frame trucks at the time. Compared to the more popular XJ Cherokee brother, this one has more interior room and a better ride, along with a technical advantage in coil suspension all-round. However, it was heavier and slower than the XJ, and had a transmission that generally did not last as long as the unit in the Cherokee. At this age the orginal Grand Cherokee is still going strong. One can expect a number of minor electrical fixes as there is a lot wiring going to all the features and warning systems etc. But certainly no more than later models, and after replacing a $20 part that is the crank position sensor, this 4.0 will be very reliable and capable transport indeed.Similar opinion?
