Great fan that justifies its price
Had an old 40cm fan that had seen better days. While researching a replacement, came across the Kambrook KPF849 model. Whilst relatively expensive (compared to similar sized fans), it was receiving some praise so decided to take a chance on it.
Out of the box (there is some relatively simple assembly required to join the base, stand and top head unit) the first thing that struck me was the feeling of quality in the components. Whilst there is a lot of plastic, it felt substantial and that it would last far better than previous fans I’ve used. ...Read more
Once assembled, it stood rigidly upright without any sloppiness in its fixing to the (rather heavy) base. This again was something that differentiated it from other fans I’ve previously used. The supplied Instruction Manual is clear and has numerous B/W diagrams to accompany the text (English only) and explain assembly and operation. Care and maintenance are also covered. Generally all white in colour, it has some silver accents and the five blades are smoked grey semi transparent. Functionality wise, the unit has a small remote control to turn the fan on/off, set a speed (1 to 26), oscillate or set a number of preset programs. These programs allow a variety of tailored settings such as Normal, Nature (fan speed fluctuates to simulate a breeze), Sleep (fan speed drops every half hour until turned off), Comfort (fan speed adjusts automatically in relation to the ambient room temperature) and Silent Mode (fan runs at a very slow speed that generates almost no noise). Most of these work well but when in Silent mode the fan runs too slowly to be useful (unless you have it literally right next to you). There is also a timer built in which not only allows the fan to switch off after a preset number of hours (half hours actually) whilst it can also be programmed similarly to turn on after a set period of time. Twelve hours is the maximum for both operations. While programs are cycled through by pushing a button on the remote/stand, fan speeds are controlled by a jog wheel on both remote and stand. This makes it easy to operate the remote whilst in dark or semi dark situations. Speed settings, program selected and timer settings are all visible on a display which can easily be read from about three or so metres away. The display is amber in colour with a black background and it turns off after about thirty seconds so as not to be visually annoying. Using any function on the remote control will cause it to switch back on. Also, the fan switches off automatically after twelve hours of continuous use.Purchased in September 2021 at Myer Online Store for A$169.00.

F'n awesome fan
Nigh on perfect fan - quiet, effective and extraordinarily well designed. The attention to detail is second to none - little things like the display turns off after a few minutes means that you can use it at night without being disturbed. Everything just works. Well.

Great for bedroom fan
A really stable fan, excellent for sleeping with, the fan on lowest mode is silent, just enough air movement without being annoying while trying to sleep in this awfull heat!
Have just bought this, had heaps of other fans over the years but always found them intrusive and noisy, but this one is excellent!!

Love it!
I bought this particular fan because it was top rated in Choice. Love it! Easy to put together but really strong, sturdy and it looks really nice. Very stable with a heavy base. Worlds apart from the cheap fans you can get (as you’d expect for $169). 26 speed settings and, even in this current heatwave we are suffering, you can feel cool in front of it. The higher the speed, the louder it gets as you’d expect, but no way would I call it noisy and the lower speeds are really quiet. I bought a second one because I was so happy with it.

Excellent..... But the claims of energy savings and silent operation are not want you think....
A very high-quality fan, very solid, premium feel, very well packaged in the retail box. The fan consumes between 2.5 watts on the lowest speed 1 and 30 watts on the highest speed 26.
Keep in mind that much of the marketing spin (no pun intended) surrounding DC fans relates to their low energy consumption and their low noise. In reality, both these statements are only true when running the fan at very low speeds. So yes, it is quieter than a regular 3-speed fan when running at very low speeds, just by virtue that the noise coming from any fa...Read more
n is not coming from the motor, but rather the blade cutting through the air. Both DC and AC fan motors are virtually silent with the blade is detached at any speed!. Again, DC fans do not use significantly less energy than a traditional AC fan. Running the fan blade at the same speed on two identical size (ac and dc) fans will use much the same amount energy. The energy saving claims come into play where you are able to reduce the fan speed below the speed of the lowest speed on a traditional AC fan. So who should buy this fan? (a) Anyone who wants a high quality solidly built fan. (b) People who enjoy lower airspeeds, (c) people who want silent air circulation (at low speeds only).Similar opinion? Absolutely Excellent Fan, SO Quiet!
This is an EXCELLENT fan, it is SO very quiet, you really cannot hear it when on speed 7 or lower and it moves a lot of air on the higher settings too. It is wonderful in the bedroom because you can put it on one of the lower speeds and it does not disturb you when sleeping with either noise or too much breeze. The remote control is easy-to-navigate even when there are no lights on in your bedroom and you want to alter the speed as the air temperature changes during the night, and what a great idea with the display, it only lights up when you change a setting and just stays on for a few seconds then goes dark again.Very stable, low energy, quiet and a clever design, so glad we purchased this product, it is just superb and worth every cent.

Good fan with low speed
The functions are good but the speed is very fast yes it can provide a sufficient air to certain place but you can't cool down a whole room. Very light weight with firm stand can be useful for air conditioning systems. Best of children because of safety grill and low speed.

Energy saving pedestal fan for year round comfort
Surprisingly well constructed and solid, this fan is an excellent addition to any home. With a DC motor running almost silent, the energy savings are more than 50% less than regular fans of similar size. The fan includes smooth ossilation, up down and side to side adjustments owing to the robust structural elements. As well as a clear functional electronic timer there is a handy yet possibly annoying function which allows the fan to automatically turn off 12 hours after the last speed adjustment. The compact ergonomic feeling remote with 5 prep...Read more
rogrammed settings, ossilation and 26 incremental settings for the fan speed in normal mode makes feeling comfortable easy. On the white elongated sculptural stem a rotating wheel controls speed manually along with the adjacent ossilation and power buttons. Combined together these features make this rather elegant fan a sound investment in a product that looks to have a long and reliable lifespan.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
