Is wattyl killrust fishoilene toxic two weeks after use. I have a bird cage that needs painting but have had to deal with the rust first. If I paint over with a non toxic paint after use of the killrust will it be toxic for my bird?
I have some plant stands that used to be covered in plastic but now that has deteriorated and rust is forming over the steel underneath. Can I just paint over it with Wattyl Killrust or do I need to sand it down a bit.

Do good prep work to iron and should not be a problem. If doesn’t stick you may need to get iron sand blasted. Hope that helps

If it sticks I’d say yes but plastic is usually a special type of paint. If I was attempting to paint plastic with it I would give a very light sand to give the paint something to stick to. Hope that helps good luck

Read morek this site is even looked at by the paint reps no one takes pride in there work these daysI'm struggling with a large van that has 'house paint' on top of acrylic auto-paint. It appears to be a 'good' house paint but it's Matt finish Black and looks to have been sprayed over dirt, chips etc. I've chosen Killrust because anything else won't stick. Areas I have tried show it's best to do NO prep and the Killrust shows a good finish. However, where I prime or remove rust or sand out a stone chip, the Killrust lifts everything under it, no matter what I use. When I sand it back, it still lifts on the edges of what I've sanded. What can I use as a non-reactive primer? John V
I have used both the cold gal primmer and the heavy duty green primer and put ocean blue over both and product has worked great but with the prep take back to bare steal bit harder but worth the effort. Hope that helps
Can I paint over Killrust Fisholene. the parts are suspension bits on a nice trailer, so they can be seen but don't need a smooth glossy finish.
