pretty good machine
well all other reviews here are from amateurs I have done 750 hours with mine and apart from blades the odd belt and services every 100 hours it's still performing perfect, I still haven't put new spark plugs in it they are still sitting on the bench.
I mow about 8 acres with it all rough and rocky in the wet season the mission grass is about 6 foot high but it still cuts through it at just over idle no problems I also tow a 44 inch tow behind mower with it and cut 88 inches, no problems with the transmission.
If you want the deck to stay good don't rev it high that just smashes it in rocky conditions.

Excellent mower
I have had this mower for a few years now and have just clocked up 250 hours. It is the fourth ride-on I have owned and easily the best.
I use it for mowing a fairly rough two acre block and apart from routine servicing have not had to spend anything on it. Servicing is quite easy for the home owner and easier than other makes I have owned.
I have read some other reviews on here where people have had transmission issues. Unfortunately some people buy a ride-on mower and expect it to do the work of a bulldozer or agricultural tractor. Use it for what it is designed for and you won't have any issues.
Purchased in March 2021 for A$5,000.00.

Good but...!
I've one about 75 hours on the mower since new. It has started first up every time and motor runs well. My only issue is with the unevenness of the cut. Perhaps the deck is out of alignment and I'll have it checked out. Also it seems the mower is not that great at cutting behind the wheel marks leaving that grass longer than elsewhere in the cut.

Excellent Machine! JD X320 with mulch kit
Very happy with this machine. Just fitted the mulching kit and cannot believe how easy it is to remove the deck! Very good design work from JD. The tractor does a great job and leaves a very nice finish to the grass with the mulching kit. I got the 10P trailer with my purchase, which has come in handy a few times. 4 year/300 hr warranty for extra piece of mind.
Overall, very happy with the purchase of this machine.

Excellent
I bought this model (X320) 12th Feb 09 and am impressed with the finish and design. Old stock at a rock bottom price - very pleased. Measured it up to huskys, Zero turns and no others came close to these specs/price. Had a L120 before this one so the new Kawasaki 22HP motor feels strong and handles long wet grass better than the L120 Briggs and Straton. This is 100Kg heavier than all the other comparable machines so this has got to mean something. Seat is comfy and steering handles well. 4 wheel steer (X324) reduces uncut circle from 21" to 9" ...Read more
but not for extra $2000 have to "hokey pokey" a little more round small obsticals but I have mainly clear runs on my 2ha (mowed area) anyway. I like to tow a little trailer (rules out ZTMs) JD maintain better resale Solid build/finish and practicality all seem to come out in this model - great turning circle and a heavy duty deck is vital to the longivity - 4 year warrenty is testiment to durability. Big solid cast foot pedels, greasing points in key areas, adjustable steering linkages. Massive rear wheels with better quality tyres None........yetWill have to fit a 12v lighter socket for accesories (attachments) but there is a spot already for this.1 comment

Excellent
I have a small garden maintance business with some larger lawns to mow, I tried the Husky,s & zero turn mowers but settled on the X320 as it felt a lot more solid to operate.
I would recomend this mower to anyone who is serious about lawn mowing.
Its a good quality built machine.Very comfortable to drive & has the right amount of HP.
Paying for extras eg; front bumper bar, seat cover, these should be included in original price.

What is a second hand X320, 800hrs, in good condition worth?

Not much pete. I only priced a new one yesterday at the local dealers, they quoted me $9400, I paid $8000 for it 6 years ago.
You would maybe get around $2500.00 for it if your lucky.
Plenty of new stuff out there pretty cheap now.
Cheers Chris
Thank you Chris.
My Old John Deer has mysteriously started working again. ????
So will keep it, not pretty to look at but does good job.

My X320 is 4 yo, about 100 hours, mowing about 3 acres. I replaced the starter under warranty after 2 years. My biggest problem is with dealers supplying wrong parts: the manufacturer swapped and changed things around, so one model can have several configurations. Latest problem - an air filter without a metal guard on it. I found this was a problem when a mouse chewed a hole through the paper filament. I found it early and replaced filter. All the same, I am having mechanical problems. The motor struggles when I engage cutting deck. On servicing it, I found deck belt was badly damaged, maybe caused by a stick. However, I also found the pulleys are very stiff and maybe this is the real problem. Maybe I have over-greased the nipples. Is anyone familiar with this problem i.e. stiff pulleys? Any solutions? I will probably end up getting the professionals to service it.

I'll update this. I've had my X320 serviced now and the problem was the mouse. However, it wasn't the gnawed air filter that did the damage but a gnawed wire to the coil. It's a lot cheaper to fix. If the coil hadn't failed, I might have sucked rubbish into the carburettor, so I got lucky (I guess). Now I just need a mouse trap that can't fail.

Very Disappointed – 48” cut was leaving 2 strips uncut grass behind. Mower was under warrantee has done 8 hours only yet the Dealer deducted $400 at Sunshine.
