I have had the Jura E8 for 2 months and the coffee comes out too cold. Both the espresso and the milk are too cold. The taste of the coffee doesn't seem right and seems weak compared to our other espresso maker so I'm thinking that the water temp going through the coffee is to cold. I can warm up the coffee in a microwave after but this doesn't help the taste of the coffee. Any suggestions?

Hi recently bought a Jura E8. Why is it that the coffee doesn't come out of the spout but comes out where the milk comes out

Cheers

The coffee only comes out of the spout (just behind the milk) when making cappacuino or flat white. (Milky drinks) the main ones in the middle for espresso. Hope this answered your question.

I’m considering purchasing this model but quite concerned with the questions around temperature of the coffee and/or milk. Seems many have this issue as well. Why isn’t the solution, which seems to be a system Configuration not published?

I run through a glass of hot water after the machine turns on its seems to heat up the lines more but of course a latte is full of milk so the milk is hot but not roasting it’s fine but I guess each to their own with how hot u like it. I love this machine especially with comparison to other brands,

I have the same issue as Kim below, and that our coffee and milk drinks are just "warm". I have gone through to set all of the settings to High temp, but after making any drink, especially with milk, we have to head to the microwave to "heat" it up. Please help as I want to LOVE this coffee maker?

I am afraid you will have to do what we did. This machine is great quality but the milk side of the drinks is very poor. In short it is not fit for purpose and you should return it and say so, there is no way to get a hot cappuccino from this machine. We returned ours and purchased the Sunbeam Torino but this is not for everyone, our friends have the Jura E6 and swear by it for hot drinks. It is important when purchasing one of these coffee machines that you get the sales staff to make you a cup of coffee from the machine you are going to purchase not the top of the range version they usually demo. It is not your problem if they only want to demo one machine after all they want you to spent up to $2000 on a machine so you have the right to request a demo of the machine you are thinking of purchasing.

Doug, thank you so very much for taking the time for your response and feedback. I do love the coffee from this machine, but am definitely reconsidering due to the lack of temperature to the milk. I will keep your thoughts in mind when looking....good points sir. Thanks again.

Just got a Jura for Christmas. I have receptacles under all the outlets, but my drip tray keeps filling with water. Is this defective and do I need to return it?

Dear Kim t,
Thank you for your question, no this is a normal process the machine puts water through the brew unit to keep it clean, its the part that moves up and down when you turn on and off and making coffee the water is to remove any build up of coffee and keeps the brew unit moving up and down

Do you clean the tube regularly, use a pipe cleaner to clean it and I always clean the line after using it by choosing hot water setting to flush it out

Dear Paul N,
Thank you for your question, can you please confirm where the milk will not flow through is it the milk line or the frother. it might just be blocked if you can remove the frother and milk line soak in the milk system clean for 10 min rinse in warm water run the milk system and test the machince.

Hi, Just bought this machine and the coffee too is almost cold, I think at best saying it is Luke warm is hotter than it is. There seems to be no setting to make the milk hotter, the coffee is hot but the milk comes through barley changed from its recommended 4degrees... very very frustrating and annoying as this machine is not cheap!!!!!

I agree, it's uneven. Some types of coffee are warm enough but some require an additional 20 sec or so in a microwave oven. It helps to have pre-warmed cups. Jura offers to help in case of any problems so give them a buzz on 1300 285 872.

What are the temperature specs for the coffee, espresso & milk based drinks? Reading that the drinks aren’t hot enough is purely subjective to the individual. The only thing that’s preventing me from purchasing this unit is the lack of information on the drink temperatures.

1 answer
Chris
Chris

The best coffee temperature is between 65 and 68 deg C. Unfortunately the machine has only 2 settings for all types of coffee: normal and hot without specifying the temperature. For good frothing results your milk has to be at the fridge temperature, that is 4-5 degrees but it will always be delivered at 100 deg (like steam). If you still think your coffee is not hot enough you can pre-warm your cups but for me flat white works the best as it gives me more coffee than cappuccino. You can easily pre-set the amount of coffee and the amount of frothed milk or you can have just black coffee like ristretto or even 2 ristretti if you like a strong kick.

Jura so called repair dosent do anything.
Will never be buying another product of theirs.
They must know of the issue and respond private so it’s not public.

The next step would be to make a call to the ACCC. There’s more than one person with the same issue.

It's the temp of the coffee itself that I have a real issue with. It's warm not hot. Same with milk. If the coffee didn't taste great I'd chuck it in the bin. Get a dedicated milk frother that heats the milk. That'll solve the milk problem. They offered to look at machine also but I know they can't fix it as it's an inherent issue with the machine by the looks of it. They said if they look at it and it's not a fault that I would cold be up for charges so no thanks. My mates delonghi makes a hotter cup of coffee but I reckon mine tastes better...could be a the beans though. Make of it what you will...but I'll be more careful before I buy another machine. To answer your original question...there is no solution to the machine itself..I've rung and spoken to them.
