock properly but still it happened. Interesting though the door was locked and closed when I stopped, but the glass outer door shattered. Did the door swing open and then shut, or did the glass just shatter due to some vibration? Requests to the dealer have brought the usual statement, mate it is your fault you must have left it open! I know what I did. Anyone else have this issue?

I’m hoping someone can help. I have a 2017 Jayco Silverline and last night we tripped the power. We have everything back working except the lights and the BMPRO android tablet. We spoke to Jayco and they have said there is a 12bank fuse box somewhere (they can’t tell us where). We have found two fuses under the bed and have changed them but the lights and BMPRO still doesn’t work.
Can anyone tell us where the 12bank fuse box is? Any ideas on how to fix the lights or the BMPRO?
Thanks in advance for your help
