Fantastic car
The Kia Picanto is a fantastic little car. I got it in 'Pop Orange', and it looks absolutely adorable. It's wonderfully small and maneuverable, and great for city driving. That said, as a small car, it lacks a little oomph so sometimes you have to really floor it to get up hills or up to speed on the freeway (and it can make a lot of noise).

Amazing little car
The Kia Picanto is an amazing little car (we call it our scooter hah). It is tiny but it packs a punch in terms of its features, it basically has everything for the most amazing price. So easy to park, has enough power in it for day to day city driving and its array of media features is great. Reversing camera and dynamic parking guidelines make it super simple to get out of even the tightest of spaces. And 7 year warranty really sealed the deal, especially with 7 year roadside as long as you get it serviced regularly (which is also all capped price). Probably the best thing about the picanto is how far it can go with one tank and how cheap it is to run. Its small but still feels comfortable even with a full family inside.

Perfect car for me
Bought this car as my first car and am very pleased with it. It has a great fuel economy but yet still powerful enough to drive through slopes. Also small enough to fit into any parking space, even the tightest ones. Only downside is the small boot space, but living alone, this is more than enough for me.

Great value for money
The Kia Rio fits my budget perfectly and I am quite surprised with the Auto Android feature, its so convenient that I get flustered with other SatNav's. Perfect for students, pensioners and city life! The backseats are also very spacious. Very easy to drive and fits in all parking spaces.

Beaut little car Gret value But disappointing no CD player
Love this little shopping trolley... I am 192cm and feel really comfortable driving this car. Drives really well and light on fuel.
Very disappointed there isn’t a CD player but other than that good value. Very easy to park and reverse camera is excellent. 7 year warranty closed the deal for us

My new favourite car

I purchased the Kia Picanto in July 2017 as it was good value for money. It had the most amount of features and best fuel economy in comparison with other vehicles in that price range. It also came with a 7-year warranty and 7 years capped servicing. there is little storage. I also dislike how there is only one USB which makes it hard to have a dash cam in the car when using the car-play system. I like how there is automatic emergency breaks, the auto lights,the car-play system with 7inch screen and how the seat covers can be removed and washed. After a week of having the car, I did have a fuse issue where my 7inch screen and locking system was not working. Kia did fix the problem and did it quickly. Awesome
We bought this car as a get around for our active family. We had a bigger car that would chew through fuel. I love this car because it is sooooo cheap to run - $42 per 450 kms and can fit the whole family. It looks small on the outside but it feels roomy on the inside. The android auto is great.

Beneath the gloss and high specification is a poor quality unreliable car.
Purchased the new model Picanto in August 2017 and was taken in by the relative low cost great specification all backed up by a 7 year warranty.
On collection within minutes I noticed a very annoying rattle in the rear door, A week in an it became very noticeable that the car seemed to suffer from sporadic loss of power and rough running. Excellent car for the money
Being on an extremely tight budget and wishing to buy a very small automatic, we looked at the Kia Picanto, Mitsubishi Mirage, Suzuki Ignis and base model 1.3 litre Toyota Yaris. We chose the Picanto for the following reasons: Firstly, it uses a "tried and true" traditional automatic transmission (versus CVT on the Mirage and Ignis). we felt was extremely important given that we stretched the budget to get a new car to begin with. We simply do not have the money to fork out for expensive repairs after 3 to 5 years. Thirdly, the Picanto had a much more sophisticated driving feel to the other cars - OK, it does not feel like a big car but the ride and comfort are extremely good for this class. The steering is razor precise with no mushiness or vagueness whatsoever and the car handles extremely well too. Not that handing is much of an issue on public roads anyway, but even when driven at normal speeds the car turns into corners very precisely as if it is on rails - meaning that you have no real perception of the car's weight or inertia at the sort of speeds typically seen during sensible public road use. Perhaps the torque vectoring is at play here. The car is generally very quiet indeed, though in one respect it becomes a victim of its own quiet interior - at 70 kmh and above, there is a noticeable "tonal" whine from the automatic transaxle. Unfortunately this seems to be normal for the model since I subsequently heard it in two other examples as well. I don't want to make too big a deal over this though, since ordinarily you would not hear it - in most cars of this size and class, engine, road and wind noise would easily drown it out. But thanks to these other noises being so minimal in the Picanto, other annoying noises like this transmission noise do tend to intrude somewhat (unless you like the radio turned up!). So far as comfort is concerned, it is a mixed bag here too. I also own a manual Corolla and I'm not going to pretend that the Picanto is a comfortable as a car in the Corolla's class. The two main issues here are firstly that the Picanto head restraints in the two front seats are a couple of centimetres too far forward. Sure, I understand that they are meant to contact the back of your head at all times, though this shouldn't mean that your head and neck have to adopt an unnaturally forward posture all the time. No matter how much I adjust the seat, I could not resolve this issue. Secondly, the lack of telescopic steering compromises the overall driving position - even with the very "best" position I could find, the steering wheel is still a few cm further forward than I would ideally like. But so far as I am aware, all the cars in the city car class are handicapped in this way. A pity because with their small interiors, the more fine adjustments, the better in my view. I'm not saying that the car is uncomfortable - it is OK and not really any better or worse than the other cars in the city car class. But it could be better if more attention had been paid to basic ergonomics, even if it meant increasing the price of the car by $500. The Picanto has received some criticism due to the low-powered engine and "ancient" automatic transmission, but quite honestly, I have absolutely no problem with either of these things. The car has more than enough power and response for suburban driving and is even adequate on our metropolitan freeways. It can even easily get up the very steep inclines of Mt. Ousley and the M1 (Princes Motorway) heading north towards Sydney at the speed limits (variously 80 kmh for Mt. Ousley and 100 kmh for the Princes Motorway). The less severe inclines heading north of Sydney on the freeway from Wahroonga to Gosford are very easily managed at the 110 kmh limit with power in reserve. Perhaps the only criticism I have of the drivetrain all things considered (specs and price) is that the driveline is biased too much towards fuel economy. It could be a bit more eager to kick down from 3rd to 2nd gear than it presently is and it (understandably I suppose) wants to get itself into 4th (top) gear as soon as possible. What this gearbox really needs though, is 5 or preferably 6 speeds. But then again remember that this is pretty much the cheapest new automatic car on the market and even the Yaris only has 4 speeds. So far as reliability is concerned, it is early days yet. The air conditioner compressor was faulty from new, making a very annoying grinding sound. It is due to be replaced under warranty. I'm not sure I can directly blame Kia for this since I imagine air conditioners for modern cars are made by third party manufacturers in the same way that airbags are. It was probably just the luck of the draw, though that said, I drove another example and although the air conditioner was far quieter than the one in our air, it was still disappointing to note how audible it was. Best value city car on the market
Firstly I am writing this as when I was looking to purchase a small city car I had to do a lot of research, so I hope to assist those looking at this time. I ended up purchasing a KIA Picanto New from Muirs Kia Haberfield. When I just had the car serviced. It was reported that all brake rotors had lips but the pads had 9mm and 8mm pads still. Why are the rotors wearing faster?

Once you have installed new brake rotors and pads, you must break them in properly. Brake pads clean the rotor and apply the right amount of friction to stop the vehicle. Not breaking in the rotors and pads could reduce the ability of the pad to clean the rotor sufficiently. This can cause uneven wear or warping....this is a cut n paste but think answers ..if no good get friend or family member in raa to ask tech guys they are great or join as I pay monthly.fir $12 worth it cheap power bills n pics.good luck.col
