Great Product no issues whatsoever
Switched to the Kambrook banquet frypan after Sunbeam changed their lid to have a permanent steam hole in it. I’ve not found the problems that other people here are reporting. We use this frypan almost every single day. The Teflon is now flaking and I will replace it with the same Kambrook model. I think it’s about 3 or 4 years old and I’ve found it is as durable as the sunbeam product as far as the coating goes. It has a much better lid than the sunbeam and cooks just as well so I am very happy with it.
Purchased in September 2021 at Big W for $60.00.

Stay away
I have always used a electrical frypan. First kambrook one and will be the last . I have had nothing but trouble with the thermostat cooking too high or turns off. Causing food to burn. Well a few weeks ago I was cooking and it went off I checked the temperature dial only to have felt a bolt of lightening and a bang...I then felt like my arm neck and chest was on fire I then collapsed I came too only to find out I was electrocuted and ambulance had arrived. I was then taken to hospital. I have since contacted kambrook and sent it back for test...Read more
ing. After reading reviews on here I am seeing it is a problem with the control. I am now waiting on a reply. I was told by the Drs that I was lucky it was my right hand that touched the control because if it was my lo eg it would have gone straight to my heart.Purchased in February 2021 for $70.00.

Teflon is flaking off when rarely used.
It's out of warranty, but only been rarely used to cook roast potatoes, nothing with bones or sharp edges, and the teflon has lifted in several places, so I sent it to the recycle centre in pieces. What a waste of money! I'll probably go back to Sunbeam if my search finds nothing better. Jan could have had the glass lid, which was the best part!

If you want to get burnt get this
This is the worst thing that I have ever gotten. I have to put news paper under it as it splatters everywhere .i have been burnt.and even to night splattered in my eye.
I have gotten a lot of kambrook products but regret getting this.
Look for other frypans.sorry but this is just not worth the problems

Stop dont waste your money
Thermostat is terrible. Burns food even on min setting. Dont waste your money. Very dissapointed. So excited to use this fryinpan but bitterly dissapointed. Have to stand over food while cooking and fiddle with thermostat as does not regulate at all. Burnt my first meal in it and had to throw it out. The temperature was on min.

Better quality thermostat required!
The frying pan is quite good if only used for occasional cooking.
The thermostat is extremely poor quality and does not maintain a constant temperature. You will need to continually keep raising the setting to maintain a constant temperature.
The replacement cost of the thermostat ($62 AU only price online) is more expensive then buying a brand new complete unit ($59 AU cheapest online).
Kambrook's web page for this product quotes quality with 600 hours of testing! I seriously doubt this.
If you want a top quality hard working pan fryer than gives this model a miss. Baby sitting the thermostat is just not on in this day and age.

Excellent Frypan
Plenty of room and depth for large meals. Reliable Temp control. Rectangular shape is much more convenient for storage than the round. Easy to clean.I have found the brand to be reliable with reasonable longevity in the past. So far so good and I would have no hesitation in reccomending this product

Great Buy.
I am so happy with this frypan, because it is just big enough for 2 people & deep enough for a large stirfry or baked dinner......A bit disappointed that you can't warm foods up in it, like pies etc, or cook cakes in it either...
Years ago you could cook cakes etc. by putting an Asbestos mat in the bottom first...
My old Mum used to use her stainless steel frypan for absolutely cooking everything.
Still recommend this new one though, as it was a good price for good appliance.

Very disapointed with my frying pan.
I bought a Kambrook Banquet frying pan earlier this year, I have only used it twice. The first time I used it the thermostat was all over the place, kept turning up and down and set off my smoke alarm. The second time I used it it tripped my safety switch and turned the power off completely in my house, so obviously not safe and faulty. I now have a frying pan that is totally useless !! Very unhappy with being out of pocket as I can't afford to replace it and really needed it ! I can't return it as I can't find my receipt. I will think twice before buying a product from this company again after this experience!
It was faulty and set off my power saftey switch.

You get what you pay for
I agree with all the poor reviews here that this pan will last about a year (less if you use it every day as I do) but seriously, what do you expect for $50-$70? It's in the budget price range for this type of product. The Teflon coating will start to bubble and flake but if you're only going to use an electric frypan occasionally then it will extend the life and perhaps it doesn't matter since you're not paying much for it anyway. I dropped the heavy glass lid lots of times (maybe almost a dozen - not enough bench space) until it finally smas...Read more
hed and had to be replaced. I also accidentally melted the plastic connection plug cooking over a warm stove element but it kept working. So I consider it to be tough and reliable - until the Teflon coating eventually wears off. I kept using mine well after the Teflon started to bubble - it's when it starts peeling that you should stop using it. It's good while it lasts and acceptable for the price, hence my 3 star rating. Large size, well fitting lid, tough/durable Teflon coating will start wearing off in a few months of regular useSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
A big disappontment
During first use the temperature control was out of control. On the lowest setting, the food I was cooking burnt badly and my house was filled with smoke. Our kitchen smoke alarm was activated and I was ready to throw the appliance out the door. Then I couldn't find my receipt as I planned to return it to the point of sale the next day. So, Kabrook, pre test your appliances. You certainly didnt with this one!! Terrible.

Lasts a year then coating lifts
I bought a Kambrook Banquet Frypan in 2011 around February and by April 2012 the non-stick coating was bubbling and flaking. I used the pan according to the manufacturer's instructions and used it at low to medium heat settings (4 to 7 on the 10 level control).
I contacted the manufacturer to complain about the poor quality of the coating - it was so thin that cracking eggs on the pan-edge started to wear away the coating in only 3 months of use - and the manufacturer offered to supply a replacement at $50.00 and wave the shipping costs. Th...Read more
is was unsatisfactory. I cannot recommend the Kambrook Banquet Frypan and I cannot endorse the manufacturer's handling of complaints. Do not buy this product if you want a frypan that will last more than one year. It looks good, legs are high enough to keep heat control above bench top, has a tilter which is useful, and temperature control is good. Coating is thin and wears away very easily. Manufacturer was not willing to replace the unit despite obvious manufacturing inadequacies, all they were willing to do is offer a replacement at $50 and no shipping costs. Not good enough.1 comment
Temperature control was scary. On the MIN setting, the bench top was scorching and the tip of the temp control plug was discoloured and looked as if it was starting to melt.

Bad
Would not purchase one of these again and would spend the extra few dollars on a better brand / quality product. The non stick surface lastest around 6mths before food started to stick and we had only used the frying pan about 2 times per week. Spend the extra money up front for a better pan as you will be only spending the money down the track like we have.
Good size and price
Poor teflon / non stick
Buzzing noise when operating

OK
I bought this large electric frypan because it was the cheapest and I was on a tight budget but now wished I had spent a bit extra and got something a bit better quality. Having a family we do use our frypan at least three times a week from pancakes to spaghetti bolognaise. I love the size of this frypan and the deep sides make it great for stews and stir fries. But the non-stick surface of the frypan probably lasted about four months before everything started to stick, despite using appropriate utensils. So cooking eggs and bacon or pancakes i...Read more
s no longer possible in this item. I would buy a different brand next time so I can hopefully get more use from it. It is a good size. Relatively easy to clean. The non-stick properties are disappointing.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Dissapointed
After talking the wife into allowing me to toss the extremely old and possibly dangerous sunbeam frypan out and buy a new one, i thought that i had scored when i purchased the kambrook, i wish that i had test cooked something prior to tossing old faithful, this thing has a mind of its own, it takes around half an hour tocook a steak, you have to constantly fiddle with the thermostat to try and maintain the heat. What i wouldnt give to have theold one back. And the so called non stick surface really didnt last that long.

Very Happy with it...
I haven't had any of the problems of the previous reviewers. My Kambrook is great. It heats evenly, and quickly. The non-stick coating has been fine, and we use this several times a week. Easy to clean, lid fits well. Perfect size to cook a roast in, or a couple of big T-bones, as well as sausages for the kids.
I would buy this again.
Cooks evenly, reliable, great size.

can I put a banquet frypan in the dishwasher

I wouldn't but don't get it worse thing i ever got, it splattered every where, i had to put newspaper under it and it burnt me a few times, i got rid of it
Only an intellectually challenged individual would put an electrical appliance in a dishwasher, so this is either a joke or a sad indictment.
It has a sealed unit

I have just been heating my frypan up with a wire rack and an oven thermometer in it because I want to write down the numbers and their equivalent degrees celcius so I can take it in our caravan and use it to bake cakes and biscuits. Its cooling down now but my whole kitchen has a burning chemical smell. I've cooked wet meals lkke stir frys with no problem but the smell starts when its heated dry. Is this safe to use like that?

Your problem is outside my experience. I suggest that you contact Kambrook technical section for advice.
I would return it to the supplier or place of purchase.....I've never used it like this, but just for cooking meals.......
I will assume your frypan is teflon. Dry heating teflon is bad. Teflon cooking items should not be heated without content. Over heating causes toxic chemicals to be released. Never heard of anyone being affected by these chemicals though. Teflon cooking items need to have content in them when used or used on a medium level to avoid damaging the teflon. Dry heating teflon is bad.
