Well designed but not effective
It works well for easy tasks, such as whipping cream or egg whites. But on the other hand heavy load such as puree and soup it has some difficulties, it most of the time cannot handle the load and unfortunately the machine stops, it keeps only an small hunming noise and gets hot, I need to turn it off from the walk and wait to use it again. That is an unfortunate.

Waste of money!
This hand blender does not make your life easier at all. Too bad I read the reviews only after buying. Attachments don’t fit well, rusting on some parts, a nightmare to clean. Just don’t buy it. KitchenAid customer service barely helpful at all.

I bought another Kitchen Aid Chopper
Along with several others who have posted here I too have had water coming from the chopper top, squealing on using it as well as the food just sticking to the sides. I threw the unit out after reading others had the same issues. I was also concerned about bacteria building up in the liquid from the blender top. The separate stick blender is still just fine. I have however purchased a Kitchen Aid Classic Mini Food Chopper 830ml and have found this is wonderful. Can highly recommend it- it chops beautifully, mixes small quantities -e.g. hummus etc. A great little chopper.

Good but with issues
We bought this when we had our baby 3 years ago. The actual blender part is good and made baby vegetable and meat purées with ease, though I had to replace it once because it was faulty. The plastic attachments are terrible. The tall container cracked on its own without being dropped, the little processor container had the plastic inside it completely erode with the chopping (I hate to think it probably ended up in our food!) and was super noisy to operate. Now it is also getting difficult to assemble the blender as the plastic parts to connect seem to have lost their shape after use. I would not buy this again nor recommend it to family or friends.

Just what I wanted
This utensil was just what I needed in my kitchen, to be honest I purchased it and never used it for 6 months I can't imagine why now. It does a diverse number of jobs and has become a valued member of my "cooking team". What I really want to focus on and brag about is the customer service at Kitchen aid, my blending pitcher (jug) got a crack in it after about 3 uses, I called the help desk, they were so helpful and in 2 days I had a new one at my front door. Sometimes it's the after purchase service that makes all the difference and in this case I can't speak more highly of this company.

Seems ok UNTIL...
So this works well for smoothing out soups. For making pesto etc using the included container that the blender snaps into - works quite well (not amazing), but it's very loud. By far, the worst aspect of this product and the reason it has prompted my review - the adapter between the included container and the blender (the dark grey lid) CANNOT be cleaned properly without getting water stuck inside. It's SO unhygienic, it basically means you cannot use it. What is shocking is this is so obvious that it's an issue, there is just no way KitchenAid...Read more
didn't know it was an issue and released the product, anyway. That's a truly disgusting way to treat customers who historically value their products. I have lost all faith in this company and won't be buying any more products going forward.Purchased in April 2021 at The Good Guys for $130.00.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT !
Just Like the user Nick posted below, we purchased this product less than 2 months ago and the very first time that we used it - to blend a pot of warm pumpkin soup - the machine cut out after around 30 seconds and makes a humming sound. This happened on 2 occasions.
We took the blender back to Harvey Norman (where we purchased it from) and showed a sales member a video that we took of the faulty machine cutting out after 30 seconds of blending - the sales member also then tested the blender in the store - by just running it in the air, puttin...Read more
g NO resistance on it at all and she noted that the wand became very hot to the touch and that the machine's motor had a very variable sound, which is not quite right. The sales person then rang Kitchenaid to authorise a return. She was told by a Kichenaid representative by the name of "[name removed]" that they would need to see the video first and asked that we forward the video to their email ([email protected]) - so we sent the email containing a link to the video, a reference number and description of the error. More than a week later, after hearing nothing back from Kichenaid, we again returned to Harvey Norman and stated that we would like a refund. The new sales rep then AGAIN called Kichenaid and they told her that they would not do a refund as it appears that the soup in the video was hot!!!! This is absolutely crazy, firstly the soup was warm (not hot) and any steam was likely due to the fact that it is the middle of winter! Secondly, what a useless product it is if you can not blend warm items?? Thirdly, this product was CLEARLY defective and was even getting excessively hot just running in air and also making strange sounds out of the motor - as noted by the Harvey Norman sales rep.Purchased in June 2021 at Harvey Norman for $199.00.

Expected more from this brand especially for the price.
I only got this for the stick blender (If you have read my other reviews, the Morphy Richards one I got prior died during the first use). Works ok. If you run it on a high speed for more than 5 seconds at a time it will over heat and turn off. Then you have to wait for it to cool down (which includes switching off at the plug) before using it again. Love all the accessories and box it comes with although not necessary ;) for me anyway. Would have loved the blender head to be a bit bigger so it can cover more food at a time ok instead of having to reposition the head to blend all the food up.

250 of my hard earned dollars up in smoke
Absolutely useless, heats up after 1 minute of blending then stops. I was blitzing cooked cauliflower and it stopped completely. This is the second one I had, first one was crap as well and replaced under warranty, this one is probably out. Really upset, just another example of a company creating ewaste for profits. Never will I by kitchen aid or related brands again.

Supposed to be an upgrade from my $100 Sunbeam stick mixer
My Sunbeam stick mixer died after 10 years. After a good experience with a KitchenAid stand mixer I decided without research that i would go for the KitchenAid. Being over double the price I assumed that it would be much better than my Sunbeam. I use it mainly for blending smoothies every morning and chopping vegetables, garlic, ginger, etc. I was surprised when blending the smoothies that it felt it was not as powerful and took a little longer than my Sunbeam which I had also been using most days for the last 10 years. It was when I tried to c...Read more
hop carrots, garlic, celery, spinach, basil for the spag bog that the blade was just spinning around and moving the ingredients with it. Being a mechanical engineer I noticed that the bowl is smaller and has a smaller blade radius compared to my Sunbeam chopping bowl leading to a lower velocity at the tip of the blade. Long story short I paid twice as much for something that does half as good a job. Would love to have the money back and try out the Braun or another Sunbeam. Even more disappointed to read the above reviews stating that KitchenAid have discontinued selling a spare part to customers who have a single broken part that is out of warranty and general lack of customer service. I am worried I will be another one complaining when mine fails. I’m in the market for a food processor at the moment and I am glad I read the reviews on the KitchenAid as it seems they are not much better.Purchased in February 2021 at Myer.

Drive Shaft Failure
I used this item about a dozen times and was very happy with it. However the plastic drive shaft within the blending arm shredded without notice, whilst I was reducing a very small handful of bread to breadcrumbs. This effectively meant that none of the bell blade attachments would work. If a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, a plastic driveshaft cannot be expected to drive metal attachments.

Very Poor Quality Appliance
We’ve had this unit for a few years and like others who have reviewed it, we’ve been very disappointed with an appliance that is from what we thought was a quality brand.
Very early on the mixing bowl lid was retaining water and we never submerged the lid at any stage. There doesn’t seem to be any way to get this water out. The whole unit emits a horrendous squealing sound randomly when blending.
The bowl is a good size for 2 people, however the food immediately sticks to the side and you spend more time with the spatula scraping it down than...Read more
the actual blending should take. The stick attachment lasted only 2 uses after which the plastic connector destroyed itself when crushing some ice. The final straw came this week when the bottom pin of the mixing bowl dislodged some plastic and the blade collapses down and gets wedged and won’t spin. This was our first and will most likely be our last KitchenAid product.Purchased in December 2021 at The Good Guys Physical store for $215.00.

Very diasappointing
Very disappointed in this item. The first one I had motor burnt out after 9 months of use. It was replaced under warranty and not even 3 months of use, the same thing has happened. I use it 3 times per week on average and I make pretty basic/liquid based recipes with this, nothing strenuous or thick. I opted for KitchenAid due to reputation and recommendation. I should have gone with my gut and spent substantially more on a proper blender and then a food processor, which I will be forking out for today - but am skeptical on purchasing KitchenAi...Read more
d. One thing I do like is the variety of attachments, and when dealing with KitchenAid customer service was an easy exchange. I should contact them again, however if any resolution is achieved I am sure I would just end up with another stick blender, and be disappointed again1 comment

One of my most loved kitchen accessories
This little guy is a great deal - great brand which has well made products and easy to use customer service if you ever need it. This is a good price on a stick/immersion blender, and it comes with a very handy container with lid to blend/store in. Although you can blend in any container it can be hard to find ones with nice tall sides to help prevent splatter. Mostly important if you're working with something hot or something that might stain!

Great and versatile product
I have had this product for a while and using it all the time, it is so easy to use and pack as it has the container to keep all the heads in place. I like that you can wash is so fast and I dont need to worry about clean up when the blenders are big. I use it for chopping onion, making smoothie, even mixing my soup (it has a special plastic head to prevent damaging the non-stick layer of the pans).

Disappointed
I was rapped when my daughter bought my hand blender for me for Mother’s Day in 2016, but like so many others I have had similar problems with product quality and performance.
In February 2018 I contacted Enquiries via email to obtain a replacement stainless steel blending arm (end that attaches to bell blades had shredded) and S-blade (damaged by damaged blending arm). Several weeks later I received a response that these parts were on Stop Re-order and that I should look on Ebay or Amazon and try my luck there for replacements.

Disappointing
Blending arm has broken after only 18-20 months of use and despite a whole box full of blades and other attachments, KitchenAid have told us the part is not replaceable. We had Jamie Oliver similar item before and thought we were upgrading when we spent the extra money on KitchenAid, in fact we have wasted money on this item. Would not buy again.

Falling apart
I bought this about two years ago and use it to puree soups once or twice a week. The parts never fit together really snuggly - with quite a bit of movement between the head holding the blade and the stick, and the stick and the motor - but I limped along as it was working well enough to do the limited blending I required. Within a few months I noticed a black, watery grease coming out of the blending head when blending light coloured vegetables. I assume that it was also in the other vegetables, but I couldn't see it. I started cleaning bo...Read more
th the stick and the head in hot soapy water immediately prior to use so that my food wasn't contaminated, but I'm not really sure that got all of the leaking lubricant. In recent months, as well as the leaky lubricant problem, the stick part of the blender has come apart where the shaft meets the connection cone. I have to fiddle with it to re-seat each time and blending has become almost impossible as it shaft falls out of alignment when I lift the blender off the bottom of the pot. I have tried to get a replacement stick part, but have been told it was unavailable. For a top-of-the-range price, I was expecting a much sturdier applianceSimilar opinion? Really not very effective at all
I bought this as an upgrade from a triblade which I have used for years. Very disappointed. When blending smoothies or soups, the liquid seeps through the join in the lower silver stick part. I think this is a serious design flaw. Also, instead of truly BLENDING, it tends to just swirl things around in the bowl so fast that it spills out. The swirling results in an ineffective blend, with bits and pieces remaining. I can seldom get things super smooth. Chopper: not effective at all. And yes, I do follow the manufacturers instructions of what can get blended etc.
