4 times to fix carpet
Brand new car, carpet coming away from edge. Have had to take the car back 4 times to be repaired. Each time a different excuse eg needs a special foam and now it’s a special special foam required. Have had to get Volkswagen head office involved who are now proving to be unreliable as the service centre. Keep away from this car and group.

No hassle car sales consultants
I went to John Hughes to look at a few vehicles after looking at the website..No most car dealers you walk into you get pounced on be every sales man in the vicinity, not at John Hughes, you can look around with out being hassled..Felippe was the sales consultant that I dealt with and it was a pleasure to deal with him, friendly, and not pushy .Made my purchase and drove away with a full tank of fuel, it was a pleasurable experiance and I was very happy with the deal i got v..Thank you Felippe and John Hughes

Absolutely robbed
2011 bought Hyundai Accent from John Hughes Vic Park, all cars $14,000, Happy with that, all cars around 30,000 kms, Happy with that . Nearly all cars taxed till December 2011, put deposit down, ready in a few days .went back bought the car but noticed it was now only taxed till June 2011 . How’s about that for, slight of hand . Being a little naive, I never bothered saying anything, but every time I see Mr Absolutely I think about this cheating scam

Professional problem solving.
Bought a BMW X1. Within two weeks had a brake light come on. I rang and questioned the salesman, who referred me onto Eden. Eden called back within the hour, he was impressive with his customer service in helping resolve the problem with ease. Three months registration paid as a sweetener and much appreciated. Brakes replaced with new pads at no cost. A small problem resolved rather then escalating to a bigger problem. Very happy and highly recommend.

Is John, a trustful icon in carworld losing his grip ?
I have bought with my family several cars, new and used at John Hughes. I have the deepest respect for this iconic entrepreneur. He is still active and is active at the business. What an amazing man, with a company built on principles of fairness and honesty.
This makes it even more sad that his senior staff seem to rally against him. Was buying a car for my daughter there with a senior sales person of John, who was even worse than the second hand car yard person that sells 500 $ cars. We were talking about a 17000 $ car here.

Not happy with John Hughes dealership
I have just bought a car from Carz4U which is a John Hughes dealership. I went in as a single female and was treated with such little respect, it was a depressing experience. The salesman kept disappearing in the middle of signing the papers as he was busy trying to get new customers in. He left me with the warranty person who tricked me into getting the 5 year warranty and security tinting. I have since rung up twice to cancel both of these and got the full time warranty man and he was very aggressive on the phone and wouldn't let me cance...Read more
l it, even though it was only bought the previous day. I was continually passed from one person to another and left standing in the car yard wondering where the sales person was as he kept disappearing. Someone else told me that he had taken someone for a test drive. The finance manager came and helped me apply for car insurance online as he could see that I was getting upset about being abandoned. I really wish I had have taken a male with me as there are NO female staff anywhere on site and they are all slick, greedy businessmen. Whenever I queried anything, especially the extended warranty, they keep saying what a great and trusted company John Hughes is. After reading all of these reviews, I wished I had have read them before buying the car. Like others on here, I lost $11,000 on my trade in, in only 3 years! They made out that my car was worth nothing, even though I paid $14500 for it only 3 years ago. Talk about intimidation, when they were valuing my car, there were 3 men standing around talking about the car, saying that it was worth nothing and that they wouldn't even be able to resell it.Similar opinion? Terrible service
Car wasn't ready as they promised.
Said there was a $2000 discount if we bought two cars, it was in fact their online price so no discount at all.
Car had faulty door locks, had to keep ringing to get a time to bring in and rectify. Waited two hours while they diagnosed then told to bring the car back for fixing, it's is 70k each way to this establishment from where we live.
Paid $250 deposit on a second car at the same time but so disappointed with the treatment we received that I have asked for it back, not forthcoming as yet.
Totally upset and frustrated with this car sales yard, would never buy or recommend them.

Fantastic to deal with
We just bought a new Triton and had the pleasure of dealing with Helen Harmans-Boyle a Fleet Consultant with John Hughes. We had extras added to the vehicle and I was very particular of how I wanted the vehicle completed.Helen went above and beyond to give me what I asked for and nothing was to much trouble. It made the experience so enjoyable when the time comes for a new car I will be heading straight to Helen without hesitation.

Sexism is alive and well at John Hughes
Who would believe in today's world, you go in as a female to buy a $75,000+ car and one of the senior salesman has the inability to treat you with the same respect as they would a male and discuss a deal.
The minute my husband was not around this senior salesman attempted to use car jargon to intimate, confuse and then bamboozle with various figures scribbled all over the paper. When I requested for the the deal to be laid out clearly, the senior salesman got all defensive, with it ending by the salesman advising no deal can be made.

salesman even failing to 'double check' with management about whether the deal can be made! Congratulations to Melville Toyota where I found the perfect car and I was treated with respect by the salesman. Melville Toyota has a number of females working there. Not a female in sight at John Hughes - speaks volumes about the culture I personally experienced.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Only and only trust on a reliable mechanic before you buy
I checked on a car in one of John Hughes used car yards. They were swearing it is in great condition, but when I got it to my reliable mechanic, it turned out that the car is in severe engine problems. It might not be the case all the time and someone might find a great condition car; however, I suggest have your reliable mechanic with you or get it for a ride to your mechanic and have it checked before you buy a used car. Save yourself of excessive costs and stay safe on the roads.

8 Month disaster
This Vehicle was supposedly repaired by John Hughes Kia.
This image was from its last Trip to the workshop. These warranty issues have been ongoing since February. Its has an intermittent starting fault.
We are sick of smart alec excuses. This Afternoon Service Manager [name removed] had the cheek to suggest that the vehicle may have a seized engine....No [name removed]...No John Hughes it has the exact same fault that had left this vehicle a liability since it first occurred 8 months ago. We've been nice, we've been patient now you are no lo...Read more

TERRIBLE!! Increased cost when I tried to drop off car.
After spending 30 minutes booking the car over the phone where I gave all correct info i was informed that i would be emailed with confirmation and price, the email was received stating it was a complimentary service, then when I went to drop off car I spent another 30min waiting to be then be told the price I received was incorrect and the cost was $299. Did not proceed with the service and will NEVER use them again and suggest you don't. Badly organised, did not know what service the car needed, terrible customer service, I wasted hours.

Terrible service centre
The welshpool john hughes service centre is TERRIBLE. Such bad service. We have to go back there for warranty unfortunately, and everytime theres an issue with the car the service managers make it seem as if its inconvenience for them. They have no sense of urgency and on both occasions my car has been retained for 1 week + when it really is just a 1-2 day job. I will never ever purchase a vehicle from John Hughes ever again, i highly recommend everyone never to service or purchase a car from here. Service managers are unpolite and do not care....Read more
Seems to be miscommunication between all their staff, as we speak to someone different each time in different departments and no one takes notes on our car so each time, the same problems has to be explained each time and argued for each time. Waste of time and money! Please avoid for your own sakes!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
