Which bowls fit the Kenwood Chef XL Titanium (KVL8300S)? My mixer was kneading pizza dough and wobbled itself off the bench and broke the stainless steel bowl and plastic cover. I am looking to replace these parts and am interested to know what options I have. Thanks

Hi Elaine, Same thing happened to me, but the whole machine had damage to the "nose" and now I don't have a machine. Absolutely no help from the company. Their attitude is that you have to stand beside the mixer at all times, which, as you would know, is simply not reasonable. This is a serious design fault. If you watch the cooking shows they all use this machine, but theirs wobble too.
Anyway I'm sorry this happened to you Elaine, but at least you only have to replace the bowl. I would contact Kenwood to ask if you can get a replacement through one of their service centres which carry parts and accessories. Don't expect any compensation though. Customer service ends when the purchase is complete. It IS a good workhorse, but I am looking for another brand which is better designed. Good luck!

So many problems with this machine. First time the motor did some strange sound. We gave it back and waited for one month to repair. But the sound was again bad. Next the processor was broken and now we can't use it, cause kenwood can't take back this equipement. Now the motor stopped spinning suddenly and when it does i saw many metal shaving around the machine, dont know why.. And my guaranty has expired after2 years, cause i forgot to activate it within 60 days of purchase, and i throw away the receipt also. All went so wrong. I am not a rich guy and i was paying this machine for 2 years with by installment. Can someone from kenwood contact me pls? I live at Greece.

I'm looking to buy the Kenwood KVL 8300S Chef Titanium XL and have found it ranging drastically in price from different outlets. Are there old and new models with the same product code? I'm suspicious of the lower priced ones but don't want to pay over the top!

Hi Rosie,
I got mine from Appliances online last January for just under $1000. Be aware that there are some issues with this machine. One being it will wobble around the bench and end up on the floor broken if you don't watch it like a hawk. Mine is thus broken. second, the accessories don't all scrape from the whole bowl, so you will needto periodically stop the machine and scrape the bits that haven't been mixed.
Honestly, this is a very expensive machine and these issues shouldn't be occurring, but there's nothing on the market as powerful.

Hey Rosie, I bought mine on Appliances Online for just over $900. I love it. Haven't had any issues with it wobbling around on the bench or with it not mixing properly. It's definitely worth every cent. I love the size of the bowl, I can do small mixes and large. It sits on my bench and I use it at least three times a week. Good luck with your purchase!

I bought mine Dec 2018 from Appliances online for about $850. Haven't had the issues "countrygirl" has faced. I always make a double pizza dough in this machine which is about 2.2kg and it does this effortlessly. The scraper beater is provided so you don't have to continually scrape the bowl!

wht is the min no of eggs can be used in this model?

Hi there,
Thanks for your question. In good news - there's no minimum! There's a handy spanner-like tool that should have come in the box of your kitchen machine, which will allow you to lower the bowl tools so that you can work with any amount of ingredients.
With the mixer switched off, insert the whisk bowl tool and lower the mixer head. Check the clearance between the tool and the bottom of the bowl. Ideally the tool should be almost touching the bottom of the bowl.
Hope this helps!

I have had my Kenwood since forever but find the large bowl too big for most of my mixing, wish there was a small bowl for small mixing!

I've found that with the larger bowl on the Chef XL Titanium has been better with small amounts than with my old kenwood. The blades and whisks seem to pick up the ingredients better from the base of the larger bowl, but that's just my experience. I've been a kenwood user since childhood cooking with mum and now my grandkids love to see me get the kenwood out!

Thanks for your feedback, Marlene. We really appreciate it and have passed on to our product team. Best, Kenwood

I bought this a while ago and am very frustrated. It doesn’t mix thoroughly to a smooth consistency (even creamed cheese for a chesscake); ingredients are also left on side of bowl and on the beater. I’ve tried lots of adjustments and nothing works. Also is there a smaller bowl I can get too. I find the large bowl way too big

Hi Sam, thanks for your questions. May we ask what kind of mixes you're attempting to make when you're having trouble getting the right consistency? And which bowl tool you have been using? Unfortunately the Chef XL Titanium is only compatible with the 6.7L bowl. Best, Kenwood

I've seen a few reviews for the Kenwood mixers with 6.7L bowls with people complaining that the bowl is just too big. On the Kenwood site it says a smaller bowl "is not necessary" because of the planetary action of the blade. Surely, after these negative reviews, they might change their mind and make a smaller bowl? Or an attachment that scrapes closer to the bowl (might be a cheaper option)? Kenwood might not see a sufficient number of negative reviews for this specific issue, so hence may not be motivated to change - but that's because people (like me) are reading these reviews, realising that they usually cook small batches (living alone is a global trend), and are deciding to buy a Kitchenaid - they don't end up leaving a negative review because they've bought a Kitchenaid! With the power of the Kenwood machines, compared to Kitchenaid, it really shouldn't be a contest, but if the blade doesn't reach the ingredients, that pretty much renders the entire machine useless, which is worse than a less powerful machine! I wonder how much market share Kenwood is losing because of this?

RadicalReviewer

The Kenwood Titanium XL is XL for a reason for large batches 6.7L. If you need a smaller bowl buy the smaller Chef Sense (4.6L). Its not rocket science. Kitchenaid make a variety of mixers in different sizes just like Kenwood. Unlike the KA, Kenwood machine come standard with the flexi beater, and ALL of the mixing attachments have a bolt at the top that you can unscrew and adjust so the beater gets closer to the bowl. So much misinformation going around, people need to be reading their manuals!

I'm looking at replacing my 40 year old Kenwood but found the new benchtop appears unstable. There doesn't appear to be enough 'feet' to give it a footprint that will keep it stable during high power beating. Numerous reviews online refer to the same concern. Can you please advise whether this problem has been resolved.

I have just tried to whisk 7 eggs at speed 6 for my first banana cake using my new stand mixer. It is very stable during high power beating. It is also quieter than my previous Kenwood Premier Major KMM770 which was a discontinued model.

Thanks for your question. All mixers have the suction feet for added stability, yes they are made of lighter weighted products which after having an extremely solid 40+ year machine I can see your concern. However the new machines are built for purpose even though much lighter in weight. We advise in all manuals ls never leave your machine unattended to prevent any mishaps. I hope this helps. Regards, Kenwood.

I am looking to replace my 30 plus year old Kenwood mixer. It started smoking last week while i was beating eggs and sugar together for a recipe saying beat on high for 8 to 10 minutes.
I have started to do my homework. David Jones has a Titanium KVL8300 and i notice that details below are Titanium XL KVL8300S. Are these two different models? If so what are the differences?

I really want to mix breads and dough with ease and need a machine that can cope. I had tried some time ago with my old Kenwood but stopped it as could hear it wasn't coping well. I tried my daughters Kitchen Aid as was going to replace with one eventually. I did not like the one she had as it sent the dough up the top so was having to hold the spatula firmly to try keep it in the bowl. I have looked at reviews and even the lift model i question if it would be very good.
I cant kneed by hand as broke my wrist a while ago so it hurts if i try to do this. I also know a machine will do it faster and better.
I also bake all my cakes at home and have always loved my Kenwood.
Kind regards
Chris.

My Kenwood Chef XL Titanium KVL8300S is the current model with 6.7 litres stainless steel bowl with handles and mixing tools are also stainless steel. It has 10 years motor warranty. I have checked online and I am unable to find Titanium KVL8300. Maybe KVL8300 is powder coated and not stainless steel mixing tools?

My other under 4 years old Kenwood Premier Major KMM770 has powder coated mixing tools. The minimum speed was suddenly changed to max and noisy during just 1.2kg dough mixing and then stopped working. It costs $250 to replace the control module after I paid $55 for checking/quotation and I bought it brand new for only $430 discontinued item. I have checked reviews that this KMM770 model is not good as it stopped working again after repair. So I prefer to buy a new Kenwood with 10 years motor warranty and it should be more reliable according to the sales staff. I can also use my old Kenwood 6.7 litres bowl on my new Kenwood fyi.

Hi Mary, as mentioned by Su above the Kenwood Chef XL Titanium KVL8300S is our current model and is perfect for mixing breads and doughs with ease thanks to the powerful 1700W motor and the custom dough hook bowl tool that comes in the box with the machine. Happy baking! Best, Kenwood

Thank you i did buy it. KVL 8300S
As yet have not tried bread but can make a triple mix of our favourite carrot cake. Always did double with my old one.
Love the slow start and its a much quieter machine.
Tried shortcrust pastry but was not as successful as making it in my Kenwood food processor. It worked but the cutting blade works better and faster.
Little harder to clean because i suppose i an very fussy with my appliances. Everything packs away well in a plastic sistema container and the machine gets put away on a shelf lightly covered.
We later ordered the mincer/ sausage maker. Ive yet to try them.
Im very happy with this new mixer. regards Chris.
