Quiet boiler but the lid has started flying up preventing boil cutoff

published

We've had this kettle for over 12 months and whilst it has done a normally decent job of boiling water just recently (past the 12 month warranty period of course) the lid keeps on flying up preventing auto cutoff (as per a couple of other reviewers). I would be very wary of this particular product and instead buy one with a normal (no moving parts) lid.

Best ergonomic kettle I could find

published

I’ve been looking for a new kettle but am extremely fussy about the ‘feel’ and ‘handle thickness’ of a kettle. Some handles are too thick and the kettle falls forward, unbalanced, when using when full. Not this one, the handle is a perfect thickness and easily balanced when full.
I’d recommend this kettle to people with sore hands, arthritis etc.

Doesn't taint water, but shame about the corrosion

published

Unlike many modern kettles this one didn't taint the water even when new. This is probably down to the fact that the level indicator is connected to the interior of the kettle only through a small hole rather than a large rubber seal. That's the good part. The bad part is that after less than two years, this stainless steel kettle is showing obvious corrosion to the lid and body, mainly where the lid touchs the body, suggesting low quality stainless steel was used.

Save your money

published

Lid flies open when it boils and won't switch off. I thought this may have been because it was over full. Even when it is only 75% full! it still flips open and won't switch off. Very dangerous if you go to boil the kettle and leave your house with this happening. Sorry, I won't risk it and I suggest you be cautious if you purchase this kettle.

Quick to boil, not too loud and looks sleek

published

When I received this as a gift recently I had low expectations after reading the other reviews here. So far it has been my favourite kettle yet. I didn't need anything fancy in terms of different temp settings or special lighting - this is a sleek looking no nonsense kettle and I've been impressed by quick boiling time and the fact that it is a lot quieter than previous kettles I've had.

BPA Free, but not Rust Free

published

As the title suggests, our kettle developed quite a few rust spots around the spout and rim within a few months of using it. Apart from the stains on the stainless steel, it worked perfectly fine.

We've returned it to Harvey Norman and bought a glass Breville instead. So far, so good with that one.

The button to boil failed 2 days after purchase

published

worked great for 2 days, now when I press the button to boil, it springs back up straight away. I selected this kettle as I could only find bad reviews on other kettles, nothing on this one. So here you go - first review of the ksk220.

Kambrook says to return it....

Hi maddening, the underside of the lid and the lid hinge (level with the lid, pretty much) have plastic parts - there's no plastic is directly in touch with boiling water (barring condensation), there's no plastic smell... it's not ideal, but it's not bad.
