Lose your card and you lose all your transaction history
I reported my card lost and so it was cancelled - as you would expect
But when Jetstar cancels the card they take away all access to statements and transaction history on the www. As their default position re statements is for the customer to pick them up online. So when they delete all your transaction history you are in the dark. Regular automatic payments cant be tracked back and all sorts of info that you want can't be accessed.
This is typical of this card which I hate. I only use it because of the exorbitant credit card fees Jetstar c...Read more

Worst service
I applied for this card a few weeks ago, thinking it would be a nice and easy way to get some Jetstar flight credit. Anywho, I called today to see what is wrong because it's been 10 working days. I spoke to [name removed], who kept putting me on hold (about 5 times each), and the end of the first call was just that she would 'follow up'. I then found this website, and looking at the reviews I chose to bail. Peace
Slow, service extremely bad- i'll stay with commbank who have australian operators

Incompetent or a con
In late 2012 (IIRC) Qantas sponsored a Visa card from HSBC with 20,000 points which I applied for and with minimal fuss I had the card and my pin number within a month.
A bit later Qantas put an ad for the jet* m/card on its web site in July (or thereabouts) 2013 saying that it would get one 30,000 frequent flyer points. This sucked me in but I also thought a second, low limit card would come in handy to limit my losses in online transactions etc.
After hearing nothing for two months the process started and went on and on with people ring...Read more
ing me up to ask for doc but having no email to which I could send scanned documents making me wonder what on earth was going on. Then about the 11th of November my card arrived, having been preceded by a jetstar/cards logon-id and initial password, but no pin except for an invitation to contact them in a week if it didn't arrive. Of course it never turned up. They said I had to use it on an eligible purchase within a short period to get 15,000 points. What about the other 15,000 then I asked? Oh you have to spend another $5000 on eligible purchases on the card by the end of November. That was the first I'd heard about that and I can't help but feel they, in contrast to HSBC, had dragged the process out so long so as to make it virtually impossible to get that second 15,000 points. I put that to them and the response was there had been a very large uptake of the offer which swamped them but I was and still am dubious about that as HSBC would have had the same uptake (if not more, coming first) and it went through like clockwork. Anyway not getting the pin I thought OK I'll use it to pay my utility bills using jetstar banking to at least get the first 15,000. Three months afterwards I caslled them to ask what had happened with those points. Oh they said, they weren't eligible purchases. So I cancelled the card immediately. Incompetence probably but a con can't be ruled out. If I had known that the Macquarie Bank was behind the whole shambles I wouldn't have touched it with a 40ft barge pole. CancellingSimilar opinion? Misleading and deceptive practices, any credit card through Macquarie Bank avoid. Liars!!
Entered a short term hardship plan with them when unable to make payments short term. They promised it would not affect the account or credit record in any way. Met my obligations. Then they cancelled the account anyway! Absolute dogs. Ombudsman very unhelpful as Macquarie did not put their statements in writing. They are liars and Macquarie Bank are an unscrupulous and arrogant institution. The customer service staff are all from overseas and have limited English skills. Collect the 100,000 Qantas points at no cost
Receiving 1 Qantas point for every dollar spent with a MasterCard is brilliant as long as you pay the full amount of statement each month by the due date. I collect 100,000 points in about 8 months and then do not use the card again until its anniversary date and points start accumulating.
Usual MasterCard benefits
Will limit to 100,000 Qantas points

Late Payment Fees After payments are received
I have received a number of late payment fees AFTER I have made payments. I have proof. The call centre operators are robotic, follow long-winded scrips for which they will not be diverted and are completely unhelpful. I also earned 100points and had them disappear a few weeks later. Unconscionable.
Unfair fees. Poor service. Problemtic BPAY funds transfer.

I should have read all the reviews first. Don't waste your time with these people. I wasted nearly 3 months and that was only with the on line application only to find out they are totally incompetent. Could not seem to contact anyone in Australia. Do your research online and then go elsewhere!

Horrible experience - Jetstar Platinum Card
Applied for the card during a $0 annual fees promotion in Oct 2012 and waited 3 months for the cards to arrive. Shocked to find annual fees charge on my first statement. Rang customer service and was reassured by CS rep, Mr JD on 14 Feb 2013 that the annual fees will be waived and credited in my next statement.
On Sunday 24 Feb 2013, another customer service rep informed me that annual fees will be levied on my account. I find it confusing and frustrating over the contradictory replies from Jetstar customer service. Decide to cut my card an...Read more

Macquarie run a worse card service than Jetstar do an airline!
Got suckered in by the points offer, thinking this would be smooth, I should have remembered past experience with other affinity cards.
Nothing but problems since day one, the support staff are useless, they say something will happen it doesn't then you call up and start the cycle again. Can't reset passwords for their website access, but you need it else you pay $7+ for statements.
Application was quick
Service once you have it is excruciatingly painful.

Jetstar Platinum CC, my everyday card.
Added this card to my collection last January as a short term replacement for my Citi Platinum. Compared to Citibank, this card has been a breeze. Used as my everyday card & is paid off fully at month end. The application process was easy and the QFF bonus points for signup, and annual fee exemption, were excellent incentive. I don't need the free travel insurance but it could be useful for some people. The online banking facility is a bit clunky.
QFF sign on bonus points, no annual fee, CC fee free transactions when booking with JQ.

Horrible experience - Jetstar Bad Card
Horrible experience. Their customer service is terrible. Too hard to deal with them. We've close the account in August and they haven't closed the account and keep sending bills. This is even after calling up so many times. But they really don't get it.
There are so many credit cards out there. Don't get Jetstar, just keep away from them.

Terrible
BEWARE JETSTAR CREDIT CARD
Don't be fooled into their balance transfer offers, get $100 credit on flights offers!
For a start if you purchase anything on the card after transferring your balance from another card, it will never get paid off and interest will accrue on them!
All money paid will go firstly to balance transfer, and I mean all money. Not one cent will go towards your current purchases. Imagine the interest they will get from this little trick.
Watch them.
interest rate is 11.99% on purchases & no fees on booking flights for Jetstar

Good
Over all the mastercard is a good card,, no whiz bang stuff but if u fly jetstar you will appreciate the no fees when booking. Accepted everywhere looks good as well if your into that.Rush out and get that now asits a good card,, macquarie bank who underight the card try to get u on to their cards after a while though.
Interest rate is good, contact is always there when you need it, online is avaialble, No fees when booking a jetstar flight,, overall a good card.
Dont accept a platinium upgrade as they put all of ur purchaser on the 20% rate as soon as you accept,, didnt like that.

You want cheap, you get cheap
I have had many credit cards over the years. This one is my least favourite. Sure, you dont get slugged with the credit card booking fee when you purchase Jetstar flights on this card, but thats really the only perk. The customer service is mediocre. The structure of the card is terrible. Once I purchased a large transaction on my card which took me just under my credit card limit. Interest charges were added 2 days after that which took my balance above its limit, so I got hit with a $40 fee, even though I made a payment on the card the same d...Read more
ay! Another time I went over my balance by $3, and got charged $40 on one day, and then $40 2 days later- because it fell "within a different billing month". $80 bucks for being over my card limit by $3 for less than a week is rubbish, and no other company I have used would do this!! Just crappy overall. The interest rate isnt even really that competitive anymore. Points awarded for Jetstar Vouchers Hidden fees and stricter conditions make the fees on this card outway the benefits.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I took out a Jetstar Mastercard and did a little balance transfer - pretty simple operation. Started using the card only to have it blocked after two months of use.
The block wouldn't be lifted until I paid out to the level prior to the balance transfer - handy for a bank that doesn't want customers to be sitting on that low balance transfer rate!!
In the meantime, you speak to some folk there with pretty difficult to understand accents. not sure if it is off-shored or not, but they were most unhelpful.

Do not use this card.
This is by far the worst credit card I have delt with. Firstly do not use this card to put holds on hotel rooms etc, because well after you have paid and left the hotel even weeks latter the amount has not been returned to your account. This was not the fault of the hotel but Jetstar themselves who admit that the system tries to pay for accounts that do not exist and they will keep trying to pay it no matter how many times the hotel refuses to accept the balance transfer. Secondly when making a payment on the card I dont know where the money go...Read more
es but it takes upto six days to appear on your card to reduce the interest payments. Thirdly I have never delt with a overseas call centre so poor in communication and the ability to resolve simple questions. Really they are so bad that you can ask a question and they will provide a response to something you didnt ask. Fourthly, I lost count of the times the card was rejected by merchants, of course every time Jetstar stated that all the merchants were at fault. I cant go on any more, I could but the trauma of even thinking about the call centre experiences is giving me flashbacks. Poor customer service, Overseas call centre well below standard.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Does the Jetstar MasterCard have a mobile app?
nothappyasked
I recently applied for the jetstar promotion master card 25,000 points and received a email confirming the application asking for proof of income to be sent to complete the application.
But when i went to send the proof of income i could not find the email from Jetstar to reply nor could I find the original application email I had sent initially?? They had both disappeared and make me wonder if there is a scam at work?
I phoned 1300 150 100 they were reluctant to look up my application and kept saying just send your proof of payment, i asked for the email to be resent they said they could not resend it?
I am reluctant to follow through as I find it very strange that both Jetstar emails could Vanish from my inbox and sent mail !!
Anyone else having the same problem, i'm worried the information sent is being scammed.

I think Macquarie Bank are running a scam which just serves to reinforce their image, which makes the public image of used car sales people look angelic.
The cost of these promotions QFF point promotions is the cash MacqB has to pay Qantas to buy the points and they have worked out that by dragging out the process so as to delay one being able to use the card before the promotion closes they need not buy any points at all, yet they still pocket the annual fees. This is deceptive advertising in my view.
Then they also have all this financial information about people and heaven knows what use they make of that, they may well sell that to other organisations. All that nonsense about can't send an email in this day and age is lie.
This is an all too common experience as documented on Product Review plus others e.g. Mozo.
Thankyou. I have hesitated continuing my application as I feel unsure of the overseas help?
Plus making payments internet for me seems daunting. I must say though as far as Jetstar itself we have no complaints.
I feel concerned for the future generations trusting and selling their soul to unknown identities.
It is a difficult web to avoid, which has introduced an insatiable greed to the world.
Yet now that the internet horse has bolted only time will determine its outcome. We can only brace ourselves for a rough ride sadly some more than others.
