Read mores etch primer instead of just killrust. also as epoxy enamel is different to the cheaper paints, there will be a reaction caused by two different types of paint in some cases so do a test coat in a small area to see if there is a bad reaction. If not then continue to paint with confidence. so with steel clean up and do a test to see if it reacts badly, with aluminium apply an etch primer first and clean the surface of all grease and oil first. Before I forget, check the paint tin you are using to see if it says it needs a primer first. Wattyl killrust products on steel require some cleanup of rust scale then apply straight to surface.
