Love my Jeep
I have the Jeep Compass MK 2015 in black automatic. It fits my son his friends and the family dog. We've taken long family trips in this car and it always performs well. Never had an issue with it the whole 5 years.
Purchased in August 2021 at Suttons.

Buyer beware
2 months into having car it’s shut off twice due to low oil have been only now told by dealership 2018 Compass were recalled due to faulty engine.
Have had 4 lt oil places and compression test done been told to bring back at another 1000km if issue continues then engine to be replaced.
My concern is if this has already been a problem how can keep and the fta continue to sell them.
When the engine cut out I lost vehicle control crossing busy road with 2 young children in car - where does the accountability stop - this vehicle is unsafe to drive and nobody is taking this seriously. If this continues I will request a case manager and take further.
Buyer beware
Purchased in February 2021 at Jeep Dealers for $29,990.00.

Perfect Family Car
Needed a bigger car for the family as my Suzuki Swift just couldnt handle it anymore. I was sold on the Jeep from the first test drive. It somehow manages to be spacious and comfortable as an SUV without looking like a tank on the road. The drive is so smooth and I struggle to find a single flaw with the car.

Those horror stories about Jeep are still true
I’ll start off with a warning, do not buy a Jeep! We were really impressed with the car, it was good value for money and all the additional features really gave it a feeling of luxury and class. That feeling has absolutely diminished now that we are 8 months into our ownership and the car is at the dealership (for the sixth time) pending a complete replacement of its engine!
Since purchase we’ve had the whole entertainment unit replaced as it freezes and is non-responsive (still does this even after replacement), and we’ve also got an issue...Read more
with the onboard clock (constantly out of sync, no available fix) and the self parking. Our most concerning issue relates to excessive consumption of oil. We found this out when the car came to a halt with a oil pressure low warning on a busy road. A visit to the dealer resulted in a top up and a warning to check the oil levels. A month later and the car had gone through a litre of oil and the dealer conducted an oil consumption test. Following the test, it was confirmed that the car is using too much oil and the solution is an entire engine replacement. Currently FCA can’t even tell us when this will occur because the engine is on back order from overseas, nobody can give us an accurate timeframe. Despite concerns around the safety of driving the car, the dealer and FCA insisted the car is safe for the road, but we aren’t convinced and can’t risk the car stopping on a busy road again. I would honestly suggest you avoid this brand and this model of car, a simple google search on this model and brand finds numerous other concerns around oil consumption and issues dealing with FCA. The biggest issue we’ve had is that the dealer can never just “fix” anything, it always requires them to lodge cases with FCA and then bring it back another time... which just annoys me because it’s so inefficient and a real waste of time. The biggest thing is that the dealership seem inexperienced and unqualified to even diagnose and repair problems, every single issue we’ve had is “something new” and requires consultation with the head office. Honestly, how can you sell a car and not give your dealerships training on issues and how to manage them. Don’t fall for the sales gimmicks, Jeep are absolutely horrible to deal with once you’ve got a problem. Ours still hasn’t been resolved and so far the people we’ve dealt with have been useless! I lodged a formal complaint and had some young lady call who clearly didn’t even read my complaint because she had zero idea what the complaint was about. Luckily, I’ve sent a complaint to the CEO and we’ve finally got a case manager. We are unfortunately stuck in a 4 year lease otherwise we would be selling the car immediately! Our aim is to force FCA into a replacement or buy back so that we can just move on with our lives!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

The Jeep Compass is a nice SUV, For long traveling, this the SUV.
Really good on the NZ roads, the got lot of function.
For city run, high of the fuel, but for long distance, really great.
Try this and you all will love it.
Good Luck..

I use my car for commuting and family transport
The back seats are wide enough to have two car seats and a person in the middle, I love the recline feature as well! The only thing I would like is air conditions vents in the rear as it can get a bit warm.

Jeeps are better than critics say
Jeeps always been good had Patriot for price style but was a little cramped for rear passengers was hit by young driver and both cars were considered wright offs I do question that as mine only had headlamp wing and front bumper damaged. The Compass north more room side styling not to my liking but got as a free replacement so was an good upgrade Both have CVT box love them better than Auto or manual.Don't need 4x4 it's all we want.Only things are bonnet catch on left, wipers and indicators wrong side and self cancel if you turn wheel slightl...Read more

I liked the car when I bought it. After one year of driving, one night one the busy freeway the car
Love the car, the Color is perfect, the exterior of the car is comfortable. The leg room at the back little bit tight. Running cost is more than I expected apart from the problem with safety than I don’t know how can be resolved if the service people don’t know what is wrong with the car. The car stops on the middle of the road with no warning losing the power. After may you 20 seconds starts again as nothing happened. Too dangerous to drive on the road especially on the freeway.

Superb Car
Just purchased 2013 Jeep Compass absolutely superb car, Performs and handles well nice and quite, has plenty of leg and head room and lots of gadgets i.e. sat nav, reversing camera, dash cam front and back, even has boom box speakers in the tailgate, it's reliable and very fuel efficient. Couldn't ask for a better driving experience cant wait to hit the open road.

Very happy with this car.
For $10000 less then all the other SUV's we can't really fault this car. Bought as demo in 2013 it has been very reliable. Comfortable and still stylish looking. Cons- boot is small and it can be sluggish and thirsty on fuel however being that I am not a race car driver and I don't travel far it suits me fine. Had all the mod cons and easy to drive and park.

Great Car! Excellent comfort! High Fuel Consumption!
Great powerful car, good torque and easy to drive. Decent interior, dash does look inferior but complete with required gadgets as needed, excellent NAV system, sufficient mp3s storage of 20GB inbuilt hard disk, ample of interior space with great legroom. Voice recognition for phone calls does have some drawbacks but isn't an issue if speak slowly. Great for long drives, trips and picnics. ample of room in the boot for camping, sporting or for just a weekend away. Love the purchased on a whole and the one thing I had to compromise with will be the high fuel consumption on Ron95 or Ron98! Otherwise it has been my best buy!

Worst first new car I have ever bought
What can I say, my friends warned me not to buy it. After its stylish good looks the rest is just floored (in my opinion)
Ever since new, I have had nothing but problems with it. I got a 2013 manual sports 2.4 litre but missed out the auto upgrade for free 6 months later. This car really disappoints and I have done very little kms in it as I'm worried it will just fall over. All I'm doing is nursemaiding it till I can sell it. From 5000kms the vehicle started making clacking noises from the left front tyre, I have made so many return warranty ...Read more

Grandparent friendly
Good visibility and easy to drive. Two car seats to accommodate the grandchildren and still rom for all my golf gear. Who could ask for more? Well, good fuel economy and excellent navigation system make city driving a breeze. Comfortable seats add to a great driving experience on country roads

Excellent purchase
Been driving a 2014 compass(limited) for over two and half years now and no issues at all.
Good handling on both 2WD and 4WD, have done quite a few long trips and always felt confidant with the drive.
Decent interior, good legroom for the size of the car, dash could have been better, but mind you its a JEEP so I'm fine for it to have the somewhat old school Jeep interior which lacks the fluidity in modern cars.
A negative though is the service costs from an authorized dealer which is in the $500 range, almost double than other brand of cars.

Decent
So far so good. A simple, solid, decent car for around town. Drive is quiet and the car has enough power for city driving. It is not as refined as some vehicles in the same price range but has all the features needed. Much better than some reviews might suggest

Don't buy a small Jeep, the big Overland was a dream though.
Just like someone else (Pav), I had to downgrade from the big Overland. The Overland has been a dream to drive, high class, with everything anyone could dream of. In my better days, I have driven Rangerovers, Landcruisers and Landrovers. Out of these, the Grand Cherokee Overland was the best.
Now, it is understandably different to drive a small (I call it crappy) car like the Compass North. A bit like drinking mineral water after you have been drinking champagne for years. There are a few nice things about it, the leather seats are comfortable,...Read more

Disappointed comparing to my previous Jeep
I was a Jeep person. Due to a family reason I need to temporarily downgrade the size of my vehicle so naturally I went again for a Jeep. Unfortunately, this one is not good at all. To name some issues delivered with the new vehicle: steering wobble at certain speed, tire pressure control false alarms, consumption much higher than advertised, wind noise, one heated seat not working, self initiated false alarms in the middle of the night waking up all neighbors, remote opening failure etc. I am no longer a Jeep person.

Warning about Jeep Australia
I bought a Jeep compass, worst mistake I ever made. It turned out to be a lemon and they didn't care. They breached the contract of sale as I had items on there that were required prior to delivery. Not all were completed.
Car would stall and would lose all power while driving. The service department manager said it was because it was a cheap car and the gear box is a cheap one that doesn't really work well. After explaining the issue many times and providing video they finally saw the real problem, never fixed it, kept dodging my calls. Then when it came time for a refund they ran....
In the end they had the car (I was paying for) for 6 months trying to fix it and it was never fixed. Now I am left with no car and a debt.

Not As Bad As Made Out
I have recently purchased a Jeep Compass limited brand new and could not be happier about my purchase, I compared it to many other vehicles in the same class, and many could not come close to the value for money, looks and features that the Compass offered. Being my first venture into an American built car, I am quite impressed. The interior has ample space, easily allowing for up to 5 adults. The multimedia features are also impressive with Bluetooth connectivity,DVD playback, reversing camera and navigation. Additionally the Limited's Boston ...Read more
audio system does not disappoint any of your favorite tracks and offers strong natural bass with minimal distortion. The Limited's leather heated seats are of a premium feel keeping you nice and warm and the stitching around the seats adds to the compass's style. Being a regular night time traveler the adaptive review mirror is of a great advantage, reducing the glare from other cars. Other great features of the car include an automatic driver's seat, heated side and folding mirrors. The only fault that i could find with the interior is the lack of a soft touch dashboard, but even then that is of minimal concern. On the road the Compass is not the fastest of cars but the Limited's 2.4L engine offers ample acceleration and given that the compass is a small cross over SUV and not in the sports sedan category, the acceleration offered is more than enough for users in that market. The 6 Speed transmission is very smooth in shifting and helps to keep RPM's at around 2,000 at 100km/h. I have yet to get a true feel of the 4WD mode but given it's a Jeep it will be more than enough for light adventure. Fuel consumption is somewhat average and is around 10.0 L/100km when city driving. When at low speeds the cornering is good but too fast and it will give a tilt feeling. Overall I am impressed with the car and I will have a look at Jeep again when I want a new car.Similar opinion? Before I sold this car I took ot to an independant car servicing agent to look at the suspension. He asked me if I had been in an accident as the left front suspension was shot. Now this infuriates me... Read more
beyond belief and now I know the dealer was stalling me and hoping the warranty would run out first, even telling me to take it to someone else as they could find nothing. And yet an independant auto servicing outlet (well known Australia wide)) found this in one service inspection. If you live in Western Australia and you see commercials from a braggy old has been car dealer who has been around for a long time talk about how good he is, trust me he is not and his service dept cant be trusted ever!!!!!
