Great Product no issues whatsoever

published

Switched to the Kambrook banquet frypan after Sunbeam changed their lid to have a permanent steam hole in it. I’ve not found the problems that other people here are reporting. We use this frypan almost every single day. The Teflon is now flaking and I will replace it with the same Kambrook model. I think it’s about 3 or 4 years old and I’ve found it is as durable as the sunbeam product as far as the coating goes. It has a much better lid than the sunbeam and cooks just as well so I am very happy with it.

Purchased in September 2021 at Big W for $60.00.

Teflon is flaking off when rarely used.

published

It's out of warranty, but only been rarely used to cook roast potatoes, nothing with bones or sharp edges, and the teflon has lifted in several places, so I sent it to the recycle centre in pieces. What a waste of money! I'll probably go back to Sunbeam if my search finds nothing better. Jan could have had the glass lid, which was the best part!

Stop dont waste your money

Thermostat is terrible. Burns food even on min setting. Dont waste your money. Very dissapointed. So excited to use this fryinpan but bitterly dissapointed. Have to stand over food while cooking and fiddle with thermostat as does not regulate at all. Burnt my first meal in it and had to throw it out. The temperature was on min.

Better quality thermostat required!

published

The frying pan is quite good if only used for occasional cooking.

The thermostat is extremely poor quality and does not maintain a constant temperature. You will need to continually keep raising the setting to maintain a constant temperature.

The replacement cost of the thermostat ($62 AU only price online) is more expensive then buying a brand new complete unit ($59 AU cheapest online).

Kambrook's web page for this product quotes quality with 600 hours of testing! I seriously doubt this.

If you want a top quality hard working pan fryer than gives this model a miss. Baby sitting the thermostat is just not on in this day and age.

Excellent Frypan

published

Plenty of room and depth for large meals. Reliable Temp control. Rectangular shape is much more convenient for storage than the round. Easy to clean.I have found the brand to be reliable with reasonable longevity in the past. So far so good and I would have no hesitation in reccomending this product

Great Buy.

published

I am so happy with this frypan, because it is just big enough for 2 people & deep enough for a large stirfry or baked dinner......A bit disappointed that you can't warm foods up in it, like pies etc, or cook cakes in it either...
Years ago you could cook cakes etc. by putting an Asbestos mat in the bottom first...
My old Mum used to use her stainless steel frypan for absolutely cooking everything.
Still recommend this new one though, as it was a good price for good appliance.

Very disapointed with my frying pan.

published

I bought a Kambrook Banquet frying pan earlier this year, I have only used it twice. The first time I used it the thermostat was all over the place, kept turning up and down and set off my smoke alarm. The second time I used it it tripped my safety switch and turned the power off completely in my house, so obviously not safe and faulty. I now have a frying pan that is totally useless !! Very unhappy with being out of pocket as I can't afford to replace it and really needed it ! I can't return it as I can't find my receipt. I will think twice before buying a product from this company again after this experience!

It was faulty and set off my power saftey switch.

A big disappontment

published

During first use the temperature control was out of control. On the lowest setting, the food I was cooking burnt badly and my house was filled with smoke. Our kitchen smoke alarm was activated and I was ready to throw the appliance out the door. Then I couldn't find my receipt as I planned to return it to the point of sale the next day. So, Kabrook, pre test your appliances. You certainly didnt with this one!! Terrible.

Lasts a year then coating lifts

Temperature control was scary. On the MIN setting, the bench top was scorching and the tip of the temp control plug was discoloured and looked as if it was starting to melt.

Would not purchase one of these again and would spend the extra few dollars on a better brand / quality product. The non stick surface lastest around 6mths before food started to stick and we had only used the frying pan about 2 times per week. Spend the extra money up front for a better pan as you will be only spending the money down the track like we have.
Good size and price
Poor teflon / non stick
Buzzing noise when operating

Dissapointed

published

After talking the wife into allowing me to toss the extremely old and possibly dangerous sunbeam frypan out and buy a new one, i thought that i had scored when i purchased the kambrook, i wish that i had test cooked something prior to tossing old faithful, this thing has a mind of its own, it takes around half an hour tocook a steak, you have to constantly fiddle with the thermostat to try and maintain the heat. What i wouldnt give to have theold one back. And the so called non stick surface really didnt last that long.

Very Happy with it...

published

I haven't had any of the problems of the previous reviewers. My Kambrook is great. It heats evenly, and quickly. The non-stick coating has been fine, and we use this several times a week. Easy to clean, lid fits well. Perfect size to cook a roast in, or a couple of big T-bones, as well as sausages for the kids.
I would buy this again.
Cooks evenly, reliable, great size.

Only an intellectually challenged individual would put an electrical appliance in a dishwasher, so this is either a joke or a sad indictment.

I have just been heating my frypan up with a wire rack and an oven thermometer in it because I want to write down the numbers and their equivalent degrees celcius so I can take it in our caravan and use it to bake cakes and biscuits. Its cooling down now but my whole kitchen has a burning chemical smell. I've cooked wet meals lkke stir frys with no problem but the smell starts when its heated dry. Is this safe to use like that?

Your problem is outside my experience. I suggest that you contact Kambrook technical section for advice.

I would return it to the supplier or place of purchase.....I've never used it like this, but just for cooking meals.......

I will assume your frypan is teflon. Dry heating teflon is bad. Teflon cooking items should not be heated without content. Over heating causes toxic chemicals to be released. Never heard of anyone being affected by these chemicals though. Teflon cooking items need to have content in them when used or used on a medium level to avoid damaging the teflon. Dry heating teflon is bad.
