I whole heartedly recommend the machine and have only two small issues with it as stated in cons. However, even though doing one task at a time it is really fast, effortless, with minimal mess and very little. maintenance. This machine is virtually handsfree once you have made your selection. You get froth like you would get head on a beer. I use clear glasses and love the layered colours of the coffee. I rarely buy coffee when going out and use this machine daily. I have no shortage of coffee requests at my house and we easily do 1kg of beans...Read more
a week. Raised eyebrows in approval are a most welcome compliment once a coffee is served and there are no shortages of those. The machine has 5 coffee strengths and the volume of milk, coffee or water can be adjusted to perfectly fill any cup. It comes with a water filter which does help the coffee process and is easy to insert. The machine also cleans itself with the drop of a tablet apart from a superficial wipe. If it needs something it tell you and is very easy to use. We are super impressed! This is our 3rd big bucks coffee machine and is the best by far and leaves the rest for dead. The Jura Z5 really has very few shortcomings in comparison to others where I have given up and opted for instant freeze dried instead. Not once have we bought freeze dried since unpacking this machine. A truly unbelievable machine. We have had this for 8 months. Effortless coffee making, fantastic milk froth, seperate hot water spout giving constant hot water without the whitish bubbly tinge other machines produce. Self cleaning, relatively compact design for a fully fledged automatic machine, water filter enabled. Can be programmed to turn on in morning and off at night. This is about as good as it gets in the coffee department. Although adjustable, Ideally if the coffee spouts could go a little higher to accommodate taller glasses standing on their own. (However almost all coffee machines have this problem!). It performs only one task a time, either frothed milk, water or coffee - not the end of the world. Very expensive at about $4300 big bucks so haggle because you can grab a bargain.

OK
sales pitch - its the "BMW of coffee machines" - not sure that BMW would be happy with that comparison based on our experience. As said above - does have the potential but in my opinion has not delivered.
looks the part - everything is automatic - lots of "froth" if desired. Has the potential to be a really good unit
high priced / poor design with respect to the positioning of the outlets - try making 2 x large latte in commercially available latte cups - all that extra space on the right hand side of the machine - not been used for anything wh...Read more

Highly recommend for someone that wants a fully auto machine. Its better and cheaper (to run) than those pod machines as you are not restricted to buying their coffee, you can use whatever blend of beans or pre-ground you like. Love it.
Have had my machine for 2 years. Makes a real cafe style Latte/Cappa and espresso. You just need to get the ratio milk to coffee/water for a real hot coffee. Love the fact that it is fully programmable and in the morning after turning the machine on, within 1 minute I have my coffee at the push of a button....Read more
Have had excellent customer service whenever I have had a query. Machine has done over 8 thousand coffee's and has not seen the inside of a service centre....touch wood! Takes up a bit of bench space but I don't mind as its looks flash.

i prefer the generation 2 model of the z5 impressa series, it does 2 cappuccinos at one time, can adjust the heat, strength, amount of coffee for each product, easy to navigate and actually tell what button your pressing for the different coffee just by looking at it. we have the z5gen2 at work and its made over 1000 coffee's and its only needed to be cleaned 3 times which again is very easy to do.
great tasting coffee, jura after sales service is fantastic, great 2 year warranty, milk thermo included.
cappuccino nozzle will steam like crazy if there is no milk in the thermo.

Dear Alan L.
Thank you for your question, please remove the drip tray, place your hand were the drip tray goes were the in sits inside the machine feel and check if there is any built up of coffee grounds.
Put hot water in the tank and test the machine. this should clear any air blockages.

My z7 has just started randomly shutting down without rinsing. I had this for 5+ years and it is used daily. It has shut down in the middle of making a cup of coffee and also during a cleaning.
Any ideas of how to fix this?
