They sure did! I had an old tin and the new tin and did a comparison of both, new tins have more fat in them and few other ingredients changed and they reduced amount you give too, my bub was constipated and hungry

Hi Melanie,

We have adjusted the formulation of the Karicare Goat 3 milk and these changes are reflected in the Nutrition Information Panel (NIP) and ingredients list. The proportion of Goat milk solids has changed and this has altered the amounts of some naturally occurring components of the milk – the fat, carbohydrate, magnesium and iodine levels. We have also made minor adjustments to some of the vitamins and minerals in line with our other toddler milks and have also decreased the protein level. Your little one's may be sensitive to the difference in taste, therefore it can be helpful to mix the old product with the new product in the same bottle for a few days to help transition. Please feel free to give Nutricia Careline a call on 1800 438 500 (AUS) or 0800 438 500 (NZ) to discuss further if you would like. Kind regards, Saskia

How much formula do i use for 150ml fluid?

1 answer
Karicare+
Nutricia Careline T.Karicare+

Hi there Akenehi S. The Karicare + Goat Milk 1 contains a scoop that will measure the correct amount of powder to add to 50ml of cooled boiled water. Therefore to make with 150ml of water, add 3 loosely packed and levelled scoops, swirl and rock to mix. This ensures that baby gets the nutrition described on the package.- Nutricia Careline

Why is it after only a few shakes (we have not shaken it rigorously), the formula gets super frothy with lots of air bubbles? We have to let it sit for a very long time before some of the air bubbles go away and can give it to our bub. We've shook it the same way we have with other formulas and not had the same issue. Just want to know we haven't purchased a bad batch

Why the lactose from cows milk in your ingredients? Also would be interested to understand why only 43% goat milk solids? Can I interpret your statement that "goats milk is a characterising ingredient" to mean that cow milk intolerant infants should not use?

1 answer
Karicare+
Nutricia Careline T.Karicare+

Hi Bun,
In the Karicare Goat 1 lactose from cows milk is used to add carbohydrate content as Goat milk lactose is not available. The Goat milk solid content is formulated to ensure that the product meets the FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand) requirements for nutritional content as safe for babies. Cows' milk and goat milk proteins are 92.5% cross reactive, so you are correct in assuming that the Karicare Goat is considered medically unsuitable for babies with a reaction to cows milk protein. We always recommend that you discuss infant feeding choices with your Health Care Professional but feel free to give us a ring on our toll-free number 1800 258 268 and one of our Dietitians or Nutritionists will be happy to assist you further.
Thanks - Karicare

My baby is 3 months he throws up all the time cries with his tummy, would this help him?

This is hard to answer as every baby is different. I tried so many formulas because she was constipated and unsettled. She never vomited though. It was very good for her tummy, much less grizzling and much happier. You should ask doctor or paed if his vomiting doesn't get better.

Tamara

I have definitely found this formula better than any full cows milk formula, but maybe jist confirm that there arent any traces of cow products as my daughter was highly reactive to any cow products! My third seems happier on this product but some changes in his stools for prolonged use - i only use this as an occasional supplement, which is a bonus that i can otherwise feed in between. It must be hard balancing feeds when its the sole nutrition, my best wishes.

I'm experiencing the same thing coupled with constipation however this was not so with Clever Naturals brand of goat milk formula. Unfortunately Clever Naturals is no longer available at my local store but Karicare is not working for us and will be moving on to try a different brand.
